2017 Terrassen Finger Lakes New York Gamay Noir

Terrassen is the wine project of noted sommelier Thomas Pastuszak. Fromt he producer: "Gamay sourced from a 20-year-old vineyard (Beaujolais cuttings) on the West Side of Cayuga Lake (our friends at Sheldrake Point Winery, in Ovid, NY), planted on limestone, clay & shale. Harvest followed by gentle foot-trodding and a 9-day cold-soak (partial Carbonic Maceration). 100% Whole Cluster, fermented half with Indigenous Yeasts and half with a Burgundy yeast for nearly 2 months in open-top fermenters, 2x daily punch-downs. Moved to old barrique for malolactic f ...

2016 Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair Moulin-a-Vent Vieilles Vignes

90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Moderate reduction masks the underlying fruit but I doubt that it will last. Otherwise the succulent, dense and powerful flavors evidence a really lovely texture before concluding in a mildly rustic, serious and youthfully austere finish. This too is worth considering provided that you have the patience to allow it at least some time in bottle first. *Outstanding, Top Value*" (01/2018)

2017 Daniel Bouland Chiroubles Chantenay

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Chiroubles offers up a pretty bouquet of raspberries, red cherries, plums and dark chocolate, lent lift by pretty floral top notes. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and succulent, with a layered core of fruit, fine tannins and mouthwatering acids. It hails from a steep hillside site and is matured in stainless steel. (WK)" (09/2018)

2016 Clos de la Roilette Fleurie "Griffe du Marquis"

93 points John Gilman: "The 2016 Griffe du Marquis bottling was really showing beautifully at the time of my visit. The concentrated, sappy aspect to the fruit of the 2016 vintage here has absolutely devoured the oak impression of the wine and this characteristic augurs very, very well for the evolution of this fine young wine! The nose jumps from the glass in a vibrant blend of sweet cassis, black cherries, raw cocoa, gamebird, a lovely base of soil tones, a nice touch of vanillin oak and a pungent topnote of violets. On the palate the wine is pure, ful ...

2017 Daniel Bouland Cote de Brouilly "Cuvée Melanie"

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a south-facing site near Château Thivin, the 2017 Côte de Brouilly Cuvée Melanie exhibits a deep bouquet of blackberry, wild berries, grilled meat, dark chocolate and licorice. On the palate, it's full-bodied, rich and ample, with a juicy core of fruit, ripe but chewy structuring tannins in abundance and a gourmand, layered profile. (WK)" (09/2018)

2017 Domaine Marcel Lapierre Julienas "Cousins"

David Schildknecht writes: "The irreplaceable and virtually irrepressible Marcel Lapierre succumbed to unrelenting melanoma just after the 2010 harvest was completed and will be sorely missed among us. His son Mathieu – who had been assuming an increasingly important role at the domaine in recent years – has admirably advanced their labors, resulting in wines that display the levity and “digestabilite” as well as textural caress and subtle complexity that one has long associated with the crafts of this domaine."

2017 Brick House Ribbon Ridge Gamay Noir

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "The winery continues to explore and improve its Gamays, this one a mix of two clones now 25 years old. It's full, fruity and rounded out with tangy raspberry fruit and highlights of orange peel. Tasty and tart, it drinks just as well on the second day as on the first, with a lightly mineral suggestion of black cherry soda as it finishes. *Editors’ Choice* (PG)" (04/2019)

2016 Brick House Ribbon Ridge Gamay Noir

90 points Wine & Spirits: "This starts out savory, all bramble and wild herbs, even a whiff of beef broth. The flavors are tense and fruit driven, with an assertive and appealing red-cherry through-line and enough acidity to pair with a veal chop." (04/2018)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made with 100% carbonic maceration, the pale to medium ruby-purple colored 2017 Gamay Noir Seven Springs Vineyard has a bright, fresh nose of raspberry leaves, strawberry jam and red cherries with notes of crushed rock. Light to medium-bodied, it's very fresh and juicy in the mouth with a huge burst of acidity, tart red fruits and soft tannins, finishing long and fruity. (EB)" (08/2018)

2016 Château des Jacques Moulin-à-Vent Clos La Roche (Previously $37)

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This well-structured, layered wine offers beautiful ripe cherry and red-berry fruits. Aged in wood, it has spice as well as great richness. Its fresh edge gives a lift at the end while the tannins will let it age. Owned by the Beaune negociant Louis Jadot, this wine should be kept until 2021." (04/2019) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A subtle touch of oak spice mingles with notes of raspberry, cherries and plums, introducing the 2016 Moulin-à-Vent La Roche, a deep, medium to full-bodied wine that's ample, layered ...
