2011 Domaine Perrot-Minot Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru "La Rue de Vergy"

91 points Vinous: "Perrot Minot's 2011 Morey-Saint-Denis La Rue de Vergy is bright, focused and nicely delineated. Crushed rocks, plums, mint, licorice and orange peel burst from the glass in an energetic, vibrant Morey with tons of near-term appeal but also plenty of ability to develop nicely in bottle. The 2011 is crystalline and energetic from start to finish. (AG)" (03/2014) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Perfumed and expressive, exhibiting violet, wild berry and spice aromas and flavors, matched to an elegant yet dense frame. Balanced and long, but ne ...

2011 Domaine Perrot Minot Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes

93-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Strong reduction. This brooding and powerful effort is much more backward and primary than the Charmes with its overtly muscular and stony broad-shouldered flavors that possess plenty of mid-palate stuffing. The supporting tannins are very firm though not hard or aggressive and this adds to the present austerity on the otherwise ripe, long, well-balanced and palate staining finish. Impressive." (01/2013) 92-95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(from 88-year-old vines, according to Perrot-Minot) ...

2011 Domaine Joseph Roty Marsannay "Les Ouzeloy"

90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Aromas of purple fruits, mint, violet and mocha; showing less torrefaction than the young 2012. Juicy, sharply delineated black fruit and violet flavors benefit from an excellent sugar/acid balance. Crunchy wine with lovely cut and penetration and a brisk, long finish. I'd give it two or three years in the cellar. This should make a terrific bottle of Marsannay." (03/2014)

2011 Domaine du Clos de Tart Morey St. Denis 1er Cru La Forge de Tart

Allen Meadows writes of the 2011 vintage at Comaine du Clos de Tart: "Sylvain Pitiot, régisseur (resident manager) of Clos de Tart, told me that 2011 is a 'very pretty and while not a great vintage, it's certainly very good. We picked extremely late by the standards of a relatively precocious vintage, which is to say on the 25th of September. The crop was exceptionally clean and there was really almost no sorting required to speak of beyond a few bits of debris, insects and the like. The potential alcohol was very good at around 13.5% and at that level t ...

2011 Domaine Leroy Volnay 1er Cru "Santenots du Milieu" (Pre-Arrival)

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the nose offers a step up in aromatic depth with its very spicy nose of both red and blue pinot fruit that is trimmed in plenty of warm earth and floral character. There is an almost pungent minerality to the broad-shouldered and palate staining medium weight flavors that are utterly delicious before culminating in an explosively long but focused, balanced, chalky and mouth coating finish. A knockout." (04/2013) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Volnay 1er Cru Santenots-les-Milieu comes from a ...

2011 Domaine Drouhin-Laroze Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Don't Miss! An extraordinarily spicy and complex nose evidences cool, fresh and admirably pure aromas of cassis, red berries and plum. There is a floral note on the remarkably rich, concentrated and extract-rich flavors that really coat the palate on the dusty, long and impressively deep finish. A classic Bèze and well worth considering" (04/2013)

2011 Domaine Leroy Pommard "Les Vignots" (Pre-Arrival)

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Pommard Les Vignots was bottled December 2012. It has a complex, slightly earthy bouquet with subtle marine influences, defined and focused with hints of black olive emerging with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine focus, imbued with an Oriental edge (hoisin) which is folded into a fine silky finish. (NM)" (08/2013)

2011 Domaine Pierre Matrot Meursault 1er Cru "Charmes"

2011 Domaine de Montille Volnay 1er Cru "Champans"

90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Outstanding* There is a background floral element to the perfumed, cool and ultra-pure essence of red pinot fruit, earth and wet stone. There is good verve and refinement to the mineral-inflected medium weight flavors that seduce on the mid-palate though tighten up quickly on the firm, mildly austere and complex finish that delivers excellent persistence. This is both stylish and classy though note that it will need a decade of cellar time." (04/2013) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(vin ...

2011 Domaine Faiveley Corton-Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As is usually the case with this wine when it’s young, the nose is restrained to the point of being almost mute though aggressive swirling liberates aromas of earth, spice, red currant and hints of the sauvage. And instead of the robust and well-muscled mid-palate there is an almost caressing mouth feel to the full-bodied yet refined flavors because while the supporting tannins are definitely firm and dense they are also quite finely-grained. There is excellent length to the moderately austere, tight, focused and ...

2011 Domaine Joseph Voillot Pommard 1er Cru "Rugiens"

91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Sweet Spot Outstanding Value* Here too the wood isn't subtle but also stops short of dominating the pure and attractively layered red currant, black tea and wet stone aromas. There is really lovely detail to the intense, muscular and stony medium weight flavors that possess good muscle and punch on the beautifully persistent and well-balanced finish. This is not as complex as the Epenots but the underlying material is certainly present to allow it to further develop. " (04/2013)

2011 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits.-Saint Georges 1er Cru "Clos des Porrets" (Pre-Arrival)

93 points John Gilman: "The 2011 Clos des Porrets is destined to be a legendary vintage of this great premier cru that lies alongside les Cailles on the slope. The bouquet is very deep and simply stunning, offering up a very refined blend of black cherries, a touch of pomegranate, dark soil tones, fresh herbs, dark chocolate, violets and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and rock solid at the core, with great delineation, ripe, firm tannins and excellent grip and soil signature on the very long and classy finish. The 2010 ...

2011 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival)

94 points Vinous: "Good dark red. Expressive, high-toned nose shows a leesy complexity to the aromas of cherry, flowers, soil and what Patrick Landanger called "blood peach." The palate offers uncanny energy and perfume, with sweet fruit lifted by spices and flowers. Lovely juiciness and class here. A wonderful Corton grand cru. Landanger did a much better job timing the harvest here than he did in 2012. (ST)" (03/2014) 93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A slightly riper set of red and black pinot fruit aromas enjoys added latitude by the presence o ...

2011 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Taillepieds" 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival)

92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Sweet spot Outstanding* (from a 1.07 ha parcel of 35+ year old vines) Aromatically speaking this is almost a hypothetical blend of the Frémiets and Caillerets with its perfumed and moderately high-toned red currant nose that unveils notes of spice, stone and violets. The strikingly pure, delineated and energetic middle weight flavors display outstanding precision on the almost pungently mineral-driven, balanced and hugely long finish. This is a classic Taillepieds and while there is some of the hallmark austerity ...

96 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is powerful and rich, allowing just a note of freshness to creep into the firm structure. Dark tannins, black fruits and smoky wood flavors combine harmoniously, lending a sense of great power and long-term aging potential. (RV)" (09/2014) 92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Discreet if not invisible wood surrounds the complex but restrained red currant, spice, smoke, earth and sauvage permeated aromas. There is excellent power and plenty of punch to the broad-shouldered and solidly well-concentrated flavors that p ...

2011 Maison Leroy Meursault 1er Cru "Perrières"
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Maison Leroy Meursault 1er Cru "Perrières". No name enlivens and ignites a discussion of Burgundy as quickly as Madame Lalou Bize-Leroy. She is unrelenting in every way, from her personality to how she runs her business to the quality of the wine in the bottle. The Leroy family’s 50% ownership of Domaine Romanée- Conti gave Lalou ample ability to amass the deepest and most revered cellar in Burgundy during the past six decades. Speculation is rampant about its size and holdings; only one person knows for sure. Today, Lalou is the force behind three domaines: Maison Leroy, Domaine Leroy and Domaine d’Auvenay. The story of the Leroy family’s dominance in the wine world began more than a century ago, in 1868, when François Leroy founded Maison Leroy in Auxey-Duresses, a small village near Meursault. When Lalou’s father, Henri, joined the family business in 1919, the firm was already established as one of the greatest in Burgundy. Lalou joined her father in 1955,

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (96JS, (94-96RP), (93-96ST), 96VN, 95BH). Vinous: "An utterly mesmerizing wine, the 2011 Corton-Charlemagne conquers all of the senses with its grace and harmony. Lemon oil, white flowers, pears and crushed rocks are some of the many notes that are woven together in the glass. The 2011 is perfumed, sublime and drop-dead gorgeous from the very first taste. With time, though, the wine blossoms beautifully as it fills out its broad-shouldered frame with tons of style. (AG)" (09/2013)
