1975 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac

91 points Decanter: "Jean-Michel Cazes’ third vintage, and his records of the harvest note excellent weather conditions almost every day up in Pauillac. Harvest of Merlot began at Lynch Bages on September 25 (it had been expected to start on the 29th until the rains fell) and lasted until October 12th ( a Sunday when Cazes described the fermentations as going ‘very very well’). Only one or two vats needed chaptilisation because natural sugar levels were so high. On the nose, a touch of band aid suggests brett, but this soon clears and the wine is full of ...

1975 Palmer, Margaux

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1975 Palmer has consistently been one of the top wines of the vintage. The color remains a dark ruby with no signs of amber. The wine reveals plenty of sweet fruit in the fragrant bouquet. Although more tannic than most top vintages of Palmer, this is a full-bodied, rich, concentrated wine with the vintage's toughness and high tannin well-displayed. Yet I believe it possesses enough sweet fruit and extract to stand up to the tannin. Shockingly, the most developed bottle of 1975 Palmer I have tasted was from a ...

1975 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (High shoulder, Lightly Bin Soiled/ Nicked Labels, some oxidized capsules)

95 points James Suckling: "I absolutely love the nose of licorice, minerals, black currants, and berries. Full and slightly hard and acidic, but I could smell it all night. It softens and turns velvety and dusty on the finish with lots of fruit. Why wait on this? Served from imperial bottle." (03/2012) 95 points Wine & Spirits: "I absolutely love the nose of licorice, minerals, black currants, and berries. Full and slightly hard and acidic, but I could smell it all night. 1975 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (mid to low shoulder fills, some nicked capsules)

95 points James Suckling: "I absolutely love the nose of licorice, minerals, black currants, and berries. Full and slightly hard and acidic, but I could smell it all night. It softens and turns velvety and dusty on the finish with lots of fruit." (01/2011) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine has finally begun to reveal some potential. It has been closed and frightfully tannic for the last decade. The wine exhibits a good dark ruby/garnet color, a sweet nose of cedar, chocolate, cassis, and spices, good ripe fruit and extraction, and a w ...

1975 Joseph Phelps Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1975 Joseph Phelps Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine still gets my nod as the finest regular bottling of Cabernet Sauvignon the Joseph Phelps Winery has ever produced. Still impressively dark ruby/purple, with slight amber at the edge, the nose offers a concoction of chocolate, cedar, licorice, and black fruits. In the mouth, this full-bodied wine exhibits superb concentration, soft tannins, and plenty of length. (RP)" (04/1992)
