2015 Château de Montfaucon "Baron Louis" Lirac

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The rich, tannic 2015 Lirac Baron Louis spent a year in barrel, a year in tank and a year in bottle prior to release. It offers up scents of leather, cedar and vanilla, but it balances out the oak with dark fruit notes of cola, plum and spice. It's full-bodied and velvety on the palate, while hints of licorice emerge on the lengthy finish. This wine has clearly emerged as one of the top Liracs. (JC)" (11/2018) K&L Notes: An 88-acre estate, Château de Montfaucon sits just across the Rhône River from the esteemed ...

2015 Domaine de la Janasse Côtes-du-Rhône Reserve

92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "A special cuvée for importer Eric Solomon, the 2015 Côtes du Rhône Reserve is a beauty that’s from a blend of 55% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 10% Carignan, and 5% each of Mourvèdre, 5% Cinsault. Kirsch liqueur, black cherries, ground herbs, and garrigue notes all emerge from this this ripe, sexy, opulent Côtes du Rhône. Balanced and layered on the palate, with some serious oomph, it’s a smoking value! Drink through 2022." (02/2018)

2015 Xavier Vignon Lirac

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An unusual southern Rhône blend of 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache, the 2015 Lirac offers bright, juicy acidity and medium-bodied richness. Giving up lots of peppery notes, olive and darker fruits, it has good concentration and impressive purity. (JC)" (12/2016)

2015 Chateau de Vaudieu "Amiral G" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Previously $90)

96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "My favorite in the lineup is the 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Amiral G., and like all the cuvées here, it has a voluptuous, sexy, yet elegant style. Black raspberries, framboise, spice-box, and floral notes all give way to a full-bodied, powerful, yet incredibly elegant Châteauneuf that has a weightless texture and a blockbuster finish. It's already drinking nicely, yet should cruise for a decade. This is another great lineup from Chateau de Vaudieu, who have risen to the top of the heap recently. They make a perfumed, elegant style o ...

2015 John Duval "Plexus" GSM Barossa Valley South Australia

94 points James Halliday: "Matured for 15 months in French oak (10% new). Richly robed in luscious fruits supported by gentle tannins and a dab of oak. It is well made (of course) and is strongly Barossan in temperament. What you make of this will depend on your personal preference." (08/2017) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A Grenache, Shiraz, Mataro blend, the 2015 Plexus has a pale to medium garnet-purple color and nose of kirsch, red currant jelly and raspberry preserves with hints of Chinese five spice, hoisin, roses, black pepper and un ...

2015 Château du Mourre du Tendre "Vieilles Vignes" Cotes du Rhone Village

90 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2015 Côtes du Rhône Villages Vieilles Vignes Cuvée Tradition is another classic wine from this estate. Kirsch, currants, dried flowers, leather and some toasted, nutty notes all emerge from this medium-bodied, old-school, yet polished red that has tons of character. This cuvee is 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre brought up in concrete and foudres for a minimum of three years before release. " (02/2018)

2015 Domaine des Girasols "Tradition" Rasteau

2015 Chimère (Sine Qua Non) Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L)

97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Chimère is a selection of Mourvèdre made by the Maurel brothers of Clos Saint Jean, oenologist Philippe Cambie, and Sine Qua Non genius Manfred Krankl. I believe there’s a touch of Grenache in the blend, as well as some Clairette and other varieties, but the bulk of this cuvée comes from the famed la Crau lieu-dit and is brought up all in demi-muids. It offers a beautiful perfume of sweet kirsch and blueberry fruit intermixed with loads of licorice, sweet spice, violets, and crushed rocks. Full-bodied, ...

2015 Mas Karolina Maury Grenat Vin Doux Naturel

Mas Karolina is the project of Caroline Bonville, cousin of Olivier Bonville, who is proprietor of one of our favorite Champagne houses, Franck Bonville. Caroline originally hails from Bordeaux where much of her family still resides. Looking for her own property, she settled in the village of Maury located in the Roussillon. There, her restrained sensibilities are making some of the most pristine, clean and balanced wines in the region. This Maury is made in the classic fortified style much like the French equivalent of a ruby styled port. Rich and ful ...

2015 Next of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Cumulus Vineyard No. 9'' Central Coast Red Blend

99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Composed of 45% Syrah, 22% Grenache, 16.8% Mourvèdre, 5% Touriga Nacional and 1.2% Viognier, the Next of Kin 2015 Cumulus Vineyard #9 was fermented using 42% whole clusters and the rest was destemmed. It was matured for 34 months in oak, 40% of which was new. Deep garnet-purple, the nose unabashedly struts its stuff, giving up flamboyant plum preserves, blackberry compote, Black Forest cake and star anise notes with hints of Sichuan pepper, forest floor, lavender, lilacs, Ceylon tea and smoked meats. Top Pick!
2015 Domaine L'Ostal "Grand Vin" Minervois La Livinière (Previously $25)

91 points Wine Spectator: "A spicy, full-bodied red, with a white pepper note edging the pure and focused cherry and boysenberry fruit. Accents of licorice, herb and mineral detail the earth-tinged finish. Moderate tannins. Syrah, Carignan, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2023. (GS)" (10/2018) Jancis Robinson: "Tasted blind. Dark mid crimson. A clarety build to this one. Ripe cru bourgeois?! Sweet start and big and bold but without exaggeration. 2015 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape

98 points Wine Spectator: "This has a drop-dead gorgeous core of cassis and raspberry pâte de fruit flavors that holds center stage but still allows notes of Lapsang souchong tea, anise, incense and shiso leaf to chime in. Very long, with a sublime feel through the mineral-tinged finish. So seductive already, but this will cruise in the cellar. Drink now through 2040. *Collectables, No. 14 Top 100 Wines of 2017* (JM)" (08/2017) 97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bottled in May, the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape is a floral, elegant, unbelievably comp ...

95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Made from mostly Grenache, the 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape A La Gloire de Mon Grand-Père is another beauty that's up with the crème de las crème of the vintage. Kirsch, strawberries, dried flowers and spice notes give way to a full-bodied, supple, sexy red that has sweet tannin and a great finish. While it's a big, rich wine, it glides across the palate and is never heavy. It should keep for 10-15 years. A blend of 95% Syrah and 5% Viognier sourced from the Valliere and Coteau de Bassenon lieux-dits, aged in 20% new oak, it has a beautiful perfume of black raspberries, dried flowers, incense, and cured meats. 2015 E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône

Spicy, peppery, hickory aromas lead off, adding berries up front and then moving into darker fruit and more savory notes of black olive by the finish. This medium to full-bodied wine finishes long and silky, avoiding any of the vintage's hard tannins, while still boasting the concentration to drink well through at least 2023. Coming from a single parcel of very old vines in the La Crau Lieu-dit, it boasts full-bodied richness and depth to go with a kaleidoscope-like bouquet of strawberries, kirsch liqueur, incense and dried earth/loamy soils aromas. 2015 M. Chapoutier "Croix de Bois" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L)

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "At the top end of Chapoutier's Southern Rhône hierarchy are the two sélections parcellaires from Châteauneuf du Pape. I had a slight preference for the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Croix de Bois, which comes from the Bédarrides (eastern) side of the appellation, a site with galets roulés over clay, which Chapoutier says resists drought. This is a full-bodied, dense, plummy wine, but it retains ample freshness and offers loads of spicy complexity, including exotic notes like cumin and coriander that linger enticingly ...
