2017 Château de la Negly "La Falaise" La Clape Rouge

95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The brilliant 2017 Coteaux Du Languedoc La Clape Falaise checks in as 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache, and 20% Mourvèdre that was all destemmed and aged 16 months in a mix of foudre and demi-muids. It’s a ripe, sexy, full-bodied beauty that’s loaded with notions of blueberries, raspberries, violets, ground pepper, and graphite-like aromas and flavors. Lovers of powerful, character-filled, balanced wines will love this. Drink it any time over the coming 7-8 years." (08/2019) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A solid introduction ...

2017 Domaine Dugois Ploussard "La Sombarde" Arbois Rouge

Ploussard/Poulsard is a red-skinned French grape variety that is a specialty of Arbois in northern Jura. Thin skins and pale coloring are the most obvious traits of Poulsard, while the delicate perfumes are what will be surprising. This is a wine of great finesse! Winery note: "The color is ruby ??with sometimes orange highlights. A light, fruity and light wine, with aromas of strawberry and raspberry, smoked, sweet spice. Balanced and fruity mouth with a beautiful aromatic expression."

2017 Jean-Louis Denois "Saint Louis" Syrah Vin de Pays d'Oc Vieilles Vignes

Jean-Louis Denois is considered by many as a maverick of the Languedoc. This passionate vigneron produces an impressive portfolio of wines from Limoux, considered one of the coolest regions in the Languedoc. The Denois philosophy is simple. To showcase Limoux as an island of freshness in the south of France. Finding the perfect balance between ripeness and acidity here is key, and Denois manages to maintain this across the board.

2017 David & Nadia Pinotage Siebritskloof Swartland

From the winery: "With a lack of sufficient rainfall in the winters of 2015 and 2016 leading up to the vintages of 2016 and 2017, we saw the effect of droughts, combined with heat waves during vintage. For this good reason, Pinotage is called the “farmer’s grape” because of its earlier ripening character which allows us to harvest before heat waves, ensuring some freshness in our wines. We harvested the Pinotage vineyards right in the middle of January of 2017, before any of our whites, and matured them on the skins for three weeks in total. By the time ...

2017 Clos Fornelli "La Robe d'Ange" Corse Rouge (Corsica)

Importer's notes: "To simply say it’s elegant and delicious is stopping far too short. This full-tilt seductress is robed in transparent barberry red with a sleek frame and only the right amount of suppleness to polish its angles and bring a beautiful esthetic to its curvature. In some ways, it’s just too good and too charming and you won’t want to finish the bottle unless you have another one in the queue--be careful with this one; if your significant is with you in the room, don’t forget they’re there."

2017 Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port 6-pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

98-100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Vintage Port, not quite bottled when seen but the final blend, is a field blend aged for approximately 20 months in wood. It comes in with 100 grams of residual sugar. A step up (or two) on the 2016, this shows fine depth, more focus, vivid fruit and serious power. It's not particularly thick, austere or astringent, but this is built for the long haul. It is potentially a great Taylor's, effortlessly combining brilliant fruit and structure. It tastes great now (today, it is far more vivid than its Vi ...

2017 Fonseca Vintage Port 6-pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

96-98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Vintage Port, not quite bottled when seen but the final blend, is a field blend (with typical grapes like Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca) aged for approximately 20 months in used French oak. It comes in with 98 grams of residual sugar, a little drier on paper than its Taylor sibling this year. Sappy and sensational in flavor and fruit, this seemingly has moderate tannins around the edges on first taste, velvety texture and a long finish. Despite the first ...

2017 Graham's Vintage Port (Pre-Arrival)

98 points Decanter: "Based on Touriga Franca from south-facing slopes at Quinta dos Malvedos, with Touriga Nacional from quintas Vila Velha and Vale de Mealhadas (both predominantly north-facing), topped out with fruit from old vines at Quinta da Tua and 10% Sousão. It's a very deep blue-black colour with an expressive, super-ripe nose of plum, mint and bergamot which springs from the glass. The palate is rich, velvety and voluptuous in typical Graham’s style. The initial richness makes the tannins, which show up on the ripe, broad, mouthwatering finish. ...

2017 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port 6-pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

97 points James Suckling: "Big grip in this wine with dark blackberries, blueberries and floral notes. Fine tannins. Ripe but sweet and pretty. Shows a lovely finish. Try after 2027. (JS)" (05/2019) 97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Vintage Port is a field blend, mostly Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão and Sousão, aged for 18 months in old wood vats. It comes in with 99 grams of residual sugar. This was bottled in May 2019, about a month before tasting, but I made sure at least some of it had a lot of air. Aromatic, wonderfu ...
