1966 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien (3L) (Soiled label, oxidized capsule)

93 points Vinous: "The 1966 Gruaud Larose from magnum is much better than the solitary bottle previously encountered. It has a beguiling nose that shows up the curmudgeonly 1945: black fruit, cedar and touches of licorice and mint make up one of the most vivacious bouquets you will find in this vintage on the Left Bank. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, and maybe a little foursquare, like many 1966s, yet fresh and vital, offering good tension and notes of pencil lead, autumn leaves and a touch of black pepper towards a finish that feels very ...

1966 Taylor Vintage Port (cracked capsules/signs of past seepage) (Previously $240)

97 points Vinous: "The 1966 Taylor's Vintage Port is a hugely overlooked Port. The bouquet is typical 1966 and oddly mirrors a Left Bank Bordeaux: conservative and masculine, yet detailed and offering attractive scents of cigar box, mahogany bureau, sandalwood and ripe cherry. The palate is foursquare with wonderful structure, spicier and more vigorous than the 1963 with greater persistence and focus. There is a wonderful bead of acidity and it feels virile and fresh on the finish that has beguiling symmetry. Later it reveals wild strawberry, cigar box, ...

1966 Trotanoy, Pomerol (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1966 Trotanoy, Pomerol (1.5L) (92RP, 92WS, 91JG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1966 Trotanoy has always been an impressive wine on the three or four occasions that I have tasted it. This bottle was special because it was brought to a private dinner in Bordeaux with a mutual friend, by the man who made it, Jean-Claude Berrouet. It still has semblances to Lafleur on the nose: a bit serious and aloof, reflecting both terroir and vintage, stern perhaps, yet very well defined with brine-tinged black fruit. The palate is structured and unapologetically masculine, possessing gritty tannin but with the fruit to back it up. Afforded an hour to notice development, I did find that it lost its composure a little and became slightly volatile, yet it remains a swarthy, uncompromising Pomerol. The best bottles will still have another ten years on the clock. Tasted April 2016. (NM)" (06/2016)

1966 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1966 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "My God, this is a wonderful mature Lafite. Served blind chez Rosemary George MW it has a definable Pauillac nose with subtle notes of cedar, sous-bois and a touch of dried blood. It has incredible harmony and purity – a bouquet that has you instantly captivated. The palate does not disappoint: a beguiling sense of natural harmony and delineation, not the weight of Latour nor the femininity of Margaux, but a Lafite aiming for understated sophistication. Delicate cedar and cigar box towards the finish that just goes on and on. This bottle vindicates my first encounter in Bordeaux, when it similarly bewitched its audience. Absolutely sublime. Tasted April 2008. (NM)" (07/2008)
