2018 Bonpas "Dames de Bonpas" Côtes du Rhône-Villages Plan de Dieu
Back In Stock!
95 points Decanter: "Lovely brambly nose and crunchy red berry palate. This is beautifully balanced and very drinkable even in its youth with very good length. Quite a charmer and great value for money. *Gold Medal Decanter World Wine Awards 2019*" (06/2018)

2008 Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
96 points Wine Enthusiast: "While still young, this Champagne has all the makings of greatness. Produced from grand cru vineyards, it already balances ripe white fruits with a firm structure that will age well. It’s relatively dry and has plenty of acidity, which will also aid in the longevity.. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (12/2019) K&L Notes: This all Grand Cru blend, which is composed of 50% each Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, is the best I have ever tasted from Laurent-Perrier, and should go the distance if you decide to cellar it. Don't miss this fantasti...

This 100% estate grown, Grand Cru blanc de blancs is made entirely with old Chardonnay selections from Mesnil, Cramant, and Oger. This is our number one most re-purchased Champagne, and it is often sold out!

97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Luxurious and layered, this nicely mature wine has a broad range of complex aromas and flavors, from fig to mushroom to butter and baking spices that ride a supple texture and linger for a long finish. The very fine bead, plush texture and a creamy richness that verges on sweetness are practically irresistible. Best through 2025. *Cellar Selection* (JG)" (04/2019) 95 points Wine Spectator: "Extravagant, yet balanced and refined, with lush, crisp brioche, fresh ginger and spice, roasted hazelnut and Asian pear flavors that fa...

100% Pinot Noir with no malolactic fermentation. Strawberry and raspberry nose with toasty notes and jammy scents. On the palate, Morello cherries, a touch of cranberry, ample structure, and a racy finish. Lovely as an aperitif or with white meats such as chicken or pork.

Fynbos is an abundant floral system unique to the South African landscape that includes over 9000 species of plant within its natural habitat. It is from this singular botanical phenomenon that Inverroche gently and sustainably procures the botanical foundation for their gins. Not only is this a well-crafted classic gin with vibrant juniper notes, citrus edges, and aromatic complexity - it is all that and a singular distilled expression of the complex and vibrant ecosystem of Fynbos! There's just nothing else like it.

96 points Decanter: "Deliciously ripe pear, apricot, citrus and exotic melon underpinned by a lean, mineral purity; vibrant and fresh with a mouthwatering juiciness and a very long finish." (06/2019) K&L Notes: A winemaking cooperative in the Mâconnais comprising members who seek out the most "secret" plots of earth to make their distinctive wines. Winery notes: "A limpid and brilliant wine, with aromas of white flowers, citrus fruits and yellow fruits, offering roundness and sweetness on the palate. Typical of its name, this white Mâcon-Villages offer...

90 points Whisky Advocate: "If you wondered when you saw '50%,' this is indeed bottled in bond whiskey, with all the requirements that go with it. The nose is just this side of hot and brings parched corn, sawn maple wood, spicy hard candy, and dry spearmint leaf. Bright and spicy on the tongue; more candy and honey, and hints of teaberry and licorice that develop into the finish. A better package of flavor and price than the earlier Taylor releases; quite enjoyable. (LB, Spring 2013)" K&L Notes: The Colonel E.H. Taylor Bourbon is named for one of the f...

This exotic, all-Mesnil Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs is made in oak barrels coopered from oak grown in Mesnil. It is named after Severine Launois, the current generation making the wines. We were only able to secure five cases of this!

93 points Vinous: "The 2015 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is a blend of six sites, all of them in the lower part of the Sonoma Coast in the Petaluma Wind Gap. The power of blending fruit across several sites gives the Sonoma Coast Pinot striking interplay between riper and more savory elements. The brightness and purity of the fruit is simply striking. Even better, the 2015 is a superb value. Fruit sources are Gaps Crown, Sunchase, Parliament Hill, Griffin's Lair, Bootlegger's Hill and Castelli. (AG)" (03/2017) K&L Notes: Winemaker's Notes: "Deep saturated b...

2017 John Duval "Entity" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia
Back In Stock!
99 points James Halliday: "From old vines in five districts, fermented with submerged cap, matured in French hogsheads (32% new) for 15 months. Complex and rich from the first whiff through to the aftertaste, not wasting a single berry in this great vintage. So much power, such elegance." (01/2019) 94 points Wine Spectator: "Vibrant, with blackberry, blueberry and spiced plum flavors that are fresh, plump and generous at the core. Impressively elegant and seamless, featuring fresh earth, spice and floral notes that linger effortlessly alongside fine-gr...

99 points James Suckling: "Very complex aromas of fresh flowers, blackberries and black licorice follow through to a full body, integrated tannins and a long and linear finish. Focused and racy. The tannins are so polished. Better in 2022, but already such a joy to try. " (12/2018) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Petit Verdot (25%), Merlot (20%) and Sangiovese (5%), the 2016 Solengo is a terrific wine and I enjoyed my sample down to the very last drop that I coaxed from the bottle with happy enthusiasm. Th...

2012 Launois Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne
Back In Stock!
The Underground Wine Letter says it best: "Launois Champagne was founded in 1872. Today, the Launois family owns nearly 46 acres of vineyards mostly in the Grand Cru village of Mesnil. All Launois Champagnes are Blanc de Blancs and all are Grand Cru. This producer consistently makes some of the very best Blanc de Blancs Champagnes, and the quality/price ratio is exceptional. This is a must visit if you are in Champagne, not only for the fabulous Champagne, but to visit Bernard Launois's private museum. It encompasses a large portion of the Mesnil villag...

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "The Girardin family owns this small parcel of Pinot Noir on the Côte de Beaune slopes. Red-berry flavors are stirring behind the smoky toastiness, still loaded with wood aging. *Editor's Choice* (RV)" (10/2019) K&L Notes: Château de la Charrière is one of our most popular direct import producers and a label that easily represents the best bang for your buck we carry in Burgundy. Formerly run by Yves Girardin, the business is now run by his young son Benoit, who definitely has modernized the winemaking a bit since his first v...

Domaine Renaud is a small operation, making Mâcon, Pouilly-Fuissé, and St. Veran from 12 hectares of estate vineyards. Their cellar is modern, and they use upright ovals for many of the wines, and stainless steel for others. This value is a great alternative to California Chardonnay and an entry into white Burgundy.

Praise by Jeb Dunnuck in Wine Advocate: "In case you haven’t been following any of the Wine Advocate reports over the past decade, Domaine de La Janasse, under the leadership of siblings Christophe and Isabelle Sabon, is one of the top two or three estates in the Southern Rhône."

94 points Vinous: "The 2015 Syrah (Sonoma Coast) is a very serious wine. Then again, in 2015 proprietor Pax Mahle did not bottle his Armaugh, Majik or Walker-Vine Hill vineyard designates. The little fruit he was able to harvest off those sites when into this, the appellation-level Syrah. A big, tannic wine, the 2015 possesses notable depth and structure. Black fruit, smoke, iron, blood and savory herbs are some of the signatures in this bold, pungent Syrah. This is one of the many gems in the Wind Gap range. (AG)" (03/2017)

90 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Another great value is the 2015 Skylark Red Belly, a deliciously gulpable blend of 42% Carignan, 30% Grenache, and 28% Syrah brought up in neutral barrels. It has loads of mulled cherries, red currants, leather, and peppery herb aromatics, medium body, a forward, supple, elegant texture, and a great finish, all making for a seriously easy quaffing, high quality red worth drinking." (11/2018) K&L Notes: Skylark is a micro-small winery operation spearheaded by two wine industry veterans cum San Francisco taste makers: John Lancast...

99 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2008 La Grande Année is another brilliant 2008 that delivers the goods. Straight-up awesome notes of stone fruits, white flowers, honeysuckle, and an incredible, liquid rock-like minerality all emerge from the glass, and it develops more nuance, spice, toasted bread, and an almost Alsatian Riesling-like petrol character over the course of the evening. It’s a full-bodied, rich, powerful Champagne, yet like the top 2008s, it has brilliant precision, purity, and focus. It’s unquestionably one of the finest versions of this cuvée ...

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The NV Pedro Ximenez Solera 1927 is non-vintage, but does have some 1927 material in it. This is totally dark brown/amber with notes of figs, toffee, caramel syrup, molasses and coffee. It is dense, super sweet, intense, rich and an amazingly, unctuously textured, thick beverage to consume slowly and introspectively after a meal. Drink now through 2050, or even longer. (RP)" (11/2015) 95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The NV Alvear Solera 1927 always seems to deliver, and releases have been incredibly consistent over the...

94 points Vinous: "The 2016 Chardonnay Venus, a selection of the two best barrels in the cellar, is fabulous. Bright citrus and floral notes are beautifully lifted throughout. Light tropical inflections develop with time in the glass, adding nuance as well as character. The 2016 Venus is fabulous. That's all there is to it. (AG)" (09/2018)

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coudert's brilliant 2018 Fleurie Cuvée Tardive offers up a deep and incipiently complex bouquet featuring raspberries, mulberries, rose petals, violets and cracked black pepper. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and layered, with an abundance of rich and powdery structuring tannins, ripe but lively acids and a long, lingering finish. While this is built for the long haul—its name alluding to the aging potential of this old-vine cuvée, not to a later harvest—its enveloping profile and perfectly mature p...

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Lightly wood aged, this wine from a single parcel is rich with spice as well as buttery white fruits. Ripeness is lifted by acidity that brings freshness to this textured, mineral wine. It is still developing and will be better from 2021." (10/2019) K&L Notes: Château de la Charrière is one of our most popular direct import producers and a label that easily represents the best bang for your buck we carry in Burgundy. Formerly run by Yves Girardin, the business is now run by his young son Benoit, who definitely has modernized...

Although not labeled as such, this Champagne is all 2008, and is the same wine that 'broke the internet' when we had it in 750ml. This Champagne is composed of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir, exclusively from estate grown, organic vineyards in the Aube department. This wine shows the electric, refreshing character of this great vintage now so don't miss out on this unbelievable value!

2013 Robert Goyette Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon (Previously $27) (Previously $27)
Back In Stock!
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Attractive deep black raspberry and blackcurrant fruit are pure and impressively dense in the dark ruby/purple-colored 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon. It tastes like a hybrid example of Bordeaux with the ripeness and purity of Northern California fruit. The wine has attractive aromatics, beautiful body and excellent balance. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. (RP) 89+" (03/2016) K&L Notes: Robert Goyette got his start with the founding of La Crema winery back in 1979, and after selling it in the mid-1980s has continued making ...

A 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from 13 hectares of sustainably farmed vineyards. From the winery: "Very complex with a lot of aromas of ripe, fleshy fruits like apricot. You will appreciate its brioche and its subtle woody flavors. Fine expression and subtly nuanced."

93 points Vinous: "The 2012 Syrah Nellessen Vineyard captures the essence of this radiant, south-facing site in its rich, inviting personality. Here the flavors are bold, broad and creamy, with notable textural depth and resonance. The 100% whole clusters adds aromatics and brightness, but there is no denying the principal signature here is fruit. The generous vintage and exposure of the vintage have baked out some of the wilder flavors that are typical of Syrahs, which means the Nellessen will appeal most to readers who enjoy juicy, fruit-driven Syrahs....

95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Inky purple. Exotic bouquet combines wild dark berry, cherry compote and licorice, lifted by notes of potpourri and cracked pepper. At once dense and juicy, with a compelling sweetness to its intense blackberry, boysenberry and violet pastille flavors. Bright acidity and a deep Moroccan spice quality give this wine energy and aromatic persistence. The blue fruits continue on the finish, which refuses to let up. " (06/2011) 95 points Vinous: "Inky purple. Exotic bouquet combines wild dark berry,...

94 points Vinous: "The 2013 Pinot Noir Sun Chase Vineyard is the most intensely mineral of the 2013 Pinots I tasted, much of that coming from the use of 100% whole clusters, which seems to add quite a bit of energy, especially when comparing the 2013 to the 2012. Graphite, slate, crushed rocks and bright red fruit are all supported by beams of firm tannin. The 2013 finishes with substantial energy and tension, but it is also going to need time to soften. 94+ (AG)" (01/2015)

94 points Vinous: "An absolutely stellar wine, the 2014 Chardonnay Gap's Crown is fabulous and also one of the finest Chardonnays readers will find in this vintage. Aromatically nuanced and beguiling, the 2014 speaks to elegance above all else. Orchard fruit, white flowers and a touch of reduction give the Gap's Crown much of its allure. What a gorgeous wine this is. (AG)" (02/2016)

95 points Wine & Spirits: "Wind Gap is Pax Mahle's latest project, based on vineyards located at gaps in the coastal hills where inland heat draws the cool ocean air over the vines. Griffins Lair is in the Petaluma Wind Gap, a southwest-facing slope planted on coarse gravel and rock. The conditions restrain the young vines (02 was the first vintage), bypassing the clumsy vigor new plantings often express and creating a youthful brilliance instead. The structure is racy, opening up as the scent of the wine grows more compelling with each sip. It has the c...

94 points Vinous: "The 2013 Pinot Noir Woodruff Vineyard is intensely floral, savory and punchy, with tons of bright red fruit supported by veins of underlying acidity and minerality. Lifted, floral and precise, with plenty of character from this sandy, terraced site, the 2013 is another stand out from Wind Gap and Pax Mahle. The 100% whole clusters seem quite well-suited to the perfumed style here. (AG)" (01/2015)

Special Order Only! Will take 3-7 business days to receive this product before it can be shipped.

93 points Vinous: "The 2014 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) is deep, pliant and incredibly inviting, with a fabulous combination of pliant fruit, expressive aromatics and superb persistence. Rose petal, mint, savory herbs and game add the closing shades of inflection. There is something (a lot) to be said for the wisdom of blending fruit from different sites to make a complete, balanced wine. Wine Gap's appellation-level wines often prove that point eloquently, as is very much the case here. (AG)" (02/2016)

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Ideal for mixing nuanced cocktails that don’t taste like dessert, this bittersweet coffee-based amaro offers a mix of almond, chocolate and coffee, finishing with cardamom and bitter orange peel complexity. Made with coffee from Kansas City roaster Thou Mayest, and briefly barrel aged. (KN)" (01/2017) K&L Notes: Producer's notes: "Our Caffé Amaro is a one of a kind take on Coffee Liqueurs. Amaro (the Italian word for ‘bitter’) is a category of liqueur characterized by its bitter, herbal, and slightly sweet flavor which stems...

The now famous Lous Pibous (The Poplars) is located in the prime growing area of Bas-Armagnac. The reclusive owners of the estate, who are yet to be identified and have caretakers who manage and live at the property, had made Armagnac for decades before deciding to get serious about it in the late 80s. The converted all their vineyards to the finicky Folle Blanche grape because they were convinced that it had potential to produce the finest eau-de-vie. They built a new dry cellar on high ground right next to the family home. They purchased new casks for ...

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Chardonnay Brosseau is one of the great wines of the year. Crushed rocks, gun flint, graphite, lemon and green pears are all alive in the glass. The 2010 is ultimately all about energy, tension and pure minerality, qualities that aren't often associated with California Chardonnay, but that are very much present here. Proprietor Pax Mahle fermented 60% of the juice in concrete and 40% in oak. Simply put, the Brosseau is a stunner. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. This is another exciting, captivating set...

93 points Vinous: "The 2015 Chardonnay Gap's Crown is gorgeous. Rich, powerful and phenolic, the 2015 Gap's Crown clearly has the frame to handle the natural intensity of the year. Lemon confit, sage, chamomile and white pepper confer brightness to this large-scaled, ample and beautifully expressive Chardonnay from Wind Gap. All the elements fall into place effortlessly. (AG)"

91 points Vinous: "The 2015 Chardonnay (Sonoma Coast) opens with distinctive, mineral and soil-inflections that underpins the rich, dense 2015 fruit. Apricot, chamomile and lightly honeyed notes are pushed to the foreground in this powerful, dense Chardonnay. (AG)" (03/2017)

92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2018 Ventoux Domaine is another winner that should be snatched up by savvy readers. A blend of 50% Grenache and 25% each of Syrah and Grenache, brought up in one-third each foudre, barrels, and concrete eggs, it offers a vivid bouquet of violet, ground pepper, bouquet garni, and both red and blue fruits. Medium to full-bodied, rounded, and polished, it has the fruit-forward charm of the vintage yet still packs ample concentration. Drink it over the coming 4-6 years (or more). Drink through 2025+" (08/2019) K&L Notes: Located...

94 points Vinous: "The 2015 Pinot Noir Gaps Crown Vineyard emerges from the upper part of the vineyard, where the soils are at their thinnest. Those conditions yield a powerful, tannic Pinot built on structure and intensity. Dark stone fruit, violet, lavender and exotic spice abound. Ample, large-scaled and virile, the 2015 is remarkably nuanced for such a big wine. This is a striking wine from Pax Mahle and Wind Gap. 94+ (AG)" (03/2017)

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Light, mellow and mildly spiced, this 12-year-old blended Scotch offers rich vanilla, honey and crème brûlée notes, finishing long with citrus and spice. Feels soft and easy to enjoy. *Best Buy* (KN)" (12/2014)
