1998 Domaine Robert Groffier Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Domaine Robert Groffier Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (93RP, 93ST, 92BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium to dark ruby-colored, and sporting a dark cherry, spice, and fresh herb-scented nose, the 1998 Chambertin Clos de Beze is unquestionably one of the vintage's successes. Medium to full-bodied, broad, and powerful, it is a pure, well-balanced, and ripened wine. Its copious yet supple tannins are, at present, buried in layers and layers of red and black fruits." Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Richard Maniere Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru "Les Damodes". One of France's most legendary grapes and the grape that earned Burgundy its reputation. 2001 Thierry Allemand "Reynard" Cornas
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Thierry Allemand "Reynard" Cornas (91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium ruby. Pure aromas of blackberry, black raspberry and violet; more deeply pitched and less expressive today than the Chaillot. Bigger and thicker in the mouth but also with terrific verve and floral perfume. Clearly higher in volatile acidity than the Chaillot ... But still rather closed on the finish, which features excellent density, strong peppery tannins and impressive persistence. (ST) 91+" (02/2004)

2007 Giuseppe e Figlio Mascarello "Monprivato" Barolo
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Giuseppe e Figlio Mascarello "Monprivato" Barolo (97RP, 96WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Barolo Monprivato is stunningly beautiful. Monprivato is seldom this rich when it is young. It is most often intensely aromatic, mid-weight and frequently out of balance, especially right after bottling. The 2007 is none of those things. It is a rich, dramatic wine endowed with tons of fruit and a sweeping, enveloping personality. It is also primary and at the beginning of what is likely to be a long, long life. Despite its seeming fragility, Monprivato is one of the most long-lived of all Baroli, even in its weakest vintages. Drink from 2017-2017 (AG)" (10/2011)

1999 Domaine des Lambrays Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine des Lambrays Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru (94BH, 94JG, 92WS, 90ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "I was quite surprised to find just how open for business this was in magnum format as I expected something far more reserved but such was not the case. A beautiful and highly expressive nose of ripe black cherry, earth and the hallmark red pinot fruit is followed by medium weight yet concentrated flavors of bacon, smoke and sappy pinot extract that are given lift and verve by the intense minerality and outstanding length. This has added a good deal of weight and seems more powerful than before yet it remains very stylish and classy with excellent potential though like the same wine in 750 ml (see herein), this is so well balanced and harmonious that it could easily be drunk now with pleasure. That said, unless you are lucky enough to have this in quantity, I would counsel cellaring it for another 5 to 10 years. In a word, terrific. Try from 2014+" (05/

1990 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (99RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This magnificent Lynch Bages has been drinking well since the day it was released and it continues to go from strength to strength. The biggest, richest, fullest-bodied Lynch Bages until the 2000, the fully mature 1990 exhibits an unbelievably explosive nose of black currants, cedarwood, herbs and spice. The majestic, classically Bordeaux aromatics are followed by a full-bodied, voluptuously textured, rich, intense wine with superb purity as well as thrilling levels of fruit, glycerin and sweetness. This beauty should continue to provide immense pleasure over the next 15+ years. (RP)" (08/2011)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dark garnet-colored 1961 Haut-Brion is pure perfection, with gloriously intense aromas of tobacco, cedar, chocolate, minerals, and sweet red and black fruits complemented by smoky wood. This has always been a prodigious effort (it was the debut vintage for Jean Delmas). It is extremely full-bodied, with layers of viscous, sweet fruit. This wine is akin to eating candy. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Sine Qua Non "Piranha Waterdance" California Syrah ((97-100RP), (95-97VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Syrah Piranha Waterdance is young and unevolved (more than the Grenache) and sports an inky blue color to go with lots of minerality, notes of cassis, violets and pepper, full-bodied richness and a surprisingly serious, structured, even masculine vibe on the palate. A blend of 81% Syrah, 8% Petite Sirah and the rest Mourvedre, Touriga Nacional and Graciano, fermented with 26% whole clusters and aging in 54% new French oak, it will be bottled just after the Grenache, in April of next year. 1999 Domaine Prieuré-Roch Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine Prieuré-Roch Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru. Domaine Prieure Roch was founded by Henry Roch in 1988. His family is part-owner of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, and when they sold parcels in 1988 in order to purchase Romanée-St-Vivant Marey-Monge, it was Roch who stepped up to buy some of the available plots. At the time Roch did not yet have an established domaine or clientele, and he himself added the 'Prieure' to the name in order to distinguish it from other French enterprises operating under the name Roch. Thus the birth of Prieure-Roch, which has since come to be regarded as an iconoclast estate working in some of Burgundies great sites with traditional methods. All the wines are whole-cluster and spend two year in barrel before bottling. The methods are transparent, uncomplicated and preserve tradition and pure terroir expression of some of Burgundies most magnificent terroirs.

The acidity, ripe blackcurrants sit comfortably on top of dry tannins, the fleshiness of the fruit taking the edge off the tannins. It seems to bring out the structure, the fruit and the refreshing acidity of great Cabernet. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (12/2007)

2009 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru "150th Anniversary Cuvee"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru "150th Anniversary Cuvee" (94RP, 94VN, 91BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Beaune 150th Anniversary Cuvee is a commemorative wine created to celebrate Jadot’s 150th birthday. The 150th Anniversary Cuvee is a selection of the maison’s best parcels in the Cote de Beaune. It boasts extraordinary richness and length, not to mention fabulous overall balance. Seemingly endless layers of intensely fragrant dark red fruit build to the effortless, huge finish. This is a fabulous showing from Jadot. It is just as impressive from bottle as it was from barrel. I think it is safe to say Jadot hit it out the park with this effort. Readers will be tempted to drink the 2009 early, so immense is its appeal, but opening a bottle before its tenth birthday is likely to be nothing more than an academic exercise. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039." (04/2012)

1990 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Margaux, Margaux (100RP, 98ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1990 Chateau Margaux has turned into a sensational wine that eclipses both the 1988 and 1989...and then some. It has a gorgeous, ethereal bouquet with sumptuous red berry fruit, leather, camphor and licorice—it is the kind of nose in which you just immerse yourself. Is there a hint of brettanomyces here? If there is, I don't really care. The palate is soft and sensual with incredible depth. Fleshy and corpulent for Chateau Margaux, and yet surfeit with breeding and finesse, there are layers or red fruit, kirsch, sage and fig, later tobacco and cloves. I feel that this 1990 Château Margaux is at its peak and yet the harmony, the sheer swagger of this wine just wins you over. Magnificent. Tasted May 2016. (NM)" (10/2016)

2002 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 94ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Monte Bello Proprietary Red is a blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot. It tastes as if it hasn’t changed since I first sampled it in late 2003 and then again in bottle two years later. The color is healthy ruby/purple, and the wine displays some dusty, oaky, vanillin notes that jump out of the glass along with a touch of white chocolate as well as red and black currants and hints of cedar and forest floor. Extremely young and full-bodied, with some wood char still present, it is unevolved and tastes like it could be a barrel sample, except that it has been in bottle for nearly ten years! This is a blockbuster Ridge Monte Bello that still needs a minimum of another 10 years of bottle-age and should keep for 50+ years. Only for the young and patient! ... (RP)" (06/2012)

The 2006 Château Pape Clément has an intense bouquet that is very well defined, adorned with cassis, blueberry and subtle iodine scents that all gain momentum in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, very well-judged acidity, the new oak neatly enmeshed and blessed with a precise, harmonious finish that lingers. Of the 1995 Nicolas Joly "Clos de la Coulée de Serrant" Savennières,Wine Spectator writes: "Slightly darker in color than the '96 or '97, this shows more opulent ginger, honey and baked apple notes, yet is still firm and well delineated throughout. The lovely, lingering, elegant finish offsets the darker flavor profile wonderfully. Along with the '97, there is a touch of residual sugar here (Joly prefers to ferment totally dry). 2013 Realm "The Bard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Realm "The Bard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 93VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The perfect 2013 The Bard is a blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot, coming from four vineyards that Realm uses consistently -- B Weitz, Houyi, Blair and of course, the Beckstoffer Dr. Crane in St. Helena. There are 950 cases of this extraordinary wine, which has it all. Notes of graphite, blackberries, roasted espresso and chocolate are followed by a wine of enormous, massive extraction, richness and intensity, but no hard edges. This seamless work of vinous haute couture is staggeringly rich, very long, but not the least bit heavy or overbearing. 2007 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Valmur"
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Valmur" (95RP, 94BH, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The first grapes picked from the marl-rich upper portion of this site near Vaudesir, Fevre’s 2007 Chablis Valmur nonetheless displays (as in 2006) a dramatically different personality from their Vaudesir. Fresh lime, red currant, tangerine, grapefruit, and peony mingle in a Riesling-like effusion of fruit and flower, underlain by a salty and iodine-tinged mineral soup that seems as deep as the sea. Soundings reveal citrus zest, fruit pits, kelp, pine resin, and oyster shells. This should be an almost inexhaustible source of intrigue and pleasure over the coming decade. You’ll never get to the bottom of it, but so much the better for you and the wine! Fine as the 2006 was, this 2007 seems to illustrate the extent to which slow ripening, high extract, and bright acids best complement Valmur’s inherent character. (DS)" (12/2009)

Notes of smoke, charcuterie, black olives, black pepper and violets all emerge from this complex, layered, full-bodied beauty that has fine tannin, a seamless, elegant texture and beautiful length. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Frédéric Magnien Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru "Ruchots" ((90-92BH), 92VN, (89-91RP)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A ripe, pure and quite pretty nose speaks of wild dark berry fruit and earth aromas that also display an herbal hint. The full-bodied flavors are also notably ripe with solid complexity and there is sufficient dry extract present to impart a velvety mouth feel to the solidly persistent finish. This is not a wine of particular elegance but it is generous and satisfying as well as a bit more forward than many of these 1ers." (01/2012)

2001 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2001 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More seriously endowed, powerful and still broodingly backward, but loaded with upside potential, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain reveals gorgeous blueberry liqueur, crushed rock and blackberry liqueur characteristics. This big, mountain-styled 2001 exhibits lots of structure, tannin, density and powerful flavors. Still youthful, vibrant and masculine, it needs 4-5 more years of cellaring and should last for 25-30+ years thereafter. Both of these wines performed better than they did eight years ago. 2014 Larkmead Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Larkmead Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 “White Label” red wines include the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa, which is a beauty. An elegant, Pauillac-style wine with notes of chocolate, cedar wood, fruitcake, unsmoked cigar tobacco and underbrush, it is dense, full-bodied and rich. It is a blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot aged 19 months in 75% new French oak. There are 2,705 cases of this wine, which finished at 14.7% natural alcohol. It should drink well for 20-25 years, but there’s no reason to defer your gratification. (RP)" (10/2016)

Candied red and dark berries and rose pastille on the highly perfumed nose and in the mouth. Shows impressive depth as well as energy, with an emphatic spiciness that builds with air. 2000 Pavie Decesse, St-Émilion
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Pavie Decesse, St-Émilion (96RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Gerard Perse's 2000 Pavie Decesse, a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc from a vineyard situated above Pavie, on the steep limestone hillsides outside the walled town of St.-Emilion, is a fabulous effort (all the Perse wines are stunning in this vintage). Notes of camphor, creme de cassis, violets, black currants, cedar, and licorice jump from the glass of this inky/purple-hued offering. Monumental richness, sensational sweet tannin, a skyscraper-like mid-palate, and a 45+-second finish result in an extraordinary wine that is just reaching its plateau of full maturity. It should last for another 20-25 years. (RP)" (06/2010)

Deep aromas and flavors of black raspberry, cranberry, pomegranate, mocha and roast coffee, plus a whiff of animal fur. Fine-grained, sappy and alive, and almost shockingly expressive today. Finishes very long and minerally, with terrific lift and palate coverage. An outstanding village wine that offers very good aging potential. (ST) 91+" (03/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard, is a beauty. The healthy ruby/purple color is followed by classic, unevolved but promising aromas of minerals, cedar, smoke, and black currants. The wine is medium to full-bodied, with admirable purity, a sweet, lush mid-palate, and ripe tannin in the finish. The top-notch 1997 is a classic, restrained. Anticipated maturity: now-2020." 1973 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1973 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95JG, 90RP). John Gilman: "The 1973 Martha’s Vineyard is fully mature and is drinking beautifully at nearly forty years of age. The deep and utterly classic nose offers up scents of red and black cherries, petroleum jelly, fresh mint, chipotle peppers, spice tones, a beautiful base of soil and a nice touch of nutskins in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, fullbodied and absolutely à point, with a silky palate impression, lovely intensity of flavor, lovely complexity and stunning length and grip on the perfectly focused and dancing finish. The ’73 Martha’s Vineyard will not last anywhere near as long as wines such as the 1974 or 1975, but it still has plenty of life in it and will continue to dazzle for decades to come. Just a beautiful bottle of wine. 2011-2045." (06/2011)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Zind-Humbrecht "Rangen de Thann - Clos St Urbain" Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Alsace (93ST, 92RP, 91WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright golden-orange color. Deeply pitched but pure aromas of spices, smoked meat and flint. Supersweet, thick and powerful, conveying a chewy impression of soil without coming across as rough-edged or phenolic. This has VT richness. Fine acidity and a powerful spice character give shape and lift to this unctuous, silky wine. Humbrecht says the r.s. here is less than 50 grams per liter. (ST)" (07/2007)

Of the 2005 Domaine Pavelot (Jean-Marc & Hughes) Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru "Aux Gravains" (1.5L),Allen Meadows - Burghound writes: "Here the fruit runs primarily toward the red end of the spectrum with subtle hints of stone and earth that also mark the rich, full and sweet flavors that display their usual fine detail and the linear, indeed almost strict finish that goes on and on. While La Dominode quite rightly gets the lion's share of the adulation in the Pavelot portfolio, the Gravains is the unsung hero in my view." (04/2007)

2013 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 96VN, 94WE, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I think the wine of the vintage, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Columbia Valley is flat out sensational, and flirts with perfection. Its inky ruby/purple color is followed by incredible notes of cassis, black currants, smoked herbs, licorice and graphite. These give way to a full-bodied, utterly seamless Cabernet that has full-bodied richness, ultra-fine tannin and a killer finish. While it possesses the elegance and purity of the vintage, it has a stacked mid-palate, and deserves 4-5 years of cellaring. It will have two decades or more of overall longevity. (JD)" (06/2016)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 96VN, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 James Berry Vineyard Proprietary Red is made from 45% Grenache, 29% Mourvedre, 18% Syrah and 8% Counoise (which Justin commented was a blend that was put together relatively late). It saw a big chunk of whole cluster (the Grenache was mostly destemmed though) and was brought up all in puncheons and foudre (the normal concrete component went to the Rocket Block). It offers up gorgeous notes of black raspberries, cherries, cassis, ground herbs and flowers. This beauty hits the palate with incredible purity, fine tannin and an overriding sense of elegance and finesse, backed up by full-bodied richness and depth. It needs to be forgotten for 3-4 years and it will drink beautifully through 2028. (JD)" (08/2016)
