1974 Burgess "Vintage Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1974 Burgess "Vintage Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This is Burgess' best cabernet, and in spectacular cabernet vintages such as 1974, it really shines. Mature and subdued at 45 years of age, it would be a very special treat for a friend's 45th birthday.

1974 Chalone "Estate" Chalone Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 1974 Chalone "Estate" Chalone Pinot Noir. Chalone Estate is a California icon and original, such that the estate itself was designated an individual AVA in 1982. For over 50 years, they have been producing traditionally styled Pinot Noir and Chardonnays that routinely defy expectations in their longevity, with bottles from the estate's founding decade often showing stunning aromatics and structure. These are easily some of the most long-lived Pinot Noirs from the New World.

1974 Ridge Vineyards "York Creek" Napa County Petite Sirah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1974 Ridge Vineyards "York Creek" Napa County Petite Sirah. Ridge originally came to York Creek in 1971 in search of its old-vine petite sirah and has stayed in this Spring Mountain source ever since. York Creek's cooling waters and the higher elevations prevent over-ripening during the warm Califonian summers and the Napa Valley location provides everything else needed for an excellent wine. Ridge's guiding light, Paul Draper was classmates with the vineyard's owner, Fritz Maytag, at Stanford University (or "Stanford Junior College" if you attended Berkeley) They remained friends ever since and have worked hand-in-hand over the years to produce ever improving Ridge Petite Sirahs. This is a great opportunity to acquire an increasingly rare historical Californian wine from the early days at Ridge Vineyards.
