2014 Louis M. Martini Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The bigger, richer 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley is 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petite Sirah aged 16 months in 50% new French and American casks. This is a bigger wine and close to 2% higher in alcohol at 15.5%. There are 11,000 cases of this big, full-bodied, boisterous Cabernet Sauvignon that has a dense ruby/purple color, notes of underbrush, forest floor, tobacco leaf and oodles of blackcurrants and black cherries, with a touch of woodsmoke. The full-bodied wine hits the palate with a cascade of glycerin, fruit and purity. This is a beau ...Read More »

2013 Château Puech-Haut "Cuvée Prestige" Coteaux du Languedoc Rouge (Previously $20) New!
2013 Château Puech-Haut "Cuvée Prestige" Coteaux du Languedoc Rouge (Previously $20)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Coteaux du Languedoc Prestige (which was already in bottle at the time of this tasting) is a blend of 55% Grenache and 45% Syrah aged all in concrete tank. Fresh, elegant and thrillingly pure, with first rate aromas of blackberry, fresh plum, licorice and ground herbs, it is decidedly sexy and forward, yet stays perfectly balanced, with juicy acidity and fine tannin on the finish. Enjoy this superb value over the coming 4-5 years (although it will evolve longer). Easily one of the top estates in the Languedoc (if not southern France), Chateau ...Read More »

2012 Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An absolutely fabulous value is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa. This comes from multiple sources and there are 46,000+ cases of it. A stunning Cabernet Sauvignon and a classic example of Napa viticulture, this blend of 75.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec, was aged just over two years in oak. Loads of sweet blackcurrant fruit, cocoa, a touch of toast, earth, and baking spice are all present in this wine that has terrific fruit on the attack and mid-palate, a full-bodied mouthfeel, no hard edges and a lus ...Read More »

2014 Girard Napa County Cabernet Sauvignon

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa, which is Girard’s least expensive wine, has a healthy dark ruby/plum color, juicy blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, medium body and soft tannins. It is somewhat of a sleeper of the vintage at this price point and should be drunk over the next 7-8 years. (RP)" (12/2016)

2013 Sequoia Grove Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points James Suckling: "Very pretty balance and refinement with black currant, leather and hints of toasted oak. Full body, delicate tannins and a savory finish. This makes you want to drink it." (1/2016) 89-91 points Vinous: "Sequoia Grove's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is dark, fleshy and supple, especially for the year. Plum, blackberry, sage, mint, mocha and leather open up in a dark, brooding Cabernet that should drink well with minimal cellaring. The blend is 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 9% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec and 1% Syrah. (AG)" (10/2015) 90 points Connoisseurs Guide: "*Good Value* From ...Read More »

2013 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the two flagship cuvées, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve Georges de Latour is a fabulous wine. Obviously, this is the one wine that received the most meticulous attention from their outside consultant Michel Rolland. A great effort in 2013, as one might expect in this vintage, this wine needs 5-6 years and seems capable of lasting 30-40 or more, given the history of the great BV Private Reserves. Inky purple to the rim, with an extraordinary nose of créme de cassis and kirsch, licorice, cedarwood, and a touch of underbrush, the wine hi ...Read More »

Blanton's Original Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey (750ml)

96 points Wine Enthusiast: "Bold and well structured, this Bourbon features warming vanilla and caramel accented by orange peel, stone fruit and a dry baking-spice finish. Sip it with a chunk of ice, or mix up a round of juleps. The trademark round, faceted bottle with the horse-topped cork is perfect for Derby Day. (KN)" (9/2014) Wine Spectator: "Custard, pepper, orange peel and grassy rye fill the nose. In the mouth, it's a breakneck ride: an initial rush of dry corn and grassy rye, a broad wave of sweeter corn in the middle, and a finish of sugar and rough spearmint. 2013 Walter Hansel "Cuvee Alyce" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Pinot Noir Cuvée Alyce, which is made from a field blend of Dijon clones 115 and 777, is also backward and restrained. I can totally understand Stephen Hansel’s statement that the 2013 Pinots are very European with their reserved character. This is a big wine, dense, ruby in color, with terrific fruit intensity, but the tannins still dominate, and the wine has good acidity and a backward personality. It’s not austere by any means and should blossom fully with another 1-2 years of bottle age. It could turn out to be a low- to mid-90 pointer. It’s ...Read More »

Drink or hold for many years." (4/2015) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Barolo Ginestra Casa Matè sees a fresher quality of fruit compared to the Barolo Gavarini Chiniera. Vines are picked at slightly lower altitudes and harvest starts a few days earlier in this vineyard. The wine reveals an elegant and streamlined bouquet with lively tones of wild berry, spice, white truffle and balsam herb. The complexity here is very ...Read More »

Oban "Limited Edition" 18 Year Old West Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml) (Elsewhere $150)

91 points Whisky Advocate: "Drier, less toffee and fruit, more dried spice and oak when compared to the standard Oban 14 year old. A beautiful combination of rich, nutty toffee balanced by polished oak, salt, pepper, seaweed, distant smoke, and dried fruit. Somewhat oily in texture. Wonderful depth, too! An improvement on what is already the biggest-selling Diageo single malt scotch in the U.S. Very exciting and dynamic. Valdespino "Viejo CP" Palo Cortado Jerez

96 points Wine & Spirits: "The wines that make up this Palo Cortado have an average age of more than 25 years. Originally, it was aged in Calle Ponce in the city of Jerez; hence the initials still printed on the label. During aging, the wine is refreshed with Fino Inocente and Amontillado Tío Diego, two other top bottlings in Valdespino’s portfolio. The end result is a wine that smells smoky and rich in caramelized flavor, but tastes dry to the bone; all those ripe flavors become the purest mineral impressions. Long finish, straightforward, some minerality. (LPB)" (3/2010) K&L Notes: Muscat grapes, being particularly aromatic, require a special winemaking technique in order to preserve the fruit's potent fragrance and to create a wine that is light on its feet and a fine accompaniment to fruit and nut-based desserts. 2014 Lewis Cellars "Mason's" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Best from 2020 through 2030. (JL, Web-2017)" 90 points Connoisseurs Guide: "*One Star* Here is a full throttle Cabernet that holds nothing back, but even if fairly intemperate when it comes to pushy ripeness, it is long on deep and well-defined blackcurrant fruit and never quite steps over the lines of being too much. 2015 Château Vitallis Pouilly-Fuissé

There are still treasures to be found in the Mâcon, where small producers fly under the radar. Our most recent acquisition is Château Vitallis. In classic Burgundian fashion, the Dutron family has been growing vines since 1835, and now owns some of the oldest and best parcels in the village of Fuissé in the Pouilly-Fuissé district. Amaro Angeleno is LA's answer to the exploding Amaro scene. The Italian culture of drinking bitter liqueurs is centuries old. Using both local and exotic ingredients they created something truly unique to that place. Valdespino "Inocente" Fino Jerez

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The NV Fino Inocente must be one of the few wines in Jerez that is still fermented in 600-liter American oak botas, which is an incredible amount of work compared with fermenting tens of thousands of kilos of grapes (or even more) in a big stainless steel tank. This method was the norm of yesteryear, but is so labor intense that it was discontinued in most wineries, and gives a big diversity of wines, as each barrel has its own character, which contributes to the complexity of the blend. The wine is quite powerful and fruit intense but in a discreet and elegant way. It was aged 21 months in 87% new French oak, finished at 15.3% alcohol and was another abundant vintage, as this lot produced 850 cases, which is even more than 2012 and slightly less than 2003 and 2014. His 2014s may be the finest vintage we have had a chance to offer! This rich Chardonnay comes from vineyards below Puligny-Montrachet.

2010 Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona Brunello di Montalcino

94 points James Suckling: "Very perfumed with flower, truffle, light wet earth and cherry character. Full body and full integrated ripe tannins and caresses your palate. Very fine and pretty. Those kinds of aromas make Brunello such a wonderful wine and thankfully you get them in abundance ...Read More »

Very deep, very ripe and very full-bodied, it is bursting with wonderfully concentrated, curranty fruit and is further lifted by loads of sweet oak. Its sense of polish makes it remarkably approachable even now, but the wise choice is cellaring, and we would counsel five or six years of patience. ...Read More »
