2018 Pursued by Bear "Blushing Bear" Columbia Valley Rosé

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Mourvèdre makes up half of this wine, with the rest 30% Grenache and 20% Cinsault. The aromas intrigue, with notes of citrus rind, herbs, star fruit, strawberry and spice. Broad-feeling, well-balanced, mouthwatering fruit flavors follow. The acidity keeps the interest high. Yum. (SS)" (09/2019) Wine Spectator: "Delicate and pretty, with crisp strawberry, orange peel and rose petal accents that dance lithely along the finish. Mourvèdre, Grenache and Cinsault. 2010 Tablas Creek "Esprit de Beaucastel" Paso Robles Rhône Blend

93-95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Firm, structured, and showing the coolness of the vintage beautifully, the 2010 Tablas Creek Esprit de Beaucastel (45% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache, 21% Syrah, and 4% Counoise) is a fresh, focused, and balanced red that has loads of crushed berry like fruit, licorice, sappy underbrush, and floral nuances, as well as superb underlying minerality, all emerging from the glass. Quite tight and firm on the palate, with excellent purity, juicy acidity, and a youthful, energetic feel, this will most likely require 3-5 years of bottle age o ...

2014 Epoch "Ingenuity - Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend

95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2014 Ingenuity checks in as 50% Syrah, 25% Grenache, 18% Mourvèdre and the balance Petite Sirah brought up in 36% new French oak barrels and puncheons. This is a big, rich, meaty Paso red that offers full-flavored notes of plums, blackberries, violets and hints of white chocolate, full-bodied richness, ripe tannin and a big finish. I love its purity, and this puppy is just loaded with fruit, texture and charm." 2017 Clos Bellane Côtes du Rhône-Villages Valréas

90-92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Peppery herbs, flowers, and mint as well as plenty of black (and some blue) fruits emerge from the 2017 Côtes du Rhône Villages Valréas. Based on 55% Grenache and 45% Syrah, it's medium-bodied, nicely concentrated, and balanced, with both richness and freshness." (08/2018) K&L Notes: Stephane Vedeau is the proprietor/winemaker behind critical darling Les Fermes du Mont. (TF)" (12/2018) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made of Petite Sirah, Syrah and Malbec and aged for ten months in 40% new French oak, the deep purple-black colored 2016 Proprietary Red Machete sings of crushed black raspberries and warm blackberries with hints of bay leaves, tilled soil and garrigue. 2015 E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As usual, the 2015 Cotes du Rhone features a majority of Syrah, largely sourced from the western side of the Rhône. Spicy, peppery, hickory aromas lead off, adding berries up front and then moving into darker fruit and more savory notes of black olive by the finish. This medium to full-bodied wine finishes long and silky, avoiding any of the vintage's hard tannins, while still boasting the concentration to drink well through at least 2023. 2017 Château de Saint Cosme "Le Poste" Gigondas

97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "More closed and backward than either the Hominis Fides or Le Claux, the 2017 Gigondas Le Poste is nevertheless just as impressive and offers its hallmark purity and elegance paired with stunning richness and depth. Black and blue fruits, crushed rocks, graphite, and a beautiful violet character all define the bouquet. Rich, full-bodied, and concentrated, it’s the purity of fruit and balance that set this beauty above just about every other Gigondas out there. Do your best to hide bottles for at least 4-5 years." 1995 Château de Fonsalette "Reserve" Côtes du Rhône

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1995 Chateau Fonsalette Côtes du Rhône is a twenty-year wine that requires 4-5 years of cellaring. It exhibits a black/purple color, good acidity and tannin, a closed, dense, moderately tannic personality, exceptional richness, and a powerful, full-bodied finish. Yields of 30 hectoliters per hectare were slightly higher than the 15-20 achieved in 1996. This is a wine for those who cannot find or afford to purchase Rayas. (RP)" (10/1997)

2016 Domaine La Bastide Saint Dominique "Les Hesperides" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

95-97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "I think even better, the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Hesperides reminds me a great vintage of Beaucastel’s Hommage A Jacques Perrin. A blend of equal parts Mourvèdre and Grenache, all from the les Bédines lieu-dit (this is all sandy soils), it offers sensational notes of blueberries, plums, peppery herbs, licorice, and violets. Full-bodied, decadent and layered, with an incredible opulence that makes it almost impossible to resist, I suspect it will shut down shortly after bottling, yet emerge with 4-5 years of cellaring and k ...

2013 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Incorporating more Petite Sirah than normal, and the first time there's been less than 50% Syrah, the 2013 Syrah Broken Stones is made from 48% Syrah, 22% Petite Sirah, 17% Grenache, 6% Mourvedre the rest Tempranillo and Roussanne. Its deep, inky color is followed by a structured, seriously mineral-laced and full-bodied red that offers lots of fruit (cassis, black cherries and raspberries), smoked earth and chocolate aromas and flavors. The tannin is front and center, yet they're beautifully ripe and polished. (J ...

2011 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (Previously 130)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The brilliant 2011 Syrah Broken Stones comes from a cooler block of the James Berry Vineyard and checks in as a blend of 78% Syrah, 18% Mourvedre and 4% Petit Sirah. Relatively forward (especially when compared to the locked up Bone Rock), with fabulous purity and freshness, it exudes notions of creme de cassis, blueberry, pepper, crushed flowers and sweet oak on the nose. Fermented with 40% whole clusters, it’s a big, burly effort that has beautiful creme de cassis, black raspberry, crushed violets, vanilla bean and exotic flower-like qualities all emerging from the glass. It too has a structured feel, with high, yet ripe tannin, so short-term cellaring is also advised here. (JD)" (08/2014) 92 ...

What starts out as a very modern seeming wine, with obvious oak, morphs into a quite Provencal wine with beautiful spice and hints of garrigue. 2013 Alban "Pandora" Edna Valley Rhône Blend

Lavender, cassis, black cherry liqueur, flowers and toasted spice emerge from this huge, ethereally textured, sensationally rich Grenache that's every bit as good as the perfect 2012. It needs 2-3 years of cellaring to show at its best, and will have 20 years of overall longevity.
