2013 Domaine la Colliere "La Fontaine" Rasteau (Previously $30)

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made from 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre, from 40- to 70-year-old vines, the 2013 Rasteau La Fontaine is a gorgeous effort that has classic Rasteau richness and depth, yet also shows a seamless, elegant and classy style. Black raspberry, currants, ground herbs and pepper all emerge from this full-bodied, nicely concentrated effort, and while it has a soft, supple feel, it should evolve nicely for 4-5 years. Located in Rasteau, this small, family run estate was create by Georges Perrot, who bottled his first wine ...

2016 Domaine des Escaravailles "La Ponce" Rasteau

95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "One of the finest wines to date from this estate as well as from the appellation, the 2016 Rasteau La Ponce shows the exuberance and depth of the vintage, yet also has thrilling purity of fruit and perfect balance. Revealing a deep purple color as well as classic notes of blackberries, crushed rocks, graphite, and violets, it offers a full-bodied, ultra-pure, polished style on the palate that gains depth, richness and length with time in the glass. It’s a great, great Rasteau that readers should snatch up. This Rasteau-based estat ...

2012 Domaine Grand Nicolet "Vieilles Vignes" Rasteau

91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012s here are loaded with potential. Starting out, the 2012 Rasteau Vieilles Vignes is 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, with the Grenache aged all in concrete and the Syrah in 2-year-old barrels. Full-bodied, rich and beautifully proportioned, with sweet, silky tannin and rocking length, it gives up copious cassis, currants, graphite, crushed rock and licorice aromas and flavors. Classic Rasteau, it’s well worth seeking out and should shine for upward of a decade. Drink 2014-2022. Run by Jean-Pierre Bertrand ...

2016 Domaine La Soumade "Cuvee Confiance" Rasteau

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Nearly as great as the Fleur, the 2016 Rasteau Cuvee Confiance is 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah. Raspberry and mint notes appear on the nose, followed by a full-bodied, rich, velvety wine with a never-ending finish. Despite the incredible richness and concentration, the wine remains fresh and fragrant, lithe and agile, turning silky and lingering. It's another tremendous effort from the Romero family. Founder André Romero is in semi-retirement, having passed the reins to his son Frédéric, but he still managed to ...

1998 Domaine Gourt de Mautens (Jérôme Bressy) Rasteau

Robert Parker writes: "This is one of the sensational estates in Rasteau, with proprietor Jerome Bressy farming just over 20 acres of vines. Organic farming and the naturally low yields of his old vines (8-15 hectoliters per hectare) result in wines of extraordinary concentration and intensity. The general blend on his Rasteau is 70% Grenache and the rest Syrah, Mourvedre, and Carignan."
