2014 Domaine de Verquière Côtes du Rhône-Villages Plan de Dieu

Amazing quality for price, the Grenache on this CDR truly elevates the wine out of its price point. Great mouthfeel and roundness, raspberries, wild strawberries, plums, and a taste of black pepper to finish. Delicious and versatile.

Rich rich rich! Sauvignon Blanc with Semillon and the "secret weapon" (Sauvignon Gris) for texture and body. Floral aromas and the amazing mouth feel make this white stand out.

2015 Fürst Elbling Franken (1L)
Review Date: 04-03-2017
Awesome nose-ful of apple, melon, and a hint of honey that just gets even better on the palate. A bit richer than most "liter" wines, which makes it appropriate for any occasion. You'll be glad for the extra 250ml!

2012 Castellare di Castellina "I Sodi di San Niccolò" Toscana
Review Date: 04-03-2017
Great aromatic left lift with hints of cinnamon, strawberries, and raisins. Aromas were complimented by a fantastic texture and the classic Italian bite and acid that I look for. This wine has terroir and I love it.

2014 Baccinetti "La Saporoia" Rosso di Montalcino
Review Date: 04-03-2017
Fantastic aromas of wild strawberries, dried flowers, cedar, baking spices, and a light gamey-ness led me to believe this Italian was much more costly than it's advertised price. The wine was bright on the palate and had a great tannin profile.

2013 Hacienda Monasterio Ribera del Duero Crianza
Review Date: 04-01-2017
This dark-colored Ribera packs a lot of punch. Plenty of rich red fruit, earth, spices, chalk, and a soft, round mouthfeel with great texture and an even better tannin profile. Awesome.

2013 Dog Point Pinot Noir Marlborough
Review Date: 04-01-2017
A bit of smoke, candied dark fruits, spices, black licorice, and dark cherries. This is a beautiful pinot that shows true terroir.

2013 Xanadu Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Margaret River Western Australia
Review Date: 04-01-2017
Holy cow. Such an awesome expression of cabernet sauvignon in a true Margaret River style: medium + body, menthol, black fruits, cassis, a hint of white pepper, ripe tannins, and plenty of acid.

1989 Linkwood 27 Year Old "John Milroy" K&L Exclusive Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)
Review Date: 03-28-2017
Big and graceful, the Linkwood has a bit more peat tones and a fantastic woody density. Grassy notes on the palate truly give this Scotch a sense of place. Settle into the couch after dinner with a glass of this.

A little smokier, this is for someone who wants the whole package in their Scotch. It boasts beautiful, fresh cut cedar, a "clean-sugary" tone, and cigar box warmth. Delicious.

Chairman's Reserve "The Forgotten Casks" St Lucia Rum (750ml)

If the color doesn't get you excited, the aromas will. Wildflowers, fresh molasses, and aged cherry wood grace the nose and are followed by a crazy smooth mouth feel with just the right amount of bite. Perfect pairing with seasonal appetizers to open up the appetite.

2015 Domaine de Bila Haut "Les Vignes de Bila Haut" Côtes du Roussillon Villages
Review Date: 03-18-2017
This wine packs some heat. Aromas of violets and plums lead into baked fruits and a soft mouthfeel. Crank up the Led Zeppelin, toss the meat on the grill, kick your feet up, and relax.

2013 Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon Margaret River Western Australia
Review Date: 03-18-2017
Great example of the cabernet varietal picked at the optimal ripeness: clean, bright, aromatic, acidic, with Australia's classic pepper notes. Pair it with that food you've been craving and some Van Halen on a warm spring evening.

2010 Anderson's Conn Valley "Eloge" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Review Date: 03-14-2017
Beautiful red and black fruit, feminine and not overpowering, very well supported. Long, delicate finish. I could have sat and just smelled it for hours. A Bordeaux blend perfected by Napa.

2012 Lyeth Sonoma County Meritage
Review Date: 03-06-2017
I had a hard time putting the glass down... Merlot driven, plums and dark fruits shine and are backed beautifully by the Malbec, which contributes a strawberry flavor. Medium + body, incredibly smooth tannins, structured acidity, velvety stewed fruit, and a long finish with a hint of herbal notes makes this wine my new evening go-to. Pair it with something roasted or Netflix and a couch.

2013 Seven Hills Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 03-06-2017
For the lover of well-balanced, smoky cabs, this value from Washington had much more going for it than I had anticipated. The strawberry aromas are balanced by stewed black cherry and a dry woodiness. The palate shows plums, cocoa, and baking spices accompanied by a lingering finish. Grab two bottles: one while you cook the roast beef and the second to pair.

2013 Jacob's Creek "Two Lands" Cabernet Sauvignon South Australia
Review Date: 03-06-2017
A really cool "west-meets-down-under" wine collaboration project, the dark ruby color immediately got my attention. The fresh plum basket nose is nicely supported by light cedar and anise. The fresh fruit and baking spice flavors would go great with some BBQ sauce.

2016 De Wetshof "Limestone Hill - Unoaked" Chardonnay Robertson
Review Date: 03-06-2017
A great example of why South African white wines should not be overlooked! Pale gold color with striking yellow highlights and a mango buttery nose. This wine is alive on the taste buds and is refreshing enough on its own, but has the complexity to pair with lighter dishes. Id keep a cold one in the fridge for sushi take-out night.

2016 Bayten Sauvignon Blanc Constantia
Review Date: 03-06-2017
Amazing sauv blanc - drinks way out of its price range. Delicate pale yellow in color with an enticing bouquet of limes, apples, and fresh cut flowers. Great texture without being overly fruity. The kind of white wine I want on a sunny Friday to relax and let me know the work week is over.

2011 Domaine Dugois Vin de Paille Arbois (375ml)
Review Date: 02-22-2017
A stunning dessert wine! The orange-brown color yields wonderful aromas of brown sugar, maple, and a hint of nuttiness that is inviting for dessert wine fans who are looking for an extra nuance. It has a great mouth-coating effect balanced by an acidic backbone. The aromas come alive on the palate and are followed by a peanut butter finish. Pro-tip: drizzle it onto some vanilla or chocolate ice cream.

This great value cabernet from Lake County instantly makes it's presence know with a full, dark fruit bouquet, matching its deep ruby color. On the palate, black berry, cherry, and plum flavors are supported by inviting, ripe tannins and lively acidity that will leave you wanting another sip from the glass or bite of saucy pastas and juicy meats.
