1994 Miltonduff 24 Year Old "Old Particular" K&L Exclusive Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky (750ml)

The strikingly underappreciated Miltonduff distillery is unique in so many ways. Built on the site of an old mill for the Pluscarden Abbey, the distillery's old stone buildings hide one of Speyside's most delicious malts. Originally a Priory founded by King Alexander II in 1230, the area became renowned for illicit distillation. Originally licensed in 1824, the name "Milton" was taken from a still that operated on the property. The Duff family owned the lands surrounding the abbey, hence the name Miltonduff. The malt became an important component of the ...

1994 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa (89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Cabernet Franc) reveals toasty sweet oak in the nose, bombastic levels of black currant fruit and spice along with a hint of mint in the background. (RP)" (12/1998) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Dark, plush and concentrated, with a decided coconut and oak accent mixed with complex plum and berry flavors. Finishes with a rich, focused, generous aftertaste, with fine length. Deftly balanced. (JL)" (11/2004)

1994 Bodegas Reyes "Teofilo Reyes" Ribera del Duero

95 points Wine Spectator: "**Cellar Selection and #8 of Top 100 Wines of 1997** Gorgeous. Seriously aromatic, this Spanish red explodes with toast, smoke, coconut and vanilla aromas and flavors, with plenty of ripe fruit notes beneath. The tannins are big but beautifully framed, the wine is concentrated but completely harmonious and should improve for a decade. 9,000 cases made" (06/1997) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The winemaker behind the debut vintage of this wine is 72-year old Teofilo Reyes. For two decades (before his retirement in ...

1994 Clos du Marquis, St-Julien

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I am not a great believer in the quality of most second wines, as they tend to be a dumping ground for everything deemed not desirable for the grand vin. However, such second wines as Forts de Latour, Bahans-Haut-Brion, Pavillon Rouge de Chateau Margaux, and Clos du Marquis are serious wines that possess the character of their more complex and concentrated siblings, yet are more supple and accessible. Clos du Marquis is not to be missed in the 1993-95 vintages. This deep ruby/purple-colored wine reveals the sweet, pure cas ...

1994 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L)

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The superb 1994 Les Pavots is, to my palate, the finest example of this wine Peter Michael has yet made. Since its bottling, this deep, saturated purple-colored wine has taken on a gorgeous nose of cassis intermixed with violets, licorice, and attractive spicy oak. Sweet, rich, and surprisingly showy for a Les Pavots, this medium to full-bodied wine possesses a luscious, multi-layered texture, outstanding depth, and attractively integrated tannin and acidity. When I tasted it, it was more evolved and delicious th ...

1994 Kenwood "Artist Series" Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

93 points Wine Spectator: "Beautifully crafted, sleek and elegant, sharply focused on ripe, rich cherry, currant, plum and berry. Picks up pretty floral and spicy nuances and the tannins, while firm, are supple and integrated. (JL)" (11/1998) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "A strong performance from a vintage considered among the best; this comes on and stays intense through the close. However, the wine's scale caused some doubts to be registered about its balance—it's pretty hot, and high in alcohol. Still, few argued with the toast, dark berry and licori ...

1994 Taylor Vintage Port

100 points James Suckling: "This is, to date, the greatest Vintage Port ever from here. It overwhelmed me years ago when I tasted it from barrel, but only now is it crossing gradually into its drinking window. The intensity is still mind-boggling here, with sweet-and-sour notes as well as mounds of clay. There are violets lurking somewhere too. A full-bodied, medium sweet and sublime Vintage Port, showing forest fruits and freshly picked blackberries on the palate in the form of a creamy, focused and tannic texture." 1994 Fonseca Vintage Port

100 points Wine Spectator: "Hold on to your hat. This is the best Fonseca since 1977, and it's probably even better than that classic vintage--more like the breathtaking 1948. Mind-blowing, with masses of color, aroma and fruit flavor. Smells like fermenting berries, boasting loads of crushed grape, violet and berry character. Big, full-bodied and very sweet, with tons of tannins and a sweet finish. Tannic and huge, it's a long-term, great Port. *Ranked as the Top Wine of 1997, Cellar Selection* (JS)" (04/1997) 98 points Decanter: "Tight knit – not giv ...

1994 Matanzas Creek Sonoma Valley Merlot

92-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "So what's new? Matanzas Creek continues to turn out rich, concentrated Merlots that provide a reference point for what heights this grape can achieve in California. The 1994 possesses a saturated ruby/purple color, a flashy display of aromatics (chocolate, jammy red and black fruits, and vanilla), full body, loads of dense, thick, unctuously-textured flavors, low acidity, and a long, spicy, powerful finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. " (03/1998) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As I reported last year, Beringer's new proprietary red wine, Alluvium, appears to be an excellent product. Made from 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, production averages about 10,000-14,000 cases per year. The 1994 Alluvium is a textbook propri ...

1994 Clos du Val Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Wine Spectator: "A supple and restrained style, with spicy currant and berry flavors of modest proportion, finishing with firm, supple, leathery tannins. Those who prefer understated flavors will find this quite appealing. (JL)" (03/1998) K&L Notes: An exceptional vintage for California wine. This, like many of Clos du Val's Cabs, was held back a little bit upon release, showing more subtlety than flash at first and demanding patience to fully reveal its personality — as with a firmly structured Bordeaux. K&L is thrilled to offer it now, direct from th ...

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Michel Delon, a great man, is the consummate proprietor, meticulously administering this vast estate spread out along the St.-Julien/Pauillac border, separated from Latour's finest vineyard by a mere ten feet. The 1993-95 vintages from Delon are brilliant wines. Leoville-Las-Cases remains one of the irrefutable reference points for high class Bordeaux. One of the more massive Medocs of the vintage, this opaque purple-colored wine exhibits fabulous richness and volume in the mouth. Layers of pure black-cherry and ...

1994 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As is the practice at this winery, they hold back 50 or so cases of their finest vintages for release after a decade. The current release of their library selection is the 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon, a magnificent effort that, for me, is one of Togni’s six or seven finest wines. Its deep plum/purple color reveals only a touch of lightening at the edge. A glorious perfume offers up aromas of plums, figs, creme de cassis, smoke, hickory spice, and high quality cigar tobacco. In a blind tasting, this California Caberne ...

1994 Graham's Vintage Port

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Vintage Port is going to be re-released. It has about 100 grams per liter of residual sugar. With a big eucalyptus note up front, this is elegant in the mid-palate with controlled tannins. Sweet and easy in some ways, this is readily approachable now, perhaps not at peak, but more expressive than the relatively brooding Dow's, also reviewed. The hint of caramel and raisins mixed with sugar makes this irresistible. It is sexy and intriguing. (MS)" (10/2016) 95 points Vinous: "The 1994 Graham’s Vintage P ...

Full-bodied, with a voluptuous palate, as well as a layered texture, this low acid, plump, fleshy Merlot should drink well for a decade after its release next year. Yummy! 1994 Turley "Hayne Vineyard" Napa Valley Zinfandel
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Turley "Hayne Vineyard" Napa Valley Zinfandel (96RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A truly colossal Zinfandel is Turley Cellars' 1994 Zinfandel Hayne Vineyard. Frankly, Zinfandel does not get much richer than this. Its only rivals are the two enormously rich, unctuously-textured wines from the Martinelli Family's Jackass Vineyard and Jackass Hill Vineyard. The 1994 Hayne possesses a dense purple color, and a huge nose of fabulously pure black fruits, pepper, and spices. The texture is akin to syrup, with a thickness and richness that must be tasted to be believed. With all this power and flavor authority, it is easy to think this wine is too heavy. But it is dry, well-focused, and thrilling to drink. The alcohol is an unbelievable 17.2%, yet there is no hotness in the finish - which tells readers about the extraordinary concentration of fruit this wine possesses. Likely to be controversial because of its size and extremely concentrated style, the 199

1994 E. Guigal "La Mouline" Côte Rôtie
Bid on this bottle of 1994 E. Guigal "La Mouline" Côte Rôtie (95RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "(tasting note from 10/1997) The great glories of this house are its Cote Roties, of which there are now five separate offerings. The single-vineyard 1994s were singing loudly when I saw them in July. All of them scored significantly higher than they did during the two previous years, which is not unusual as Guigal's upbringing (elevage) of the wines results in better examples in the bottle than in cask. All three wines flirt with a perfect score. At this tasting, they reminded me of Guigal's 1982s - opulent, sumptuously-textured, forward, rich, precocious, flattering wines that will drink well throughout their lives. The 1994 Cote Rotie La Mouline possesses extraordinary intensity. A dark ruby/purple color is followed by a penetrating nose of sweet black raspberry fruit intertwined with aromas of coconut and apricots. Jammy black fruits continue on the palate of this full-bodied,

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Zind Humbrecht Clos Saint Urbain Rangen de Thann Pinot Gris Grand Cru Vendange Tardive (99RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Tokay-Pinot Gris Rangen Clos St.-Urbain V.T. was made from microscopic yields of one-half ton of fruit per acre, and attained 16% alcohol naturally. The wine is absolutely amazing. With its honeyed, exotic fruit, buttery, spicy, waxy nose, thick, unctuously rich, massive flavors, vibrant acidity, and smashingly long finish, this Z-H wine could be classified as a food product rather than as a beverage. Like several of these wines, 5-6 years of cellaring is essential, but the Clos St.-Urbain V.T. will last for 25-30 years. This 1994 Tokay-Pinot Gris is virtually perfect. (RP)" (06/1996)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Zind-Humbrecht Hengst Gewürztraminer Vendange Tardive (99RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Gewurztraminer Hengst V.T. represents the essence of Gewurztraminer. It tastes dry despite nearly 5% residual sugar. The natural alcohol comes in at an amazing 17+%. Made from 30 and 65-year old vines, this massive, remarkably intense, tannic, structured wine, is a smoky, mind-bogglingly, rich wine that has to be tasted to be believed. Still extremely young and unevolved, it will not begin to hit its plateau of maturity until the turn of the century, where it will remain for 20-25 years. It is a candidate for perfection! 1994 Colgin "Herb Lamb Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1994 Colgin "Herb Lamb Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The potentially perfect 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon is a totally dry wine, but the sweetness and taste of this wine's fruit is akin to a savory blend of a chocolate-covered, blueberry/cassis-filled candy bar and vanilla ice cream melting in the mouth. This full-bodied wine is silky, seductive, opulent, voluptuously-textured, and extraordinarily fragrant, expansive, and rich. In spite of this, the wine remains graceful and well-balanced, without any sense of heaviness, or obtrusive tannin or acidity. I clearly underrated the 1994 from my earliest barrel tastings, but the last two times I have had it, from barrel immediately prior to bottling and in bottle, have persuaded me that this wine is one of the most exciting and remarkable young Cabernet Sauvignons I have tasted! It should drink well for another 25-30 years. Damn, I adore this wine! (RP)" (12/1996)

Bid on this 3-500 ml-bottle lot of 1994 Château Tirecul La Gravière "Cuvée Madame" Monbazillac (500ml) ((99-100RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Cuvee Madame may be one of the two or three greatest sweet wines I have ever tasted. Only 20 cases of this wine, harvested grape by grape from five to six passes in the vineyard per day, were made from yields of 5 hectoliters per hectare (approximately one-fifth ton of fruit per acre). It tastes like the essence of orange marmalade infused with honey, and some flowery, fruit cocktail concoction. The wine boasts extraordinary purity, and exceptional sweetness, all buttressed by refreshing acidity. Aged in 100% new oak, the wine reveals no evidence of wood, no doubt because of its phenomenal extract. These wines will be nearly impossible to find, but I hope those few lucky enough to latch onto a few 500 ml bottles will lay some away and taste them against the greatest vintages of Chateau d'Yquem or Climens. An astonishing discovery!
