1995 Clerc-Milon, Pauillac

94 points Wine Spectator: "Gorgeous aromas of black licorice, currant and blackberry. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long, caressing finish. Very tight, yet with air it comes around wonderfully. Give it time. This was always one of the buys of the vintage.--'95/'96 Bordeaux retrospective. (JS, Web-2007)" Jancis Robinson: "Still some purple in the crimson. Less obvious nose than the Armailhac 1995. Hint of mint, solid and sweetly polished. Good effort to cover what must have bene pretty dry tannins, but less flavour than the Armailhac. Fresh and b ...

1995 Flora Springs "Hillside Reserve" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Readers looking for blockbuster Cabernet Sauvignon offerings should check out the 1995 and 1996 Hillside Reserve Cabernets from Flora Springs. The winery tends to give this wine 12 months aging in old oak barrels. At the conclusion of that period, the wines are moved into 100% new oak for 10 months. At that point they are racked into tank and bottled unfiltered. This is not dissimilar to how Caymus handles its Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon. Sadly, only about 800 cases of these exquisite Cabernets are produ ...

Top Pick!
1995 The Rare Armagnac Collection "Venus" (Domaine de Pouchegu) 23 Year Old K&L Exclusive Vintage Armagnac (750ml) (Previously $120)

The Rare Armagnac Collection is a new small scale bottler seeking to unearth rare and unique Armagnacs from small estates across the region that would otherwise not be available. We're extremely lucky to have stumbled upon them and this first parcel that they acquired from the famous estate in the best part of the Ténarèze. We first visited Domaine Pouchegu in 2013. There Pierre Laporte was matter of fact about what made his Armagnacs so good. Lots of care in the vines, good amount of sable fauve in the soils, highering the best distiller and a commitmen ...

1995 Branaire-Ducru, St-Julien

91 points Wine Spectator: "Currant and black licorice, with a coffee undertone. Plummy. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long caressing finish. A beauty. (JS, Web-2007)" 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A beauty in the elegant, restrained, finesse school of winemaking, the dark ruby/purple-colored 1995 Branaire exhibits a floral, cranberry, cherry, and black currant-scented nose intermixed with high quality toasty new oak. Medium-bodied, with excellent definition, supple tannin, and an attractive, alluring personality, this pleasant, mea ...

1995 Sociando-Mallet, Haut-Médoc

88-91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Very typical Medoc (i.e., cabernet sauvignon) aromas of blackcurrant and herbs, plus some vanillin oak. Firm and fresh on the palate; dense yet fine for this wine (from the higher Cabernet percentage?). Tannins are already nicely integrated. Lots of underlying fat. Compares favorably to many top names of the northern Médoc, should be a terrific value. (ST)" (05/1996) 91 points Wine Spectator: "A real fruit-bomb, with expressive aromas of currants, blackberries and vanilla. Full-bodied and chunky ...

1995 Forman Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red-ruby. Complex, subtle aromas of currants, spices, flowers, loam and meat. Velvety-smooth in the mouth but given clarity by lovely acids. This is quite intensely flavored but extremely elegant and understated, with a complete absence of hard edges. Intriguing mineral and floral nuances in the mouth. Very long, subtly fruity aftertaste features completely buffered tannins. This is exactly the kind of cabernet that might be underappreciated in a blind tasting against darker, more powerfully t ...

1995 Giscours, Margaux

92 points Wine Spectator: "A very refined red. One of the best Giscours in years. Wonderful aromas of crushed raspberries, blackberries and other fruits. Full-bodied, with very fine tannins and a long, caressing finish. All in finesse. Best after 2001. (JS)" (01/1998) 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium-deep ruby-red. Initially inexpressive nose opens with aeration to reveal aromas of dark plum, caramel, coffee, underbrush and a whiff of leafy reduction. Sweeter and richer in the mouth than the nose suggests, offering very rip ...

1995 Glen Keith 21 Year Old "John Milroy - K&L Exclusive" Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml) (Previously $110)

This wonderful cask of Glen Keith was selected by our friend Doug McIvor for its exceptional balance and character. The distillery in Keith has been rare in modern times due to its closure from 2000 until 2013. While it served as a partner to neighboring Strathisla as one of the component malts in the Chivas Blend, it was also the site of much experimentation and some unusual production techniques. There they developed unique yeast strains and alternative ways of peating whisky--namely the use of extremely peaty water to ferment the mash. Keith has long ...

1995 Allt-A-Bhainne 22-Year-Old "John Milroy" Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml) (Previously $120)

About this producer: "Allt-a-Bhainne translates from the Gaelic as “stream of milk”. The distillery was founded in 1975 so is a relatively recent addition to the Speyside landscape. It has the capacity to produce 4 million litres of spirit per annum although it is rarely seen bottled as a single malt."
