2015 Domaine Jean-Marc Burgaud Morgon "Côte du Py"
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2015 Domaine Jean-Marc Burgaud Morgon "Côte du Py" (93VN, 92RP). Vinous: "Deep ruby. Heady, mineral-tinged blue fruit, spicecake and floral pastille aromas, along with hints of cola and licorice. Sappy, penetrating and sharply focused black raspberry and boysenberry flavors smoothly blend power and delicacy and pick up an allspice nuance as the wine opens up. Closes impressively long and sweet, displaying subtle tannins and echoes of exotic spices and smoky minerals. (JR)" (01/2017)

2011 Domaine Trapet Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin "Ostrea"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Trapet Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin "Ostrea" (90VN). Vinous: "Weightless and gracious on the palate, the Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea is laced with raspberries, crushed flowers, mint and anise, all in a pointed, mid-weight style that is undeniably appealing. The lifted aromatics and beautifully articulated finish impart a sense of freshness that is quite appealing. From barrel, the Ostrea, which emerges from pre World War II parcels in Brochon, was quite a bit deeper. It will be interesting to see if that fruit re-emerges with more time in bottle (AG)" (03/2014)

1985 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this bottle of 1985 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes (94VN, 90BH). Vinous: "The 1985 Musigny Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru is a wine that I last tasted back in May 2004 at a vertical in London. For me, this is the best vintage of that decade. The bouquet is earthy and spicy, not dissimilar to Christophe Roumier’s of that same year, although without the same delineation and complexity. This feels more feral and yet remains very attractive. The palate is medium-bodied and it is clearly at its peak of maturity. There is patently much more vigour than the 1988 tasted a few months earlier. There is weight and presence here, the tannins a tad rough around the edges and there is a dab of warmth towards the finish. Yet, you cannot deny the sheer enjoyable nature of this 1985 that in some ways harks back to the legendary wines of the 1940s and 1950s. Tasted at the La Paulée in Beaune. (NM)" (05/2019)

2000 Shafer "Relentless" Napa Valley Syrah
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2000 Shafer "Relentless" Napa Valley Syrah (94WE, 92RP, 92WS). Wine Enthusiast: "Shafer’s annual contribution to the Rhône gene pool is one incredible Syrah. It is inky black in color, due perhaps to some added Petite Sirah, with, yes, relentless aromas of blackberries, cassis, mocha, toast and vanilla. Doesn’t let you down once you sip, when it floods the mouth with dense berry-cherry flavors that, for all their lusciousness, are bone dry. On the finish, you can taste blackberry nectar for a full minute. *Editors' Choice*" (12/2003)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Andremily "No. 5" Santa Barbara County Syrah ((98-100JD), 97RP, 95VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "Not yet bottled, the 2016 No. 5 is a similar blend and is 91% Syrah, 6% Mourvèdre and 3% Viognier that will see just under two years in 70% new French oak. It offers slightly more stem characteristics with a La Mouline-like perfume of bacon fat, pepper, blackberries, earth, and chocolate. Deep, full-bodied, opulent and hedonistic, yet pure, elegant and structured, it's unquestionably another brilliant wine from Jim." (10/2018)

Of the 2006 Bounty Hunter "Blind Justice - Beckstoffer To Kalon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend,Wine Spectator writes: "Firm and tight, full-bodied and well-structured, with a mix of rich, spicy currant, cedar, lead pencil, blackberry and mineral. 2011 Cayuse "Armada Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Cayuse "Armada Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (98RP, 94WS, 93VN, 93WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Syrah Armada Vineyard is spectacular, and one of the highlights of this tasting, bursting from the glass with aromas of dark chocolate, smoked duck, blackberries, licorice, cassis, burning embers, tapenade and cracked black pepper. On the palate, it's full-bodied, layered and mouthwateringly savory, with cool fruit tones, a lovely underlying line of acidity and plenty of youthful energy, concluding with a refined but gently tannic finish. The product of a cool vintage that many dismissed, Baron dropped 80% of his fruit and did a 20% saigné to produce this compelling wine that screams Syrah and Walla Walla—but also more than nods to the Northern Rhône. 1989 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1989 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (98DC, 96WS). Decanter: "1989 was an early year, with flowering three weeks ahead of usual. Now at 30 years old, a floral aspect curls out of the glass, with touches of roses and peonies, followed on the palate by bilberries and blackberries, with a cigar smoke and eucalyptus finish. It's still vigorous in its tannic structure, but it's soft and supple enough to enjoy today. This bottle was recorked by hand at the winery last year, with five people checking every single one of the 5,000 bottles remaining at the chateau. The wines were topped up from magnums of the 1989. 3% Petit Verdot completes the blend - a variety not used in the grand vin since 1996. (JA)" (11/2018)

2014 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Knights Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Knights Valley Chardonnay (99RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Equally provocative and profound is the magnificent 2014 Chardonnay Point Rouge. Complex notes of tropical fruits intermixed with toast, smoked almonds, brioche and white peach are stunning in this prodigious, full-bodied, multidimensional Chardonnay. Both the 2015 and 2014 are 10- to 15-year wines, but extremely difficult to find in the marketplace. As I have mentioned in the past, readers should note the slight greenish hue to all of the Peter Michael Chardonnays, which seems to be a healthy sign of high-quality fruit and the chlorophyll from the vines. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Though less powerful than the 2003, the aromatically floral 2004 Merlot holds its own in a qualitative comparison. Its nose of roses, wild berries, and cherries leads to a medium to full-bodied, pure core of spicy black cherries. (PR)" (04/2006)

1999 Falesco "Marciliano" Umbria
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1999 Falesco "Marciliano" Umbria (94RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The first vintage of Riccardo Cotarella's newest baby is the 1999 Marciliano. Aged 16 months in 100% new French oak, and bottled unfined and unfiltered, this 70% Cabernet Sauvignon/30% Cabernet Franc blend already displays a fabulous, complex fragrance of lavender, mint, creme de cassis, licorice, spice box, and toasty oak. Dense, with great fruit and richness on the attack, extraordinary elegance and precision, and a long, layered finish, it is not as hedonistic as the Montiano, but it is potentially more complex, with more subtlety and nuances. Like the Montiano, the Marciliano is a wine of first-growth quality, and deserves serious attention. (RP)" (12/2002)

1999 Hanzell Sonoma Valley Chardonnay

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This 1999 Chardonnay, no shy wine at 14.5% alcohol, plays it close to the vest in aromatics and flavors ... at least for now. Citrus and mineral notes are displayed in a crisp, full style. It is high in acidity, yet intense, with a striking minerality atypical for most California Chardonnays. Exceptional precision makes it a wine to cellar for a few years, and drink over the following decade. (RP)" (06/2002)

Bid on this bottle of 2013 Carter "Beckstoffer To Kalon-The Grand Daddy" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 95VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As for the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The Grand Daddy, I’d love to say that we seem to be at that three-digit magical number again. Unbelievable notes of road tar, truffle, blackberry, cassis and charcoal embers soar from the glass of this inky purple-colored wine. This shows nice, gravelly, earthy notes intermixed with a floral component, blackberry and blueberry, a sensationally saturated purple color and fabulous opulence and richness. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Les Pavots, a Bordeaux varietal blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot, is brilliant. Its opaque purple color is accompanied by gorgeously complex aromas of melted chocolate, espresso roast, blackberries, and cassis. There's plenty of character, with a polished, refined style, yet tannic. Best after 2011. (JS)" (03/2008)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Philipponnat "Clos de Goisses" Brut Champagne (95BH, 94JG, 94ST, 94VN, 90WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is more mature than the 2001 with a beautifully layered nose of yeast, lemon rind, brioche, dried flowers and spice hints. There is excellent volume and superb intensity to the firm mousse that despite the firmness exhibits a very fine bead. This is exceptionally impressive in the mouth with the same striking complexity of the nose coupled with positively gorgeous length. A knockout that could be drunk now with pleasure or held for a few more years first; personally I would opt for the latter but either way, this is a classic Clos des Goisses. " (01/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is intense, expressive and open for business with exuberant blackberry and blueberry notes plus hints of cedar, dried herbs, violets, pencil shavings and menthol. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a soft, rich decadence about it, with nice smooth tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with satisfying toasty notes. (LPB) 93+" (10/2017)

2013 Christopher Tynan Wines "Meleagris Gallopavo Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Christopher Tynan Wines "Meleagris Gallopavo Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100JD, 100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even for someone who has been doing this for thirty-eight years, there are times when you taste something that sort of breaks through all preconceived notions and reference points. I knew Christopher Tynan as a winemaker for Cliff Lede, but this is his wine, and it is outrageously spectacular and incredibly singular and special. The wine is extraordinary. Of course, it comes from a great vintage for Bordeaux varieties in Napa – 2013. This is a killer effort. A singular, profound and majestic Cabernet Sauvignon from what is called old vines, which can mean anything from 25 to 125 years old. I’m trying to figure out what this wine reminds me of – is it a Chateau Latour in a great vintage such as 1982, 1961? Is it a 1986 Mouton Rothschild? Is it a 1978 Diamond Creek Volcanic Hill? Is it a 1969 Chappellet? Or? Inky bluish/black/pur

2010 Peter Michael "Ma Danseuse" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Peter Michael "Ma Danseuse" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (100RP, 93DC, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Pure perfection, the amazing 2010 Pinot Noir Ma Danseuse is one of the greatest Pinots I have ever tasted ... anywhere. There are only 140 cases of this beauty, which was cropped at just over a ton of fruit per acre. It offers up notes of bouquet garni, roasted meats, black raspberries, black currants, strawberries and cherries. Deep and full-bodied with a flawless integration of acidity, tannin, wood and alcohol, this glorious Pinot Noir should prove to be legendary. It will age effortlessly for 12+ years. (RP)" (12/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of several parcels on schistous soils, the 2016 Cote Rotie Champon's is firm and tannic, in need of 3-4 years in the cellar. It's medium to full-bodied, with ample concentration, bold flavors of grilled plums and a chewy finish. Drink 2021-2030. (JC)" (10/2018)

2003 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah (96RP, 94WE, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More sweet, ripe and up-front, with a downright sexy profile, the 2003 James Berry Vineyard Bone Rock checks in as a blend of 88% Syrah, 8% Grenache and 4% Mourvedre. From a hot vintage and a time when producers were pushing on the ripeness scale, this blockbuster pulls it off in style and offers up loads of sweet blackberry and kirsch fruit, dried flowers, incense, garrigue and licorice-like aromas and flavors. Showing tons of sweet fruit on the palate, with full-bodied richness and depth, sweet tannin and a great finish, it’s made in an unabashedly pedal-to-the-metal style that won’t appeal to everyone, but I’m a fan. It should continue to put a smile on everyone’s face for another 3-5 years. (JD)" (07/2014)

2017 Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2017 Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Producer's notes: "The vineyards we source from lie in both the southern portion of the appellation and in the northern true coastal zone. In the southern area, the Petaluma Wind Gap and the San Pablo Bay drive cooler temperatures and provide us with deep flavors and richly textured wines. The vineyards from the coastal reaches contribute more of the savory and spice characteristics that we love as well as great structure and poise. In our second year working with the fruit, Marshall Ranch, in Sebastopol, again proved to be an excellent cornerstone for our Sonoma Coast blend, offering vibrant fruit, crisp color and racy, grounded acidity. Nose: Forest floor, with blackberry, Bing cherry and bramble fruits. A hint of Rosemary. Mouth: Thoughtful and focused. Intense dark fruits with notes of blackberry and blueberry."

2012 Aubert Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Aubert Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Notes on the vintage and the winery from Antonio Galloni: "Mark Aubert is pretty emphatic in stating that 2012 is the greatest vintage he has seen in his 29 years of making wine. Good amounts of rain during the first part of the year put the vines in the conditions to set a healthy crop with no stress. The 2012 Chardonnays saw native fermentations that Aubert described as smooth. The wines were aged for about a year in barrel with no racking, followed by a brief period of about three months in tank prior to being bottled in December 2013. Extended macerations were the rule with the Pinot Noirs, which were aged about 14 months in barrel and also bottled in December 2013. As always, Mark Aubert aims for textural richness with his Chardonnays and Pinots, which tend to tip the scales in the 15.5% alcohol range. New oak levels are on the high side, but the wines rarely seem oaky, they are just incredibly textured. At their fin

2005 Leonetti Columbia Valley Merlot
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2005 Leonetti Columbia Valley Merlot (95WE, 94RP, 92W&S, 92WS, 90ST). Wine Enthusiast: "Bright, saturated, and deeply colored, this poster child Merlot proves that there is no other place in the world that can do Merlot in this style. Magnificent in color, aroma, depth and texture; it is polished, elegant, firm and confident. Blossom, fruit, herb and barrel aromas are beautifully interwoven. The tightly packed fruit has it all, from red, blue and black berries on to cherry and cassis. The mid-palate, though quite full, is fleshy and tight. The acids are firm but not sour, the tannins fine and smooth and ripe. The finish, still young and compact, hints at an almost existential longevity." (11/2007)

2015 Domaine Richard Rottiers Moulin-à-Vent
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2015 Domaine Richard Rottiers Moulin-à-Vent (94WE, 92RP, 92VN). Wine Enthusiast: "Produced from vines that are up to 80-years-old and now organic, this concentrated wood-aged wine is perfumed, rich and firmly structured. Dark tannins line the wine supporting the black plum and cherry fruits and acidity. Richard Rottiers, new on the scene in 2007, created a cru that is going to be a very fine wine. Drink from 2018. *Editors' Choice* (RV)" (03/2017)

2013 Pine Ridge "Fortis" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Pine Ridge "Fortis" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 94JS, 93WE, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The other 2013 offered in my tasting was the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Fortis, which is a blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec and 3% Merlot. An absolutely spectacular offering from Pine Ridge and one of their all-time great Cabernet Sauvignons, this prodigious blend has an inky purple color to the rim and a gorgeous nose of charcoal, asphalt, graphite, blueberry, blackberry and cassis, while not a trace of oak seems to make it through. The wine is large-scaled, massively extracted, but not without balance. It offers layers and layers of fruit, superb richness, and a long, moderately tannic finish. This is a wine for patient connoisseurs that needs to be put away for a good 4-5 years, but it could have 30-35 years of upside potential in a cold cellar. I tasted an array of wines from Pine Ridge. My notes on some late-release 2013s are followed

1982 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien (98RP, 95VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A massive wine that is clearly of first-growth quality in this vintage, the 1982 Gruaud Larose remains a youngster. A broodingly dense, thick, unctuously textured, inky/plum/garnet/purple color offers up scents of beef blood, steak tartare, cassis, herbs, tobacco, and underbrush. One of the most concentrated wines of the vintage (as well as one of the most concentrated Bordeaux’s I have ever tasted), it is a huge, full-bodied, weighty, rich wine whose tannins are getting silkier and silkier. It appears set for another 30-40 years of life. This behemoth is a singularly profound example of Gruaud Larose that continues to justify its legendary status. Anticipated maturity: now-2050. Of the 2003 Brewer-Clifton "Melville" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A glorious Richebourg look-alike, the deep ruby/purple-colored 2003 Pinot Noir Melville Vineyard (the only cuvee that does not include 100% stems) possesses extraordinary opulence along with big, sweet, floral, blueberry, raspberry, and boysenberry aromas displaying notions of cassis, spice, wood, and licorice in the background. 2001 Calera "Reed Vineyard" Mt. Harlan Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Calera "Reed Vineyard" Mt. Harlan Pinot Noir (90RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I tasted four 2001 Calera Pinot Noirs, including the 2001 Pinot Noir Reed Vineyard (a 4.4 acre parcel) whose light ruby color could cause it to be mistaken for a rose. Notions of sassafras, earth, kirsch liqueur, and spice emerge from this delicate, but authoritatively flavorful, medium-bodied, spicy Pinot. Reminiscent of a premier cru from the Cotes de Beaune, it should be consumed over the next 7-8 years. (RP)" (08/2005)

2001 Lucien Le Moine Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Cazetiers"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Lucien Le Moine Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Cazetiers". This has an absolutely lovely nose and classic character. This is made from 90 year old vines, and there is little doubt about that when you taste it. The pure, old-vine concentration is remarkable. The aromatics promise and the wine delivers. Red fruits, toasty oak, griottes, floral and lovely. Supple and integrated on the palate, plush and lovely. There is lots to like here. My notes were accompanied by a marginal note saying simply: "WOW". (Keith Wollenberg, K&L Burgundy Buyer) Steve Tanzer gives it 90-92 Points saying: "($76) Medium red. Sappy, liqueur-like aromas of raspberry, smoke and game. Creamy-sweet and lush in the mouth, with superripe kirsch and oak flavors and a seamless texture. But this also features sound, harmonious acidity. Finishes with firm tannins and subtle, sappy persistence." (International Wine Cellar, 04/03)
