2007 Maison Bouachon "La Tiare du Pape" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2007 Maison Bouachon "La Tiare du Pape" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (90ST, 90VN). Vinous: "(60% grenache, 30% syrah, 7% mourvedre and the rest counoise, terret noir, muscardin and vaccarese) Vivid ruby. Pungent aromas of dark berries, cherry and garrigue, with hints of smoke and licorice. Bitter cherry and blackcurrant flavors are lifted by juicy acidity and pick up dusty tannins with air. Finishes focused, spicy and impressively persistent, with echoes of smoke and dark fruits. This will be better with a few more years of bottle age. (JR)" (01/2010)

2001 Quintessa Rutherford Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Quintessa Rutherford Bordeaux Blend (92WE, 91ST, 91W&S). Wine Enthusiast: "Quite ripe and oaky, made in a big, impressive style. Knocks you out with the density and concentration of its black currant, dark chocolate and coffee flavors. Completely dry, and with a tart, espresso-like bitterness, this beauty is guaranteed to age, with its firm tannins. " (10/2004)

2010 San Giusto a Rentennano "Vin San Giusto" Bianco Passito (375ml)
Bid on this half-bottle of 2010 San Giusto a Rentennano "Vin San Giusto" Bianco Passito (375ml) (99RP, 98VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine is classified as an IGT Toscana because Chianti Classico appellation laws require that Vin Santo has at least 12% alcohol. The 2010 Vin San Giusto only has 9.5% alcohol instead. These means you can count on extra sweetness and sugary intensity, and that is exactly the intention here. The blend is 90% Malvasia and 10% Trebbiano, and it ages for six long years in small barrels (resting on 'mother' lees leftover from indigenous yeasts that have formed in previously used barrels and carried forward over the years). The wine pours from the bottle as if it were maple syrup, not wine. It shows super rich consistency that makes for slow and lazy movements as you swirl the glass. This wine is so absolutely singular it's hard to know how to score it, because it virtually has no equivalent. The bouquet shows hard candy, butterscotch, caramelized s

1998 Magdelaine, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Magdelaine, St-Emilion (95JG, 94VN, 92RP, 91WS). John Gilman: " The 1998 Château Magdelaine is a brilliant young wine and it seems very likely, at this early point in its development, that this vintage will ultimately rank as one of the greatest ever produced at this iconic estate. The bouquet is deep, pure and very elegant in profile, wafting from the glass in a nascently complex blend of black cherries, cassis, menthol, cigar smoke, Magdelaine’s inimitably complex soil tones and a touch of smoky new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with impeccable balance, fine-grained tannins, lovely acids and great purity and inherent elegance on the long and vibrant finish. This is still very early days for this great wine, but it will be magical at its apogee. (Drink between 2021-2060) 95+ points" (06/2016)

2016 McGah "Scarlett" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 McGah "Scarlett" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon (93VN, 92JS). Vinous: "Scarlett's 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is powerful, dense and full of flavor. Medium in body, persistent and nicely layered, the 2016 has a ton to offer. Dark cherry, plum, tobacco, cedar, earthiness and licorice give the wine striking aromatic nuance and dimensions of complexity. The Estate is a classic Rutherford Cabernet long on class and personality. Mike Smith has crafted a gorgeous Cabernet that captures the essence of this site, with an extra kick of raciness that works very nicely. (AG)" (12/2018)

1994 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94CG, 94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994s might be ready to drink within 10-15 years. It is hard to believe these wines spend 30 months in oak casks before bottling as they are incredibly unevolved and backward when released. The 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa reveals an opaque purple color, followed by a sweet, rich, black currant and creme de cassis-scented nose with no evidence of oak. This fruit bomb displays considerable breadth and expansiveness on the palate, in essence revealing only two dimensions - fruit and tannin. It is slightly softer and more precocious than the 1995 and 1996, so perhaps it will only need 10, rather than 15 years of cellaring. This immensely impressive Cabernet is a candidate for 20-30 years of cellaring. One of the issues about which Randy Dunn is sensitive is the fact that his wines are so remarkably consistent that it is often difficult to tell vintages apart. I think the vintag

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Shafer "TD-9" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95WE, 94RP, (91-94VN), 93JD). Wine Enthusiast: "The winery’s proprietary blend of 58% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Malbec is hugely impressive and memorable, with a smoky, toasted oak character. Plush flavors of blackberry and cherry jam meld with spice on the rich, round midpalate. It offers plenty of grip and concentration, finishing on a handful of dried herb. (VB)" (05/2019)

2014 Outpost Howell Mountain Grenache
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Outpost Howell Mountain Grenache (94RP, (90-92VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Grenache is a beauty. Aged 14 months in neutral oak, the wine has the classic strawberry and kirsch liqueur nose, with some lavender, pepper, and earthy, loamy soil. Its big, full-bodied, fleshy mouthfeel, with loads of glycerin, is classic Grenache texture, and this is a beauty of purity and depth, The 2014 looks to be the best they’ve made, although the 2015 reviewed a few paragraphs below should turn out to be nearly as fine. 2005 Domenico Clerico "Ciabot Mentin Ginestra" Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Domenico Clerico "Ciabot Mentin Ginestra" Barolo (96RP, 95ST, 95VN, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra emerges from the glass with endless layers of sweet spices, menthol, violets and dark fruit on a powerful, authoritative frame. This is a beautifully defined, sculpted wine of the very highest level. Tar, smoke and licorice linger on the finish. The tannins are massive at this stage, and the wine needs time, but the 2005 is undoubtedly one of the stars of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2030. (AG)" (04/2009)

2012 Brun Avril Chateauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Brun Avril Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The Avril family has been in Châteauneuf since the fourteenth century (15 generations and counting). Domaine Brun-Avril, however, was established in 2008 and is run by husband & wife team, Nathalie Brun and Jean-Jacques Brun. Their 5 hectares were part of an inheritance, one that changed the course of their lives. After deciding that they wanted to preserve the family's holdings, they studied viticulture. Despite being new winemakers, their style is old school. They only produce one wine per vintage and do everything they can to let the wine speak for itself.

Bid on this bottle of 1997 Paolo Scavino "Bric dël Fiasc" Barolo (95RP, 95WS, 92ST, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a well-known Castiglione Falletto vineyard, the 1997 Barolo Bric del Fiasc reveals the essence of cherry jam in its massive constitution. It is a powerful, full-bodied effort displaying pronounced black cherry liqueur-like aromas and flavors, huge extract and glycerin, and 14.5-15% alcohol. Remarkably pure, delineated, and balanced for a wine of such massiveness, it still needs another 2-3 years of cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2020. (RP)" (06/2001)
