2016 Azelia Langhe Nebbiolo

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Langhe Nebbiolo gives us a very encouraging glimpse into the future. Nebbiolo from this cool vintage is phenomenal, and we should have some beautiful surprises very soon when the 2016 Barbarescos and Barolos are released. For now, we can enjoy a wine like this. Aged in stainless steel, this expression opens to a beautiful ruby hue with dark garnet highlights. The effect is crisp, luminous and bright. The varietal purity is especially evident on the bouquet, thanks to cassis, wild rose, blueberry and fres ...

2013 La Prevostura "Muntacc" Coste della Sesia Rosso

Jancis Robinson: "A shade paler than the 2013 Garsun just tasted. Pretty, fresh nose and vibrant Nebbiolo fruit palate with a wonderful bite of grainy tannins. Real life and vigour and appetising austerity on the finish. 17/20 points. (WS)" (10/2015) Wine Spectator: "This is fresh, elegant and detailed, revealing cherry, strawberry, earth and spice notes. A bit dry on the firm finish, but food will help. Nebbiolo with Vespolina. Drink now through 2020. (BS, Web Only-2018)" K&L Notes: Grown on part of the Prevostura hill, from a typical northern Piedmo ...

2018 Proprieta Sperino "Rosa del Rosa" Piemonte

Proprietà Sperino is the realisation of a dream: to restore the important tradition of Lessona wines by recovering the historic cellars to produce a wine with the greatest respect for local tradition. In the ‘seventies, Paolo De Marchi moved to Tuscany where he founded the wine producing estate Isole & Olena, which played a leading role in the rebirth of Chianti Classico. But his desire was to return to his family origins one day, and indeed in 1999 with his son Luca he did, and once again took the reins of the historic family estate, at the Castle of Le ...

2017 Marco Porello Nebbiolo d'Alba

From importer Oliver McCrum Wines: I have been looking for a producer in the Roero (see Glossary) for some time, mainly because I like to drink Arneis (see Glossary), and that's principally where it comes from. They also make some very good Nebbiolo, in a forward, attractive style that is good for drinking young while you wait for your Barolos to come of age. One of the many producers I tasted with was the young Marco Porello, whose wines I found very well-made but lacking in concentration. At the 2002 Vinitaly trade fair Marco grabbed me and dragged me ...
