1994 Léoville-Las Cases, St-Julien

92-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Excellent deep, saturated color. Sexy aromas of black cherry, cassis, and toasty, smoky oak. Wonderful sweetness and texture, with terrific perfume. More pliable than the '95 Las Cases. Tannins are extremely well integrated for a cabernet-based '94. I don't find the austerity that Delon cites. " (05/1996) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Michel Delon, a great man, is the consummate proprietor, meticulously administering this vast estate spread out along the St.-Julien/Pauillac border, s ...

1994 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa (89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Cabernet Franc) reveals toasty sweet oak in the nose, bombastic levels of black currant fruit and spice along with a hint of mint in the background. (RP)" (12/1998) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Dark, plush and concentrated, with a decided coconut and oak accent mixed with complex plum and berry flavors. Finishes with a rich, focused, generous aftertaste, with fine length. Deftly balanced. (JL)" (11/2004)

1994 Taylor Vintage Port

100 points James Suckling: "This is, to date, the greatest Vintage Port ever from here. It overwhelmed me years ago when I tasted it from barrel, but only now is it crossing gradually into its drinking window. The intensity is still mind-boggling here, with sweet-and-sour notes as well as mounds of clay. There are violets lurking somewhere too. A full-bodied, medium sweet and sublime Vintage Port, showing forest fruits and freshly picked blackberries on the palate in the form of a creamy, focused and tannic texture." (10/2014) 100 points Wine Spectator ...

1994 Angélus, St-Emilion

92-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Black-ruby. Sweet, expressive aromas of bitter cherry, cocoa powder and caramel. Very sweet and very concentrated, but fresh and nicely defined. Intriguing gamey nuance. Substantial even tannins coat the mouth, but are buried under explosive finishing fruit. This wine shows considerably more personality, not to mention depth of fruit flavor, than the '95. A superb '94, and one not to miss. (ST)" (05/1996) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In the new classification of St.-Emilion, justice ...

1994 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars "Cask 23" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Wine Spectator: "*Cellar Selection* This red blend is intense and concentrated, with a rich and supple texture and loads of currant, anise, black cherry, plum and berry notes. On the finish, the flavors weave together in a complex tapestry, and though firmly tannic, it's perfectly balanced. (JL)" (03/1998)

1994 Kenwood "Artist Series" Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

93 points Wine Spectator: "Beautifully crafted, sleek and elegant, sharply focused on ripe, rich cherry, currant, plum and berry. Picks up pretty floral and spicy nuances and the tannins, while firm, are supple and integrated. (JL)" (11/1998) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "A strong performance from a vintage considered among the best; this comes on and stays intense through the close. However, the wine's scale caused some doubts to be registered about its balance—it's pretty hot, and high in alcohol. Still, few argued with the toast, dark berry and licori ...

1994 Fonseca Vintage Port

100 points Wine Spectator: "Hold on to your hat. This is the best Fonseca since 1977, and it's probably even better than that classic vintage--more like the breathtaking 1948. Mind-blowing, with masses of color, aroma and fruit flavor. Smells like fermenting berries, boasting loads of crushed grape, violet and berry character. Big, full-bodied and very sweet, with tons of tannins and a sweet finish. Tannic and huge, it's a long-term, great Port. *Ranked as the Top Wine of 1997, Cellar Selection* (JS)" (04/1997) 98 points Decanter: "Tight knit – not giv ...

1994 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This hedonistic Cabernet Sauvignon's saturated purple color is accompanied by an exuberant, sweet, enveloping fragrance of smoky new oak, and jammy blackberry and cassis fruit. In the mouth, this lavishly wooded, black fruit-filled Cabernet is extremely full-bodied, with superb levels of fruit, glycerin, and extract. Like many 1994 Cabernet Sauvignons, it possesses extraordinary equilibrium, with the sweet tannin giving the wine considerable accessibility. The finish lasts for nearly 30 seconds. This will be a fu ...

1994 Arrowood Sonoma County Merlot

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Merlot's saturated, inky black color is followed by a sweet, jammy nose of black fruits, licorice, vanilla, and smoke. Full-bodied, with a voluptuous palate, as well as a layered texture, this low acid, plump, fleshy Merlot should drink well for a decade after its release next year. Yummy! Everything Dick Arrowood and winemaker Michel Berthoud produce these days merits significant attention." (12/1996) Wine Spectator: "Shows mature candied, herb and currant flavors..." (10/2000)

1994 Turley "Hayne Vineyard" Napa Valley Petite Syrah

97-99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There is no doubt about it - as a fan of the underrated Petite Syrah, I have never tasted greater Petite Syrahs than the 1994 Aida or 1994 Hayne. Some of the extraordinary Petite Syrah produced by La Jota from the old Park-Muscatine Vineyard on Howell Mountain, and the now-discontinued Ridge Petite Syrahs from the Devil's Hill portion of York Creek Vineyard were previous benchmarks, but Turley Cellars' Petite Syrahs have set a new reference point for this varietal. The 1994 Petite Syrah Hayne Vineyard is the n ...

1994 Simi "Reserve" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Wine Spectator: " *Cellar Selection* A brilliant Cabernet from a great vintage, this is ripe, rich and complex, with a distinctive flavor profile of earthy currant, herb, coffee, black cherry and spice. Finishes with ripe, bold, rich tannins and a wonderful aftertaste that keeps pumping out the fruit. (JL)" (11/1998) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. Redcurrant, cassis, cocoa powder and iron on the nose, plus a subtle whiff of smoky oak. Sappy and thick in the mouth, with strong, bright flavors of red fruits and ...

1994 Spottswoode Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1994 Spottswoode Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 93CG, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "1994 produced 4,863 cases from a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc. This is one of the great vintages of the 90s, and Spottswoode hit the bull’s-eye with this opaque, ruby/purple-colored wine that still has incredible youthfulness and vibrancy. Fabulous fruit intensity, blackcurrants, black cherries and blackberry, along with charcoal, chocolate and graphite, are all present in this superb, full-bodied, stunningly multidimensional wine that is only now approaching mid-adolescence at age 22. This wine has at least 25-30 more years of life left in it. It is a great one. (RP)" (08/2016)

1994 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 95WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Robert Mondavi Cabernet Reserve vertical. This has a very different bouquet to the 1996: lighter and minty, more red fruit than black fruit profile, raspberry, bergamot, a touch of leather coming through. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, almost filigree tannins, harmonious, light and more Bordeaux like than other vintages with a little dryness coming through on the ferrous, honey-textured finish. This exudes style and panache. One of the greats of the decade, no doubt. Tasted June 2009. (NM)" (11/2009)
