2016 Thistledown "Cunning Plan" Shiraz Langhorne Creek

94 points James Halliday: "The youthful colour has the depth to promise abundant black fruits, whole berry fermentation underlining the promise. It has the succulence of Langhorne Creek, but with a raft of flowery/spicy notes not so common in the region. Mocha oak adds another dimension, cuddling up to the plump tannins. Hedonistic? You bet." 1998 Birchwood "Twin Rivers" Cabernet Sauvignon

89 points Robert Parker: "The 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Twin Rivers comes from a 40-year old vineyard. Production is small (250 cases), but the wine is very good, even excellent, with an elegant black currant, spice box, cedar, and dried herb-scented nose, attractive, medium to full-bodied flavors, low acidity, sweet tannin, and a clean finish. Drink it over the next 7-8 years." (08/2000)

1998 Noon "Eclipse" Grenache/Shiraz Langhorne Creek South Australia

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-purple. Vibrant aromas of cassis, black plum and violet. Very dense and concentrated but unevolved and tightly wound; vibrant acidity gives the primary flavors a juicy, penetrating quality. Finishes very long, with tannins that are quite firm but not hard. Should reward aging. (ST) 91+" (07/2000) K&L Notes: Noon's signature red, the 1998 "Eclipse" is a blend based on Grenache (approx 65%) with the balance old vine Shiraz (approx 35%). "We are not magicians with our winemaking methods," ...

1999 Noon "Reserve" Cabernet Sauvignon Langhorne Creek South Australia

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve could easily be called a Pauillac from Australia. Dense ruby/purple, a classic Cabernet nose of cedar wood, smoke, cassis, mineral, lead pencil, and new oak soars from the glass. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, with fabulous concentration and multi-layered texture, high levels of glycerin, and a seamless, concentrated, long finish with well-integrated tannin, acidity, and alcohol. This is no wimpish wine at 14.6% alcohol, but sadly, there are only 290 cases of this 100% Cabern ...

2004 Noon "Reserve" Cabernet Sauvignon Langhorne Creek

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve exudes notes of creme de cassis, marmite, some dried herbs and meat with a touch of menthol. Full and generous, it has great mid-palate weight supported by a crisp acid line and medium-firm, fine-grained tannins. It finishes long. Drink it now to 2024+. (LPB)" (02/2014) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "The wine now bears a South Australia appellation because the fruit is coming from Langhorne Creek. This vintage clocks in at 15.5% alcohol, with nutmeg ...

Of the 2001 Noon "Reserve" Shiraz Langhorne Creek South Australia,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2001 Shiraz Reserve is a riveting example of what is so exciting about old vine Shiraz. Produced from a 35-40-year old McLaren Vale vineyard, it possesses amazing aromatics, purity, texture, and richness. This 2001, which tips the scales at a lofty 15.8% alcohol, is intense and full-bodied as well as remarkably elegant for a wine of such mass and intensity.
