2011 Eyrie "Estate Grown" Dundee Hills Pinot Noir

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bottled only ten days before I tasted it in July - late even by their standards because, says Jason Lett, 'it was very tannic and tough early on' and he left in in tank from November 2012 - Eyrie’s 'regular' estate 2011 Pinot Noir is light enough in color that some Pinotphiles may be put off. Its recent bottling didn’t cause it to be inexpressive - far from it. But what it does express is extreme and unusual, so much so that I can’t recommend buying it without first trying it. A fascination amalgam of sauteed wild mushroom ...

2011 Domaine Drouhin Dundee Hills Pinot Noir

91 points Wine & Spirits: "This spicy pinot has a dark soil-like note to accent its finely wrought strawberry fruit. The tension between fruit and savor, and the pleasing tartness of the vintage makes this a good choice for duck confit." (10/2013) Jancis Robinson: "Subtle, drifting aromas with some bitter cranberry bite on the finish. Very sophisticated – reigned in. Seriously structured tannins on the finish too. (RH)" (07/2013) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid red. Cherry, bitter chocolate and subtle floral and smoky nuances on th ...

2011 Bergström "Gregory Ranch" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the site (described in Issue 202) that for me was 2010’s star, Bergstrom’s 2011 Pinot Noir Gregory Ranch Vineyard lives up to both the memorable quality of that predecessor and to my memories of its performance from barrel in June, 2012. (Surely it was with hindsight a mistake for its author to have set its price so much lower than that of other Pinots in his portfolio; but it was until recently untested terroir.) Tamarind; black pepper; pungently smoky Latakia tobacco and Lapsang tea; sassafras and penetrat ...

2011 Anne Amie "Twelve Oaks Estate" Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir

90 points Vinous: "Vivid red. High-pitched red berry and rose pastille aromas are given depth by notes of anise and cola. Spicy and light on its feet, offering gently sweet raspberry and cherry flavors and a touch of bitter herbs. Closes with sneaky sweetness, a touch of allspice and gently firming tannins. Shows the elegance and precision that was possible in this challenging vintage. (JR)" (07/2014) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Light and refined, with a gentle buzz of tannins around a supple core of cinnamon-accented red berry and orange tea flavors, l ...
