1989 M. Chapoutier "La Mordorée" Côte-Rôtie

Robert Parker writes: "Chapoutier's aim is to produce an exceptionally perfumed, soft, elegant cuvee of Cote Rotie, and a luxury cuvee that takes Cote Rotie's black-raspberry, exotic fruitiness and elegance to the limits of intensity, a la Marcel Guigal's La Mouline."

1990 M. Chapoutier "La Mordorée" Côte-Rôtie

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The saturated dark ruby/purple color is followed by an awesome nose that offers copious quantities of sweet black fruits, flowers, toasty new oak, and smoky bacon fat. In the mouth there is superb concentration, a sweet, expansive texture, and a mind-boggling, long finish. This lavishly rich Cote Rotie, which is already delicious, is capable of lasting for 10-15 years. (RP)" (12/1996) 91 points Wine Spectator: "A muscular wine that still achieves great elegance, with restrained ripe plum, tobacco and tar flavor ...

2007 E. Guigal "La Turque" Côte-Rôtie

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cote Rotie La Turque’s inky/blue/purple color is followed by aromas of asphalt, charcoal, graphite, barbecue smoke, roasted meats/aged beef, blackberries, cassis and violets. With huge body, massive concentration, silky tannins, sweet glycerin and a layered, multidimensional mouthfeel, it can be drunk now or cellared for 25 years. (RP)" (12/2011) 96 points Wine Spectator: "***Collectibles*** Very distinctive, with ganache and espresso aromas and well-structured layers of blackberry, mulled plum, roaste ...

2016 Ferraton Père et Fils "L'Eglantine" Côte-Rôtie

94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 Côte Rôtie L’Eglantine comes from the Rozier, Brocard, and Champon lieux-dits and was destemmed and aged all in neutral barrels. It has beautiful elegance as well as classic notes of black raspberries, toasted spices, cured meats, and dried flowers. With medium to full-bodied richness, sweet, rounded tannins, and a forward style, it's one sexy, Côte Rôtie to drink over the coming decade or so." (12/2018) 94 points James Suckling: "This has attractive blackberries and mocha with a very fragrant, fresh and attractively sp ...

Top Pick!
2016 Delas Freres "La Landonne" Côte-Rôtie (Previously $190)

94-96 points Vinous: "Bright purple. A hugely perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red and blue fruits, incense, candied flowers and Asian spices, and suave vanilla and mineral notes build in the glass. Impressively concentrated but lively as well, offering alluringly sweet black raspberry, boysenberry spicecake and violet flavors that are braced by a spine of juicy acidity. Shows outstanding clarity and mineral thrust on the finish, which emphatically echoes the floral and blue fruit notes. (JR)" (06/2018) 96 points Wine Spectator: "Alluring, with warm fruitc ...

2016 Rene Rostaing "Ampodium" Côte-Rôtie

94 points Wine Spectator: "This is very solidly built, nearly bristling with briary energy along the edges while the core of steeped plum, cherry and currant fruit cruises through. Mouthwatering savory, tobacco and olive notes score the finish, all set against a lovely floral accent in the background. (JM)" (02/2019) 93 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Moving to the 2016s and starting with the 2016 Côte Rôtie Ampodium, this beautiful, silky, incredibly elegant wine has classic notes of red and black fruits, spring flowers, hints of bacon fat as well as green olive ...

2015 E. Guigal "La Mouline" Côte-Rôtie

98-100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "On another level, and unquestionably the best of the three vintages, the 2015 Côte Rôtie La Mouline sports an inky purple color as well as an off-the-charts bouquet of black currants, smoked herbs, spring flowers, gamey meats, and acacia flowers. Massively concentrated, opulent, and as sexy as wine gets, it reminds me of the 1978 La Mouline and has perfection written all over it. If you can afford it, this is a magical, legendary wine in the making that will keep for 4-5 decades." (12/2018) 97-99 points Robert Parker's Wine ...

2016 Clos de la Bonnette "Cuvée Prenelle" Côte-Rôtie (Previously $70)

Domaine Clos de la Bonnette was purchased in 1992 by wife and husband team, Isabelle Guiller and Henri Montabonnet. Isabelle had her eye on this abandoned vineyard site for many years before they moved forward. The main reason that the site remained unoccupied was because the hillsides were in complete disarray, as many of the stone retaining walls had collapsed over the decades due to neglect. Restoring this property could only be done as a labor of love, not a commercial venture. Isabelle and Henri did most of the restoration themselves, rebuilding the ...

2015 E. Guigal "La Turque" Côte-Rôtie

97-100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2015 Côte Rôtie La Turque (93% Syrah and 7% Viognier) is straight-up thrilling stuff and offers a massive, full-bodied style that stays seamless, incredibly elegant, and perfectly balanced. It doesn’t have the sheer weight or exotic quality of the La Mouline, yet gives up textbook crème de cassis, crushed rocks, violets, and graphite aromas and flavors. With fine tannins and a stacked mid-palate, it’s going to require 5-7 years of bottle age." (12/2018) 98-100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The potentially perfec ...
