2002 Hanzell Sonoma Valley Chardonnay

92 points Wine & Spirits: "James Zellerbach founded this winery, planting Chardonnay on the hills above Sonoma in 1953. Those vines now give an elegant wine, its fruit textured by oak aging rather than flavored by it. There's a waxiness and creaminess to the wine, the fruit at first simple, then developing flavors of fresh apple and peach. It tastes generous and clean, best decanted if opened now and served with blanquette de veau. Or cellar it through 2010." (12/2005) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: " ** Cellar Selection ** I have tasted a number of bott ...

2002 Joseph Drouhin Montrachet Grand Cru "Marquis de Laguiche"

97 points Wine Spectator: "Intense. Concentrated, almost oily in texture and evoking stone notes and a strong sense of place, this wine just keeps unfolding its complex flavors across the palate. With terrific harmony and balance, along with a vibrant structure and finesse, this is about as good as Chardonnay gets. Endless finish. Best from 2007 through 2025. (BS)" (12/2004) 94 points Vinous: "The 2002 Drouhin Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche was almost as impressive, although stylistically it was quite a bit more honeyed, voluptuous and creamy. 2002 Sine Qua Non "Mr. K The Straw Man" Edna Valley Semillon (375ml)

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The virtually perfect 2002 Mr. K. The Straw Man boasts astounding statistics. Aged 30 months in barrel, with only 7.2% alcohol, it carries 482 grams per liter of residual sugar (half the wine), and 7.8 grams per liter of acidity. It is simply off the charts. Sexy, eye-popping, palate-staining stuff, it is like liquefied honey with extraordinary complexity, aromatics yet freshness and delineation. I simply do not understand how this wine was made given the technical numbers and its amazing sugar. It is neither hea ...

2002 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "Vaillons"
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "Vaillons" (92BH, 91RP, 91ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Aromatically bigger and fuller with an intense spiciness to the ripe melon infused nose that does not possess the elegance or detail of the Séchet, leading to robust, powerful, sappy, mouth coating flavors of impressive depth and weight. This also explodes on the finish and there is real volume here for a 1er and just as the wine is on the verge of seeming a touch heavy, the acidity arrives with a real rush on the incredibly long finish to keep all the elements in perfect balance. This too is very serious juice fashioned in classic Chablis style. *Outstanding* " (10/2004)

2002 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos"
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" (96RP, 94BH, 94ST, 93JG, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Chablis Grand Cru les Clos was served blind by Vincent Dauvissat after I had tasted through his 2015s. All I can say is thank you. I was slightly out regarding the vintage, suggesting it might be a 2001. It has a deceptively rich and honeyed bouquet, with hints of pralines and even marzipan. There is beautiful delineation here, so wonderfully focused and lavish. The palate follows suits with a viscous honeyed entry, deeply layered with grilled almond and dried honey notes that are offset by a killer line of acidity. This is utterly sublime and my only regret is that I could not stay and watch it blossom in bottle. Well, I hope Vincent enjoyed it for his supper. (NM)" (08/2016)
