2010 Domaine Faiveley Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru "Les Saint Georges" (Pre-Arrival)

94 points Vinous: "Medium red. Highly nuanced scents and flavors of red raspberry, smoky minerality and flowers. Wonderfully broad and horizontal on the palate, with a tactile, plush mouthfeel not shown by the other Nuits-Saint-Georges premier crus here. Intriguing saline minerality carries through on the suave, very long finish. Utterly seamless. As at a few other top addresses in the village, this is a Les Saint-Georges of grand cru class.(ST)" (03/2013) 92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As is generally the case chez Faiveley, this is the most ...

2015 Domaine Faiveley Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru "Les Porets St. Georges" (Pre-Arrival)

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "This generous although also complex wine brings in many elements. With lush tannins and concentrated acidity it has a dry, still very young character. The weight of juicy fruit suggests a future that is rich and for the long-term. Drink from 2025." (02/2018) 94 points James Suckling: "Extremely rich and opulent aromas with blueberries, orange peel and peach seeds. Flowers, too. Full and round, offering up rich tannins and a flavorful finish. Very persistent. Drink in 2021 but already a joy to drink." (04/2017) 93 points Wi ...

2007 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Clos des Porrets"

92 points John Gilman: "The 2007 Clos des Porrets from the Gouges family is a very lovely and promising example of the vintage, but even out of half bottle, this is still a very young wine. As a matter of fact, over the course of the couple of hours that I drank this wine over dinner, it actually closed down, rather than blossoming! But, there is a fine wine just starting to stir here, as the bouquet is a lovely blend of red and black cherries, a touch of pomegranate, woodsmoke, incipient notes of black truffle, a complex base of soil, French roast and g ...

2016 Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat Nuits-St.-Georges 1er Cru "Murgers"

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A brooding and all but mute nose requires aggressive swirling to reveal its notes of intensely earthy aromas of dark currant and raspberry where a background nuance of the sauvage appears. The rich, full-bodied, naturally sweet and lightly mineral-suffused flavors possess good freshness and a seductive texture before culminating in an impressively complex, driving and palate staining finish. This is more refined than it usually is yet a wine that doesn't lack for power and punch. In short, this excellent effort is pr ...

2007 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Vaucrains" (Pre-Arrival)

93 points John Gilman: "Not surprisingly, the 2007 Domaine Gouges Vaucrains is one of the more structured examples of the vintage, but it shows all of the inherent purity of this year in the Côte d’Or and is going to be an excellent wine with a bit more bottle age. The bouquet offers up a fine constellation of red and black cherries, nutskin, venison, coffee, fresh herb tones, forest floor, a nice touch of botanicals and a topnote of charred wood. On the palate the wine is pure, full- bodied, complex and really rock solid at the core for an ’07, with mod ...

2007 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits.-Saiint Georges 1er Cru "Les Saint Georges" (Pre-Arrival)

94 points John Gilman: "And the 2007 Les St. Georges- simply brilliant! The deep and very complex nose soars from the glass in a beautiful mélange of red and black cherries, dark berries, espresso, bitter chocolate, a touch of graphite and a kaleidoscopic base of soil. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure, with a rock solid core of sappy fruit, fine-grained, but substantial tannins, zesty acidity and brilliant length and grip on the pure and transparent finish. A great, great wine. (Drink between 2017-2060)" (02/2009) 93 points Win ...

2008 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Vaucrains"

93 points John Gilman: "The combination of very little juice in the berries and severe selection has brought the yields down in the Vaucrains to eighteen hectoliters per hectare, so there is not going to be a whole lot of this stunning Nuits in the marketplace. Make sure to make your reservations early. The wine was also late to finish up its malo and was showing a touch reduced, but this is clearly a stellar wine in the making. The bouquet is a deep, complex and reserved blend of black cherries, blood orange, great minerality, woodsmoke, gamebirds and c ...

90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Firm reduction renders the nose impossible to evaluate. The sleek and beautifully detailed if not particularly concentrated middle weight flavors offer even better depth and persistence. This is certainly very pretty if not at its usual level." (01/2019) 92 points John Gilman: "The 2017 Murgers chez Méo is another lovely and potentially velvety wine in the making. 2013 Domaine Leroy Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Aux Boudots" (Pre-Arrival)

93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There is a strong marine influence on the 2013 Nuits Saint Georges les Boudots that infuse the very focused, mineral-driven, black bilberry and blackberry fruit. The palate is very intense and with great body and presence. Supple tannins make an immediate impression however, it is the weight of the fruit that really comes across with a dash of white pepper on the long peacock’s tail finish. This Boudots is endowed with immense complexity and ambition. Superb.(NM)" (12/2014)

2013 Domaine Leroy Nuits. St. Georges 1er Cru "Aux Vignerondes" (Pre-Arrival)

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An ultra-fresh and notably spice dark currant, plum and softly earth-inflected nose leads to sleek, intense and well-detailed middle weight flavors that possess fine depth and persistence on the ever-so-slightly lean finish. This is very 2013 in style with a mild acid tang yet I like the overall delivery and this should reward extended keeping. In a word, lovely." 2016 Domaine Michel Gros Nuits-St-Georges

88-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This too is reduced and the only aspect that I can mention is a subtle touch of wood. Otherwise there is notably better size, weight and richness as the medium-bodied flavors possess an admirable abundance of sappy dry extract that also buffers the firm but not hard core of tannins. This isn't refined but it's very Nuits and should age well but also drink well young thanks to the extract." 2017 Domaine Sylvain Cathiard Nuits-St.-Georges 1er Cru "Les Murgers" (Pre-Arrival)

It's a firmer, more structured wine with plenty of colour, some sweet spices, dense plum and blueberry fruit and a backbone of tannin.Drinking Window 2025 - 2032. 2006 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Vaucrains" (Pre-Arrival)

92-94 points John Gilman: "Despite its reduced state, it is clear that the 2006 Vaucrains will be a blockbuster example of the vintage, as the wine is deep, full-bodied, rock solid and very soil-driven. Of course this is a wine with no makeup, and its natural beauty will decade at least a decade of cellaring before it fully comes into view. The wine is black fruity, meaty and extremely expressive of its underlying soil, with a great core of fruit, firm tannins and a very, very long and intense finish. This seems to have great potential. 2016 Domaine Jean Grivot Nuits-St-Georges "Les Charmois"

All the elements are in the right proportions. Best from 2022 through 2038. 98 cases made. (BS, Web Only-2019)" 88-90 points Vinous: "Bright, dark red with ruby tones. 1996 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Vaucrains" (Pre-Arrival)

90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine is outstanding. Revealing a color verging on dark ruby, this (also from 60 year old vines) has expressive aromas of blackberries, cassis, minerals, and porcini mushrooms. It has intense, mouth-coating, and rich layers of sweet black fruit-drenched stones, and earth-like flavors, as well as a rich, broad and deeply ripe full body. In addition, this very impressive wine offers an extremely long finish loaded with fat and round tannins. Drink it between 2004 and 2009. I am happy to report that progress ...

A still primary nose reflects the same reserved notes of crushed herbs, earth, dried flowers where a touch of the sauvage adds interest to the fresh and cool red pinot fruit aromas. It is a feminine-styled Nuits, with lush red and black fruits and minerals in its medium-to-full-bodied, forward, chewy-textured and seductive flavor profile. Interestingly, this wine's finish is firmer and more "Nuits" than its attack or mid-palate suggested. However, readers should not be concerned as the tannins are well-ripened and supple.
