1998 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac Back In Stock!
1998 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(78% cabernet sauvignon, 14% merlot, 6% cabernet franc and 2% petit verdot; 5.4 g/l total acidity; 13.2% alcohol): Dark ruby-red. Ripe blackcurrant aromas and flavors are lifted by pungent graphite, cedar and mineral notes. Balanced, pure and smooth in the mouth, with excellent perfume and precision. Finishes long and pure, with lingering cassis and leather notes. This is another Lynch-Bages that has picked up volume and flesh from bottle aging. It's a very classic Pauillac and a wine that can still improve with additional cellaring. (ID)" (1/2012) 91 points Vinous: "(78% ca ...Read More »

Full-bodied, with very well-integrated tannins and a long finish. Best after 2010." (3/2006) Jancis Robinson: "Racy, fragrant, polished and sophisticated. 92 points Wine & Spirits: "Located in the north of Pauillac, between Mouton and Pontet-Canet, this 123-acre estate is also part of G.F.A. Baronne Philippine de Rothschild. The aroma balances meaty fruit and mineral scents, and while the pungent red fruit is always there, the tannins seem to increase their intensity with air. They cover the pure black cherry flavor like a powerful skin, deep and plush with an iron-knuckle punch. The tannins don't go away, but their inner velvet eventually wins out. Offering broad, expansive, supple and silky tannin as well as loads of Asian plum sauce, blackcurrants, and sweet cherries, this wine is seductive, medium to full-bodied, and luscious. Lemon, pastry, white flowers, crushed rocks and a whisper of French oak all emerge from the glass in the seamless, totally polished Chardonnay. The aromas and flavors remain bright, focused and beautifully articulated from start to finish. This is another fabulous wine from Joseph Phelps. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. This is of course a pretty strong endorsement for the success Lagrange has realized in this difficult and very hot vintage. It is charged with plenty of brisk, palate-cleansing acidity but does not err to ungainly tartness, and while never too austere to be sipped on its own, it will make first-rate drinking with a platter of briny, fresh oysters." 2000 Duckhorn Napa Valley Merlot Back In Stock!
2000 Duckhorn Napa Valley Merlot

The 2000 Duckhorn Merlot is a blend of 84% Merlot and 16% Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2000 harvest year came early. After two late seasons in a row, it felt odd to be crushing grapes in August. The vintage had much in common with the 1997 vintage, with an early start and a l arger-than-expected crop. The quality of the red grapes bordered on greatness, with the resulting wines showing excellent depth and fruit. This wine is well-balanced, with soft tannins and rich fruit that make it approachable now; but it will continue to develop for several years.

2007 Robert Mondavi Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon Back In Stock!
2007 Robert Mondavi Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "A big, dense, brooding wine, concentrated and powerful in blackberries, cherries and cassis. The tannins are sandpapery, giving the mouth a scoury feeling added to by the acids. An interesting, complex young wine that’s well made and needs time to come around. Drink it over the next 6–8 years." (6/2011) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville (94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc) has deep black currant fruit as well as notes of lead pencil shavings, camphor, and spice. It is medium to full-bodied, elegant, and rich from beginning to end, with outstan ...Read More »

2003 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge, Pessac-Léognan Back In Stock!
2003 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge, Pessac-Léognan

92 points James Suckling: "I am loving the nose of white peaches, plums, and milk chocolate. So yummy. Full and juicy, with velvety tannins and a lovely freshness. Really charming, friendly, and enjoyable, but will still improve with age. Pull the cork after 2013." (5/2012) 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Full red. Plum, tobacco, leather, cedar and smoked meat on the nose. Fresh and aromatic in the mouth, with impressive retention of fruit for this superripe vintage. The flavors of red plum, tobacco, cocoa, mocha and spices really caress the palate. A spicy, firmly tannic but round midweight, with suave tannins an ...Read More »

2011 Tua Rita "Perlato Del Bosco" Toscana Back In Stock!
2011 Tua Rita "Perlato Del Bosco" Toscana

93 points Vinous: "The 2011 Perlato del Bosco is soft, open and accessible. This is a textured, resonant style of Sangiovese typical of the Tuscan coast in its breadth and volume. The warmth and resonance of the vintage comes through in spades. Dark red cherries, licorice flesh out on the dark, savory finish. This is a fabulous effort for the year." (8/2013) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Aromas recall tilled soil, black berries and blue flower. The soft, plush palate offers plum, black cherry compote and black pepper alongside round tannins. It’s ready, so enjoy soon." (5/2014) 90 points Wine & Spirits: "The scent of fresh strawberr ...Read More »

2012 Orin Swift "Papillon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend Back In Stock!
2012 Orin Swift "Papillon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Proprietary Red Papillon is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Another big-time winner, it was sourced from multiple AVAs, including Oakville, St. Helena, Howell Mountain and Rutherford. Gorgeous aromas of white chocolate, blackberries, blackcurrants, blue fruits and toasty oak are followed by a full-bodied, layered wine that builds incrementally. The tannins are sweet and well-integrated, and the acidity is sufficient for definition. It is a savory, hedonistic as well as intellectually pleasing wine ...Read More »

2005 Woodenhead Russian River Valley Pinot Noir Back In Stock!
2005 Woodenhead Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

This vintage of Woodenhead Russian River Valley Pinot Noir blends fruit from Russian River South, Buena Tierra and Martinelli Vineyards. Like a glass full of gemstones, this highly perfumed wine evokes aromas of Naked Ladies and Musk Rose as well as brown sugar, strawberries, raspberries, cardamom, herbs and smoke. On the palate those gems gush with cherry cola, red licorice and strawberry rhubarb pies flavors. The wine finishes with touches of flint, chalky and earth and just a hint of rich, well-integrated oak. A delight to drink now, but should cellar... Read More »

2003 du Tertre, Margaux Back In Stock!
2003 du Tertre, Margaux

92 points James Suckling: "This is very new world in the nose with loads of ripe, raisiny, and spicy fruit. Full bodied, with a round and chewy finish. Very extracted, but I think it will come around very well in the end." (3/2011) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Dark red with a garnet rim. Very sexy, inviting aromas of ripe red cherry, rose petal, mint, cinnamon and white pepper; this has to be one of the freshest, least overripe noses of all 2003 Bordeaux. Then remarkably vibrant and pure on the palate, with Cabernet Franc-dominated flavors of strawberry, violet, and cocoa complicated by a delicate white pepper ...Read More »

1990 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac Back In Stock!
1990 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A remarkable vintage for Pichon Longueville Baron, 1990 is one of this estate’s two or three finest wines made in the last 40 years. Still inky/blue/purple-tinged to the rim, it reveals an extraordinary bouquet of charcoal, incense, creme de cassis, blue and black fruits, and a hint of licorice as well as an impressively long finish. While drinkable, its evolution is extremely slow, and I would not be surprised to see it last another two decades or more. (RP)" (6/2009) 94 points Wine Spectator: "More tobacco and cedar character on the nose, with hints of ripe fruit. Full-bodied, yet ...Read More »
