This small, all estate grown Champagne is sourced from only one vineyard, the Clos Boursault, an ancient walled vineyard just west of Epernay on the Marne. It is composed of 45% Pinot Noir, 45% Meunier, and 10% Chardonnay, and given four years of ageing on the lees. It benefits from an incredible 50% reserves. This is a very brut at just 6g/l of dosage but is not at all austere. I love this wine for its easy style, great toasted baguette aromas and nut bread and savory Pinot flavors. The finish is long, and the wine is amazing in its completeness. This i...

2009 Alexandre Le Brun "Cuvée Dilection" Brut Rosé Champagne (Previously $80) (Previously $80)
Top Pick!
Alexandre Le Brun is a young winemaker from Monthelon in the Ardenne (Marne) region of Champagne. He is a ninth-generation winemaker. His family established themselves in Champagne in 1750, and their cellars were built in 1822. The delectable Dilection is based on the incredible 2009 vintage with 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier. Only French oak is used and the vineyard where the grapes are sourced was planted in 1902. It is rich, but classically dry with dark cherry and strawberry fruit on the finish, which lingers.

93 points James Suckling: "Plenty of vinous red-cherry, berry and plum aromas, smelling really fresh. The palate has supple, crisp and open-knit, fleshy-fruit appeal with a succulent, fleshy cherry finish. Drink now." (09/2018) 92 points Wine Spectator: "A toasty version, this is lightly chewy in texture, with mouthwatering acidity framing flavors of steeped black cherry, singed orange peel, wild herb and dried fig. Rich and distinctive. Try this with duck à l'orange. Drink now through 2022. (AN, Web-2017)" 90 points Vinous: "(all Pinot Noir; 10 g/l d...

Damien Hugot is a 25th generation grower, with 20 acres of estate vineyards, mostly in the Grand Crus of Cramant and Chouilly. The Grand Cru blanc de blancs is composed entirely of Chouilly and Cramant, and mostly from old massal selected vines. This wine, which is 100% Chardonnay, has incredible richness and great toastiness for a blanc de blancs. We are very proud to import these wines directly, and offer them at such good prices. If you are looking for a bottle of Champagne that has both toast and the classy chalk of the best vineyards for Chardonnay,...

This 100% Meunier from Croutes-sur-Marne is done in the fresh, clean style of Blanc de Noirs. It is an ideal aperitif! The warm bread and tarte-tatin aromas and flavors give this some power for people who like a toastier style, but without going over the edge into heaviness. Again, the bead and texture are spot on, I expect partially due to the cold, dead consistent temperature in their hillside cave. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne Buyer)

Wine Enthusiast: "Honeysuckle, honeydew melon and white-peach aromas follow through to the somewhat sweet palate along with a note of glazed orange zest. Fresh acidity lifts the rich candied flavors. (KO)" (12/2017) K&L Notes: The Bronca sisters grow their own fruit on steep hillside vineyards, then make base wine and perform the secondary (sparkling) fermentation on non-vintage batches three or four times a year to ensure freshness. Low yields and hillside-grown fruit ensure that the wine has good concentration and acidity. This one's a clean, crisp a...

Trudon "Rosephile" Brut Rosé Champagne
Top Pick!
Jerome Trudon's "Rosephile" Brut Rosé Champagne shows the charming, elegant side of his craft in the best possible light. It is entirely Meunier, with 7% vinified red from a massal-selected plot over 60 years of age. I wrote 'Luxardo cherry' in all caps in my notebook and this wine has fantastic purity of fruit, but a finish that is dry and balanced. He decided to do only 30% malolactic fermentation on this batch to preserve its snap and refreshment. Be careful, this is very easy to drink and the second glass tastes better than the first! (Gary Westby, K...

The Antech "Emotion" is a little something different: a blend of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Mauzac and Pinot Noir from the AOC Crémant de Limoux in the Languedoc region of southern France. Since the 2012 vintage it has been a huge hit with our staff; now it is back, to make our evenings and dinner parties sparkle just that much more. Pale pink hue, fine bead, delicate hints of cherry and strawberry with white floral notes. A crisp, elegant sparkler made in the traditional method, spending 15 months in the bottle before disgorgement. At way less than the p...

This Champagne is made entirely from selected grand cru estate fruit from the village of Mesnil. It is fermented and aged in 600-liter new-oak casks before being bottled and aged four years on the lees. It has a super rich nose of vanilla, sourdough toast, and Mesnil minerals. In the mouth it's very racy and dry, not nearly as broad as the rich nose suggests. I think this is one of the ultimate lobster Champagnes in our stock, and will repay five years of cellaring with a gorgeous drink. If you love Selosse's Origine and Tarlant's Cuvée Louis, this is on...

Bernard Lonclas Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne
New!
Top Pick!
Jancis Robinson: "Grower Champagne house founded in 1976 by Bernard Lonclas, located in the village of Bassuet. Chardonnay. Bone dry. RS 10 g/l. A little dry on the end. Not for neophytes but very lively. (JR)" (09/2012)

This blend of 55% Chardonnay, 25% Meunier and 20% Pinot Noir is entirely sourced from the Baron Fuenté estate in the western valley of the Marne. Because of the over six years on the lees, this zero dosage Champagne comes accross as dry, but not at all austere. In fact, this wine is loaded with cream and brioche, focussing to a crisp finish. This is perfect for a wide variety of foods, but especially for shellfish! -Gary Westby, K&L

This vintage Champagne is composed of 70% Meunier 20% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay that are selected out from the Trudon estate by blind tasting. Jerome Trudon considers this a snap shot of the excellent 2012 harvest. We only recieved five cases of this subtly nutty, concentrated vintage Champagne!

91-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The sparkling rosé 2011 MM de Loxarel is a very pale blend of Xarello with 40% Pinot Noir that matured in bottle with the lees for no less than 42 months. The wine is more orange than pink, perhaps a darker shade of amber, and does not have any character of a rosé. Instead, it's leesy and a bit earthy, and the palate is very tasty, with yeasty flavors and a saline, almost marine sensation in the finish. It's moving at a slow pace but definitively maturing and developing some honeyed undertones. I think the pre...

The Underground Wine Letter says it best: "Launois Champagne was founded in 1872. Today, the Launois family owns nearly 46 acres of vineyards mostly in the Grand Cru village of Mesnil. All Launois Champagnes are Blanc de Blancs and all are Grand Cru. This producer consistently makes some of the very best Blanc de Blancs Champagnes, and the quality/price ratio is exceptional. This is a must visit if you are in Champagne, not only for the fabulous Champagne, but to visit Bernard Launois's private museum. It encompasses a large portion of the Mesnil villag...

Carpano Antica Formula Sweet Vermouth (1L)
Top Pick!
95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Rich, fruity and enticing, this sweet vermouth is warmed with notes of fig and dried cherries, and just faint hints of spiced gingerbread and bitter orange peel. Drinkable solo as an apéritif, or use it as a cocktail-mixing favorite. (KN)" (04/2014) K&L Notes: Carpano's Antica Formula, from the original recipe developed by Antonio Benedetto Carpano in 1786, is a sweet vermouth of the highest quality. This distinctive and powerful aromatized wine should be considered a standard component in any respectable bar. It can be serv...

2012 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
98 points James Suckling: "Such attractive, fresh, floral aromas here with fine bread, hints of white almonds and a lemon edge. White cherries and strong, chalky minerals, too. The palate has a very composed feel. Seamless and quite silky texture with effortless length and flow. Very fluid and composed. Very late, warming almond flavors. This is very long and smooth with a velvety finish. Super long pinot weight. Resolved and drinkable, but will age so well." (07/2019) 98 points Vinous: "The 2012 Cristal is another absolutely stellar wine this flight o...

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Premier Cru Extra Brut is sourced in Bouzy and Écueil and was picked between September 20th and October 3rd. The wine blends 55% Pinot Noir with 45% Chardonnay and was fermented 60% in Burgundian pièces. The straw-yellow colored wine offers a clear, precise and refreshing citrus aroma with mineral notes and good intensity. Full-bodied and charmingly round on the palate, this is an intense, lush and fruity vintage with a refreshing mineral finish. Disgorged in March 2017 with a dosage of four grams per li...

David Schildknecht writes: "A Fleury was allegedly the first French grower (in 1904) to replant Pinot on American root stock after phylloxera; his son (at the time very exceptionally) turned to domaine-bottling to ride out the Depression; and two generations later, Jean-Pierre Fleury became – by a considerable margin – Champagne’s first biodynamic grower. The self-described naturalism and minimalism of this pioneering estate – encompassing its minimal use of sulfur – can sometimes result in Fleury wines with an oxidative overlay or in other respects on t...

About this producer: "In the 19th century the founder of the family, Marie Arsène Brochet, would carefully select the best vinestocks in the vineyard and identify them with a touch of paint on the trunk. Already, her primary focus was the search for a very special quality and typicity of terroir. Only those vinestocks marked with paint for three years in succession were selected for subsequent use in grafting. Through this selection massale technique, the Pinot Noir d’Ecueil has developed its exceptional character. This grape varietal is now used for ¾...

2008 Billecart-Salmon Extra Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
97 points Decanter: "A blend of 65% Pinot Noir consisting of Premier and Grand Crus from the Montagne de Reims and the Vallee de la Marne and 35% Chardonnay from the Cote des Blancs. Significantly, this has nine years ageing on its lees (longer than some Prestige Cuvees), the 2008 was first released onto the global market back in March 2019. With an Extra Brut dosage of 4g/l, this is a highly expressive, confident and convincing interpretation of the vintage. Right now, it is youthfully sharp and focused with fine salinity, depth, acidity and balance, an...

93 points Wine Spectator: "This vibrant rosé is tightly knit and racy, with a floral overtone and flavors of peach skin, white cherry, whole-grain toast and chalky mineral showing finely honed precision as they ride the creamy, detailed mousse. (AN)" (11/2019) 92 points James Suckling: "A bright nose of strawberry and pink-grapefruit aromas with hints of blood oranges and berries, as well as almond biscuits. The palate has a super vibrant, fleshy ball of fresh red-fruit flavor and delivers a refreshing, minerally finish." (07/2019) 92 points Robert P...

This is four years on lees. 55% Chardonnay and the rest Pinot." (07/2019) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is smooth and softly textured wine. With its relatively high dosage and creamy texture, this standard nonvintage cuvée is immediately accessible and delicious. Great fruit makes it a great aperitif style of Champagne. Smooth, sorbet-like palate." (10/2017) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Graceful, sleek and finely knit, with a subtle range of nectarine, lemon curd, almond blossom and ground ginger flavors, expanding on the silky mousse. 2009 Dérot-Delugny Millesime Brut Champagne

This 30-acre estate only keeps one third of their production for making their own Champagne, selling off the rest of their fruit. They are the oldest grower-producer in their village; they have been estate-bottling Champagne since 1929, and they’ve been growing grapes longer than written records go back. Everything is aged in a hillside cellar that is over 50 feet deep at the back. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Denois’s non-vintage Chardonnay Brut Blanc de Blancs. Legally, this “traditional method” wine is merely a vin mousseux, yet it is in fact a tribute to the terroir of Limoux (whose sparkling wine appellation must be based on the local Blanquette de Limoux a.k.a. Mauzac grape, for which Denois evidently has little respect). It will be hard to find a more delicious and interesting sparkling wine for the price. Ripe apricot, grapefruit, blueberries, and lily in the nose lead to an intensely pit-fruited palate that – despite a ...

At this beautiful little organic domaine in Vouvray, all the wines are made from 100% Chenin Blanc but vary in degrees of sweetness depending on where the grapes are harvested from. Planted in the sandy clay soils over tuffeau (that magical chalky soil of the Loire), these wines show the range of the quality that can be found in Vouvray for a mere pittance.

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From an ungrafted Pinot Noir vineyard planted in 1973 (on sandy soils) and picked on September 25th at 11.2 potential alcohol, the 2012 Extra Brut Blanc de Noirs Premier Cru les Francs de Pied offers very clear, fresh, precise and delicate fruit on the nose. Fermented 100% in used oak barrels, this is a pure, highly finessed, very elegant and terribly salty Pinot Noir with a very long, complex yet pure, tensioned and very long finish. This is well structured and persistent. (SR)" (08/2018)

Pairs well with: Tailgates, Gamedays and Watch Parties!"

2018 Silvano Follador Prosecco Superiore Brut Nature
Top Pick!
Ian D'Agata writes: "Silvano Follador is in my opinion the single best producer of Prosecco today, though his recent decision to stop making Cartizze so as to focus on just one wine that would best express the denominazione’s potential and terroir is one that pains me immensely. That said, Follador is a true master of the Glera grape variety and the 20,000 bottles of wine he makes a year (he owns 3.5 hectares - 8.6 acres), made in a relatively drier style than most of his colleagues, are much sought after by wine lovers and collectors." If you have enjoyed the wines of Lallement, Bollinger and Krug in the past, we think you will very much enjoy Michel Arnould. They are bold, masculine Champagnes with plenty of toasty flavor. This is a blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay, entirely from estate vineyards in the Grand Cru of Verzenay. Verzenay is the northernmost of all the Grand Crus in this northernmost of French wine regions. The whole village faces north, the wrong way, away from the sun, and yet miraculously ripens Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Some say it's because of a meteor tha...

Laurent-Perrier "Cuvée Rosé" Brut Rosé Champagne
Top Pick!
96 points Connoisseurs Guide: "Elegant and fruity at the same time with a quick invitation from bright, pure cherryish notes and then filled out handsomely by whiffs of chalky soils and well-integrated, rich and uplifting yeast-driven scents, this wine manages to be both vigorous and layered at one and the same time. Its bubbles are insistent, finely carved and add to the early sensations of lightness and energy yet also carry the wine long into a balanced, refined finish. And its latter palate grip is exactly what one should expect from the genre. While...

Veuve Clicquot Brut Champagne

92 points James Suckling: "Some oyster shell, berry biscuits, fresh strawberries and gently toasty brioche here. Lots to like. The palate is plump and flavorsome with plenty of berries and citrus intertwined. Good depth here. Grapefruit finish. Drink now. " (07/2018) 90 points Decanter: "Veuve's 'yellow label' non-vintage Champagne is perhaps the region's most recognisable. It's a blend of around 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier, from up to 60 different crus. The doughy base shows a hint of creaminess, layered with light and fresh f...

Ripe and intense on the palate, with good grip and purity, this is an expressive, complex and persistent Blanc de Blancs with a long, refined and refreshing finish. 2006 Billecart-Salmon "Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Created in 1964 as a tribute to the house’s founder, the youngest release is the 2006 Millésime Brut Cuvée Nicolas François, a blend of 60% Pinot Noir from premier and grand crus from the Montagne de Reims and the Grande Vallée de la Marne and 40% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. Almost entirely fermented in stainless steel (only 5% was vinified in oak barrels) and aged for 11 years on the lees, this is a beautifully ripe and rich yet pure champagne with ripe fruit flavors intermixed with chalky notes and bri...

This great bottle comes from the far northern edge of Champagne in the Massif St-Thierry, north of Reims. All of the vines for this 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Meunier cuvée come from Cormincy, the last village in Champagne before the flats facing out towards the Ardennes. As one would expect from a Blanc de Noir, this is a full-bodied wine with plenty of savory red fruit flavor. Due to its far northern provenance, this Champagne also has great snap and refreshment to balance out its power. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne Buyer)

(03/2018) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "The small Sézanne region of Champagne is known for its Chardonnay (as exemplified by this wine) with its crisp mineral texture. 92 points Wine & Spirits: "A selection of Riesling named for the estate’s founder, this grows on clay-limestone soils, mostly around the village of Eguisheim. It’s a rich wine with enough limestone abrasion to the acidity that it feels clean and fresh, the generously concentrated flavors of lemon and golden apple edged with bitter notes of quinine, dandelion greens and lemon zest. Tingling with energy." (04/2018) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Delightful peachy notes define the fruity friendly nose. The palate adds zesty lemon to this rich fruit to create...
