2015 Eve's Cidery "Autumn's Gold" Cider, New York (750ml) (Previously $20)

Eve’s most ‘old-world’ cider, produced from bittersweet and bittersharp European cider varieties first grafted onto their trees in 2002. These varieties require late harvesting and slow, natural fermentation to bring out their full complexity. Macerating fruit prior to pressing also increases aromatics and helps with integrating tannin. Bittersweet cider also benefits from oxygen exchange from old oak barrels. (Producer Notes)

"When we started experimenting with Belgian-style sour ales back in 2006, we immediately knew we wanted to add cherries to our program. We get over 4,500 lbs of red, tart Montmorency cherries each year from King Orchards in northern Michigan. We add the cherries to the mildly tart sour ale base and let it ferment for three more months before kegging and bottling, giving this barrel-aged fruited sour ale the distinct cherry characteristics. Brouwers Verzet "Oud Bruin" Sour Brown Ale, Sweden (330ml) (Previously $10)

This "old brown" is a brewer flagship, and a typical beer style for the region in which it is produced. A blend of 'old' brown beer, already maturated for 6 months in oak barrels, and some 'young' brown beer. Each vessel is sampled separately and blended to taste, so as to obtain the perfect combination. Each year, the taste slightly different though the main characteristics remain always the same: the aroma is dominated by green apple, red fruits and oak.
