Today, we've curated some remarkable opportunities from a red Burgundy vintage that keeps proving its mettle. Limited in quantity but generous in character, 2012 is a rare vintage that has a ton to offer in its youth, but will also reward in the long term. Stephen Tanzer calls it "a vintage that produced so many utterly compelling red Burgundies" while stating the wines "possess the concentration, balance and verve to evolve slowly and gracefully in bottle." Those searching out the unique magic that only Burgundy can offer should make sure they are deep in 2012s like these. Available exclusively in case quantity, these are a true collector’s delight.

2012 Alain Hudelot-Noellat Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots" 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) - 0 available ($1,125.00)

90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " A spicy and ripe yet cool and restrained nose features aromas of dark pinot fruit, red currant and an abundance of spice elements that include anise and sandalwood. There is an elegant mouth feel to the luscious and generously proportioned middle weight flavors that possess a velvety texture, all wrapped in a vibrant and beautifully complex finish. This is both deep and harmonious and should amply reward mid-term cellaring. *Outstanding*" (01/2014)

91 points Vinous: "Bright medium red. Ripe, alluring aromas and flavors of wild strawberry, raspberry and earth. Sweet, fine-grained and enveloping, showing lovely energy and density and still holding its fruit in reserve. Finishes fresh and firm-edged, with full, fine-grained tannins and excellent length. (ST)" (03/2015)

Jancis Robinson: "Beautiful scent -- the essence of Burgundy with violet, cherry, woodspice, mushroom and cinnamon. Excellent, and really delivers what the appellation is famed for -- perfume, elegance and power. 18/20 points. (RH)" (01/2014)

K&L Notes: PLEASE NOTE: This product is offered as a complete case in original packaging. If the wines are going to be shipped upon arrival, the bottles will be sent in pulp shippers to protect the bottles during shipping, with the empty case itself shipped separately on request. 2012 Bernard Dugat-Py Gevrey-Chambertin "Coeur de Roy - Vieilles Vignes" 12-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($1,975.00)

92-94 points Vinous: "Dugat-Py's 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Cur du Roy emerges from parcels ranging from 50-103 years of age. Dark cherry, plum, smoke, licorice and black olive are rich and explosive on the palate, The 2012 is endowed with stunning purity and depth. This is another huge Burgundy that is going to require at least a few years in bottle. (AG)" (01/2014)

90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Coeur de Roy comes from Bernard Dugats vines planted in 1910, raised in 60% new oak with 70% whole cluster fruit. It has a rather strict, taciturn bouquet at the moment, but the mineralite is tangible underneath and will flourish with bottle age. The palate is medium-bodied with fine acidity and abundant pure dark cherry and blueberry notes, segueing into a tense, wonderfully poised finish. This is very fine. (NM)" (12/2013)

90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A softly floral component adds a touch of elegance to the overtly sauvage dark berry fruit that also display notes of earth and humus. There is a lovely minerality that adds lift to the very rich and muscular medium weight plus flavors that deliver fine power and excellent length for a villages level wine. In a word, impressive." (01/2015)

2012 Bernard Dugat-Py Gevrey-Chambertin "Les Evocelles" 12-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($1,975.00)

91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles was cropped at 17hl/ha, contains 60% whole cluster fruit with around 60% new oak. It has a lovely, pure blackcurrant pastille and cassis fruit, the new oak nicely integrated here. The palate is very energetic on the entry. There is fine tension here, layers of ripe but tense black fruit with a sorbet-fresh, delineated finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is a superb Gevrey-Chambertin that should age for the next 10-15 years. (NM)" (12/2013)

91-93 points Vinous: "Dark red and blue fruit, smoke, tar, licorice and cloves wrap around the palate in the 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles. There is virtually no sensation of tannin, as the fruit is so rich and resonant. Layers of expressive dark fruit build to the effortless, voluptuous finish. (AG)" (01/2014)

89-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Once again there is a pronounced floral character to the cool and ultra-pure dark currant, earth and stone aromas. The intensely mineral-driven medium weight flavors possess excellent delineation on the palate coating and equally pure finish that is balanced, persistent and complex. This is worth considering as well." (01/2014)

K&L Notes: PLEASE NOTE: This product is offered as a complete case in original packaging. If the wines are going to be shipped upon arrival, the bottles will be sent in pulp shippers to protect the bottles during shipping, with the empty case itself shipped separately on request. Will Call or Local Delivery orders can be handled as intact cases. Please detail any special handling requests at checkout online, or call us with specific instructions.

2012 Bernard Dugat-Py Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru 3-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($2,125.00)

96-98 points Vinous: "A dark, exotic beauty, Dugat-Py's 2012Mazoyères-Chambertin is stunning. Graphite, grilled herbs, smoke, ash, game and black fruit flow across the palate in a powerful, explosive Burgundy endowed with marvelous complexity and pure personality. The flavors are vibrant throughout, conveying a sense of energy and vitality that is simply compelling. One of the standouts in this range, the 2012 Mazoyères is shaping up to be truly special. (AG)" (01/2014)

95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Mazoyeres-Chambertin Grand Cru comes from vines just 60-metres distant from the Charmes-Chambertin, and this blend includes around 90% whole cluster fruit. It has a superb bouquet, the mineral core penetrating the carapace of dark cherry, blackberry and wild strawberry fruit that is beautifully defined, seductive and pure. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, slightly chalky tannins. This has very good backbone, rendering the finish quite stern and aloof, but it will age with consummate style. There are just 2½ barrels this year. (NM)" (12/2013)

93-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is a bit riper than the Charmes with its black fruit liqueur-like aromas that also display plenty of floral, earth and underbrush characters. There is superb size, weight and overt power to the broad-shouldered flavors that brim with structure-buffering extract, all wrapped in an intensely mineral-driven, sauvage and hugely long finish. This is a big wine and a classic Mazoyères though note that an abundance of patience will be required." (01/2014)

K&L Notes: PLEASE NOTE: This product is offered as a complete case in original packaging. If the wines are going to be shipped upon arrival, the bottles will be sent in pulp shippers to protect the bottles during shipping, with the empty case itself shipped separately on request. 2012 Bernard Dugat-Py Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($3,450.00)

93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is raised entirely in new oak and includes less whole cluster in order to retain the femininity of the cru. It has a well-defined, mineral rich bouquet that remains tight at the moment, refusing to acquiesce in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine, quite succulent tannins, good acidity, a gentle grip and impressive build towards the structured blackberry and blueberry-driven finish. Very good tension here and in synch with the fruit, this Charmes-Chambertin should age well over the next 20 years. (NM)" (12/2013)

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A restrained and wonderfully aromatically complex nose displays intensely floral elements, cassis, black cherry and humus along with plenty of that Gevrey sauvage character. There is excellent phenolic maturity to the supporting structure that is already well-integrated on the extract-rich, round and delicious flavors. While there is a relatively refined mouth feel, there is also good muscle and power on the gorgeously long and serious finish. This beautifully well-balanced effort will also require lots of patience." (01/2015)

93 points Vinous: "Deep, bright ruby-red. Boysenberry and blackberry aromas show an almost confectionery quality. At once thick and lively on the attack, then harmonious and round in the middle, with intense dark berry flavors accompanied by strong torrefaction notes of licorice, smoke and bitter chocolate. Finishes very long but tight, with tannins a bit less refined than those of the 2013 version. Like the Petite Chapelle, there's little in the way of easy sweetness here but this very young wine should gain in complexity and pliancy with extended bottle age. 93+ (ST)" (03/2015)

2012 Chanson Pere et Fils Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) - 0 available ($1,025.00)

92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An elegant array blends both upper and lower register aromas of airy red and dark berry fruit with distinct earth, humus and underbrush scents. There is a relatively refined mouth feel to the suave and seductively textured middle weight plus flavors that are opulent and concentrated before terminating in a well-balanced and serious finish that displays outstanding depth and length. This firmly structured effort will need plenty of cellar time to arrive at its majority." (04/2014)

2012 Chateau de la Tour Clos Vougeot Grand Cru "Vieilles Vignes" 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($1,400.00)

95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the nose is similar to the regular cuvée from a compositional standpoint but the fruit is denser, slightly riper and more complex as well. The very concentrated broad-shouldered flavors possess excellent concentration as the copious dry extract both coats the palate and buffers the extremely firm tannic spine on the explosively long but impeccably well-balanced finish. This is distinctly old school in style and will require extended cellaring to arrive at its peak. I would not recommend buying this ultra-serious effort unless you have the express intention of cellaring it over the longer-term." (01/2015)

93 points Vinous: "Bright, dark red. Tight on the nose, with black cherry, mineral and mocha flavors lifted by nuances of pepper and flowers. Very sweet and deep but reserved; even less accessible than the cuvée classique but showing terrific clarity of fruit. Best today on the very long, savory back end, which features suave tannins and pepper and saline elements. (ST) 93+" (03/2015)

2012 David Duband Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($1,600.00)

93-95 points Vinous: "The 2012 Latricières-Chambertin opens with an exquisite and exotic bouquet. White pepper, orange peel, rosewater, mint, red fruit and sweet spices are intensely alive in the glass. This is a decidedly bright, floral Latricières endowed with superb pliancy, resonance and persistence. David Duband has done a great job with his Latricières. (AG)" (01/2014)

91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A distinctly cool and ultra-restrained nose of airy floral, wet stone, humus and various red berry scents introduces broad-shouldered and intense but not massive flavors that possess terrific delineation and underlying tension. I really like the focused yet generous mid-palate that firms up substantially on the understated and mineral-driven finish that displays a bit of austerity but less than say the Clos del la Roche. In sum this is a classic Latricières that combines good power with finesse." (04/2014)

2012 Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots" 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($1,675.00)

93 points Vinous: "Good deep red. Fresher and more minerally on the nose than the Reignots, offering dark aromas of blackberry, cassis, licorice and violet. Densely packed, silky and suave, showing captivating sweetness and roundness to its dark raspberry, spice and mineral flavors. Comes across as a bit heavier than the 2013 version, and less perfumed, but this harmonious, very concentrated wine (the crop level here was under 20 hectoliters per hectare, according to Pascal Lachaux) boasts excellent medicinal reserve. (ST)" (03/2015)

2012 Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Le Corton Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) - 0 available ($750.00)

93 points Vinous: "Medium red, a bit pale at the rim. Soil-inflected aromas of red fruits, potpourri spices, minerals, flowers and truffle. Plush, rich and fine-grained, showing terrific volume and breadth and a restrained sweetness to the flavors of red fruits, smoke and earth. This seamless, stylish wine boasts strong soil tones and an inviting, very smooth finish. A beauty--and perhaps deceptively accessible today. (ST)" (03/2015)

90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Le Corton Grand Cru comes from 2.4 hectares of vine on chalky soils. It has a very attractive bouquet with abundant red cherry and wild strawberry scents that are very well-defined. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, velvety smooth in the mouth with pure redcurrant and strawberry fruit. The oak is a little conspicuous at the moment (around 35% new) but it is very well assimilated on the finish. This is a well-crafted Corton. (NM)" (02/2014)

91 points Wine Spectator: "Ripe, rich and spicy, this red is intensely flavored, featuring wild cherry and strawberry fruit, with anise, sandalwood and mineral notes. Sleek, yet almost chewy, with lingering spice accents. (BS)" (04/2015)

K&L Notes: PLEASE NOTE: This product is offered as a complete case in original packaging. 2012 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) - 0 available ($1,450.00)

94-96 points Vinous: "The 2012 Clos de La Roche is beautifully nuanced and layered from start to finish. Graphite, plum, blackberry jam, chalk and violets are some of the many notes that grace this utterly impeccable wine. Gorgeous, expressive aromatics are woven throughout, heightening the impression of total finesse. The 2012 is shaping up to be a beauty, but it naturally needs time. (AG)" (01/2014)

95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(Landanger's holding is in the middle of the cru): Medium-deep red. Ripe black raspberry, smoky minerality, mocha and animal fur on the inviting nose. Plush, sweet and horizontal; wonderfully rich, broad, palate-coating flavors of minerals, smoke, chocolate and savory brown spices. A voluptuous, varietally expressive Clos de la Roche with noble tannins, great sappy energy and outstanding echoing length. (ST)" (03/2015)

2012 Domaine de la Vougeraie Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) - 0 available ($775.00)

93-95 points Vinous: "The 2012 Clos de Vougeot is deep, dense, powerful and earthy. Here, it is the wine's pure depth and resonance that stand out. I imagine the 2012 will start to drink beautifully in a handful of years, once the tannins start to soften a bit. (AG)" (01/2014)

91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru comes from the estates two parcels and includes 50% whole cluster fruit. It has a lifted bouquet with touches of dried rose petals infusing the red berry fruit with fine delineation. The palate is very composed with a lithe, fleshy opening married with crisp acidity and a solid, quite dense finish that suggests this should age well. Very fine. (NM)" (12/2013)

90-93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good dark red. Ripe but subdued aromas of black cherry, game and chocolate; slightly high-toned (the pH here is a relatively high 3.7). Large-scaled, broad and ripe but with a nicely restrained sweetness to the flavors of cherry liqueur, rose petal and lavender. Finishes more savory and less fruity than the Clos du Roi, with good medicinal reserve and substantial dusty tannins. Very good potential here but tricky to taste today." (01/2014)

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is notably fresher than the Clos du Roi with its pretty aromas of earth, game, dried flowers and assorted red berry scents. There is a pungently earthy character to the broad-shouldered, intense and muscular flavors that are shaped by relatively fine-grained tannins before concluding in a powerful and persistent if not especially complex finish. This isn't as powerful or dramatic as the Clos du Roi though I prefer the balance and overall sense of completeness." (01/2015)

2012 Domaine du Clos Frantin (Albert Bichot) Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Malconsorts" 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($825.00)

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Vosne Romanée 1er Cru Les Malconsorts from Domaine du Clos Frantin was not the only wine from this Beaune stalwart that far exceeded expectations. Here, it has a pure nose with perfumed dark cherry and blueberry fruit, the oak here well integrated whilst maintaining fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannin, well judged acidity, tensile with a finish that fans out gloriously. This is a superb, animated, energetic Vosne-Romanée that is an absolute delight. (NM)" (10/2015)

92 points James Suckling: "A floral and fruity wine with lemon and fine tannins. Full-bodied, tight and beautiful. Focused and silky. From organically grown grapes." (06/2015)

91 points Wine Spectator: "Austere, with pure cherry at the core, which may take a few years to emerge. Mineral, spice and light underbrush notes add depth, and this firms up on the long finish. (BS, Web-2016)"

Jancis Robinson: "Deep cherry red. Sweet and oaky on the nose but dark not red fruit. Really quite oaky now. Spiced dark fruit. Inside the cloak of oak, fine dark fruit, harmony of freshness and firm but fine tannins. A well-proportioned whole. Mouthwateringly juicy on the finish. (JH)" (12/2013)

2012 Domaine Dujac Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Aux Malconsorts" 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($3,450.00)

94-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts has a sophisticated, mineral-driven bouquet with great clarity, less fruite and more restrained than the Beaux Monts but with greater focus. The palate is medium-bodied with a real candied, bonbon element, a core a sweetness that lends this real personality and wonderful poise on the finish. Lovely. (NM)" (12/2013)

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Outstanding, Don't Miss!* Reduction. This is completely different from the Beaux Monts, particularly in terms of size and weight as there is real muscle to the impressively concentrated and ripe medium-bodied plus flavors that culminate in a hugely long finish that coats the palate with dry extract. The supporting tannins are also markedly firmer and it's clear that this will require around 15 years to completely realize its full, and considerable, potential yet it should be approachable after 10 years or so. In a word, impressive." (01/2014)

94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium red. Captivating floral lift to the aromas of raspberry, minerals and truffle. Dense, sweet and utterly seamless, communicating a powerful impression of truffley soil tones but also plenty of high-pitched floral and mineral perfume. Boasts bulletproof fruit and yet this wine is perfectly harmonious today. The palate-staining finish leaves the taste buds humming. A brilliant example of its vintage." (03/2015)

94 points Vinous: "The 2012 Vosne-Romanée Aux Malconsorts is shaping up to be a real beauty. Dark, sensual and expressive, the 2012 is wonderfully open today, which is quite surprising. As always, Malconsorts is defined by a textural feel of nearly indescribable finesse. There is plenty of that in the 2012. (AG)" (04/2015)

Jancis Robinson: "Racy and sappy and polished. Very sophisticated. Really rather gorgeous. Long and fresh." (12/2013)

K&L Notes: PLEASE NOTE: This product is offered as a complete case in original packaging. 2012 Domaine Faiveley Echézeaux Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) - 0 available ($995.00)

91-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(from a warm southern exposure in the lieu-dit Combe d'Orveaux; aging in two-thirds new oak): Medium red. Aromas of red cherry, cinnamon and earth. Silky, suave and sweet, with a slightly candied quality to the cherry, spice and mint flavors. Savory, stylish Echezeaux with a long, saline, soil-driven finish. This very ripe wine will nonetheless require four or five years of cellaring to absorb some of its tannins." (01/2014)

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is also exuberantly fresh if quite restrained with a lovely spice character to the primarily red currant suffused nose. I very much like the complexity of the seductively textured medium weight flavors that brim with dry extract on the racy, intense and balanced finish. This refined effort will also need at least a decade before it will be able to realize its considerable potential" (01/2014)

2012 Domaine Faiveley Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($1,800.00)

93-96 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Don't Miss* A spicy, fresh and highly restrained nose offers up aromas of both red and dark berry fruit, earth, sandalwood and a touch of the sauvage. There is the same fine complexity to the detailed, punchy, powerful and gorgeously textured flavors that possess imposing size and weight yet the finish is a model of grace, balance and refinement. This is not particularly austere but it is going to require extended cellaring before it is ready so I would advise buying this only if you have the patience to cellar it for at least 12 years and more would be better." (01/2014)

95 points Vinous: "Bright medium red. Multidimensional nose offers scents of raspberry, cherry, exotic spices, rose petal and dried flowers. Compellingly chewy and sappy on the palate yet somehow silky too, showing outstanding energy and lift to its lightly saline flavors of dark fruits, blood orange, minerals and licorice. Finishes with a serious tannic spine and terrific lift and length. A complete young grand cru Burgundy with extract to burn. (ST) 95+" (03/2015)

2012 Domaine Bouchard Pere et Fils Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($1,200.00)

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Bouchard often does quite well with this appellation and so it is again in 2012 as there is fine complexity to the brooding nose that is less spicy than the Ech but earthier with game and underbrush nuances to the dark berry fruit aromas. There is excellent volume and focused power to the broad-shouldered, intense and concentrated flavors that possess an abundance of palate coating dry extract, all wrapped in a firm, serious, persistent and moderately austere finale. This will not be a good candidate for early consumption, indeed it will require plenty of cellar time." (04/2014)

92-94 points Vinous: "(from estate vines planted in 1978 and 1956; a blend of the top and bottom of the cru): Bright, dark red. Pungent stony minerality and black cherry on the rather cool nose. Then dense, sappy and sweet, showing a very fine-grained texture and terrific inner-mouth lift. This pliant, deep wine really saturates the palate on the long aftertaste, with the tannins thoroughly buffered by fruit. Just four barrels produced, vs. a permitted ten." (01/2014)

2012 Domaine Fourrier Vougeot 1er Cru "Les Petits Vougeots" Vieille Vigne 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($1,125.00)

90-92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium red. High-toned aromas of candied red raspberry, cherry and flowers, along with a minty high note that carries through onto the palate. Juicy, sappy and very fresh, with enticing flavors of exotic fruits and flowers. A bit less dense than Fourrier's village wines from Gevrey-Chambertin, and showing more evidence of oak spices today. (ST)" (01/2014)

89-91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are just two barrels of the 2012 Vougeot 1er Cru Petit Vougeot this year. It has a very attractive, mineral-laced bouquet that is well defined and a little more masculine than the other crus from Jean-Marie Fourrier. The palate is medium-bodied with fine and quite tensile tannins, good backbone with a fresh chalky finish. This is very fine shame theres so little! I tasted just two of Jean-Maries negociant wines that are worth a look (the portfolio is expanding and Jean-Marie will get his mits on some Chambertin Clos de Beze in 2014.) (NM)" (12/2013)

2012 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Cherbaudes" Vieille Vigne 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($1,450.00)

91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cherbaudes comes from 0.67-hectares of vines planted in 1940. It has a very attractive bouquet with fresh raspberry, Tiptree strawberry jam, light bergamot scents and great delineation. The palate is smooth and silky. This is a more opulent take on the 2012 from Jean-Marie Fourrier, but still well defined with a harmonious, seductive finish adorned with a tang of marmalade on the aftertaste. (NM)" (12/2013)

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Very ripe but lively aromas of raspberry and sexy smoky oak. Rich, supple and sweet, with a positive high-toned quality to its plush flavors of raspberry and saline minerality. Serious tannins will need at least a few years to integrate with the wine's fruit but this premier cru already boasts considerable sex appeal. (ST)" (03/2015)

90-92 points Vinous: "The 2012 Gevrey Chambertin Cherbaudes is deep, juicy and expressive. Sweet spices, tobacco and an array of blue/blackish fruit flesh out in a juicy, beautifully expressive wine with considerable early and medium term appeal. This is one of the most polished wines in the range, and is likely to drink well with minimum cellaring. (AG)" (01/2014)

90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Moderate reduction dominates the nose at present but the cool, reserved and understated medium-bodied flavors possess excellent detail as well as fine richness on the lightly mineral-driven finish. This exudes a fine balance and while the flavor profile is very Gevrey, there is no underlying rusticity. *Outstanding*" (01/2011)

Jancis Robinson: "Close to Clos de Bèze. Bright cherry red. Smooth, seductive, so so fruity nose. Very rich indeed and seductive. Beautifully polished. Really very glorious. Cool and fresh on the end. Hint of violets. 17.5/20 points." (12/2013)

2012 Domaine J. Roty Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru "Très Vielles Vignes" 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($2,700.00)

93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Charmes-Chambertin Tres Vieilles Vignes has a deep garnet color. The nose is dominated by the new oak at the moment so it is difficult to ascertain the fruit profile. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy, well-delineated opening. There is a spicy tincture here, almost as if someone had put a touch of chili oil into the vat! Great tension and vivacity here, the finish has the concentration to suggest that is will subsume that oak in time, but you need to wait around 10-15 years. (NM)" (12/2013)

94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Dark red. Highly complex aromas of raspberry, strawberry, redcurrant blueberry, iron and dried flowers. Sappy on entry, then quite backward in the middle palate despite hinting at superripeness, with a crunchy blueberry flavor joined on the end by almost medicinal notes of red licorice and menthol. With its chewy, mouth-saturating tannins, this is almost austere today. But the extremely long, dry finish leaves the mouth vibrating. As in most successful vintages, this wine is likely to enjoy a long evolution in bottle." (03/2015)

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " A dense and serious nose displays notes of wood toast, black cherry, spice, earth, game and once again plenty of sauvage character. The toast is also present on the broad-shouldered middle weight plus flavors that abound with palate coating dry extract that also serves to buffer the markedly firm tannic spine on the powerful but not rustic finish where a mild hint of warmth is discernible. This is also noticeably muscular and will likewise require an extended stay in a cool cellar." (01/2015)

2012 Domaine Jean Grivot Clos Vougeot 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) - 0 available ($1,550.00)

96 points Wine Enthusiast: " *Cellar Selection* This offers a firm, dense structure, with dark tannins and big, ripe, opulent fruits. At the same time the elegance that is the hallmark of the domaine is equally present, stylish red fruits and a velvet texture. The wine needs to age to be at its peak, although it is beautiful now. Drink from 2020." (12/2015)

92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A cool, restrained and unusually elegant nose combines various red berries with notes of dried flowers, freshly turned earth and sandalwood. There is excellent volume and intensity to the focused, intense and quite powerful medium weight plus flavors that culminate in a driving, even explosive finish that coats the mouth and lingers for an impressively long time. I very much like the harmony of elements though note that this is unlikely to be an early drinker." (01/2014)

2012 Domaine Joseph Drouhin Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) - 0 available ($2,300.00)

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Don't Miss!* Very mild reduction can't completely suppress the beautifully elegant aromas of red currant, floral, spice and pungent earth aromas. There is a really lovely mouth feel to the equally mineral-driven and wonderfully refined medium-bodied flavors that possess terrific energy on the saline-inflected, balanced and superbly long finish. This harmonious effort is remarkably complex for such a young wine though note that the supporting tannins, while fine, are quite firm and this is going to require a lengthy stay in a cool cellar." (04/2014)

92-95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Full medium red. Reduced, musky aromas of red raspberry, dark chocolate and smoked meat. Dense and saline; a step up in freshness and concentration from the Clos de Beze, showing the vintage's fine grain and salty minerality in spades. Still reduced but already dynamic. The smoky reduction reappears on the very long finish. The crop level here was down 70% from the level of 2009, according to Frederic Drouhin." (01/2014)

93-95 points Vinous: "A sensual, beautifully lifted and aromatically expressive Burgundy, the 2012 Griotte-Chambertin wraps around the palate with pure finesse. Sweet rose petals, hard candy, mint and wild flowers flesh out in the glass, supported by fine, silky tannins and a gorgeous sense of balance. This is classic Griotte in its pure sensuality and grace. (AG)" (01/2014)

92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru was picked on September 24 and includes 15% whole cluster fruit. Bright in color, it has a lively bouquet (despite a touch of reduction on this sample), laden with bright red cherries, blueberry and wild strawberry, plus a hint of sea spray emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, offering a smooth silky texture that is deceptive, since the finish suggests much better backbone and density than the Clos-de-Beze. Excellent. (NM)" (12/2013)

2012 Domaine Louis Jadot Corton-Greves Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($700.00)

91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A generous application of wood sets off the pungent menthol, cassis, game and freshly crushed herb aromas. There is outstanding complexity and plenty of size, weight and power to the broad-shouldered flavors that display plenty of palate and tannin-buffering dry extract on the superbly persistent finish." (04/2014)

92-94 points Vinous: "The 2012 Corton Greves wraps around the palate with gorgeous depth and pure power. Rich and seamless to the core, the 2012 boasts tremendous intensity. Dark red fruit, smoke, iron and blood orange meld into higher-tones of floral notes on the finish that add an attractive upper register. The low yields of the year have given the Greves softer contours than is typically the case. Next to the Pougers, the Greves is silky, feminine and gracious.(AG)" (12/2014)

91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Corton-Greves Grand Cru has a floral, feminine bouquet with pretty iodine-tinged black and red berry fruit that are graceful and defined. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy entry, well judged acidity and builds towards a convincing, ripe blackcurrant and boysenberry finish that demonstrates fine tension. Excellent. (NM)" (12/2013)

2012 Domaine Louis Jadot Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($1,295.00)

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Chapelle Chambertin Grand Cru from Louis Jadot has a very perfumed and floral nose with dried violet petals infusing the mixture or red and black fruit. This gains intensity in the glass, hints of winegum developing with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and well judged acidity, the oak beautifully interwoven. It is still very backward, more so than the say Cécile Tremblay's Chapelle-Chambertin, but there is a pleasing sense of tension and race on the long, truffle tinged finish that has just the right amount of bitterness. This could be a wine that will continue to improve, the longer it is left in bottle. Do not underestimate this exemplary Grand Cru. (NM)" (10/2015)

93-95 points Vinous: "The 2012 Chapelle-Chambertin bursts from the glass with dark cherry, plum, spice, menthol and new leather. Rich and enveloping, the 2012 is one of the more sensual, voluptuous wines in this range. Accordingly, the 2012 should be cellared for at least a few years to allow for some of the baby fat to drop off. Today, it is the wine's inner perfume, silky personality and exceptional balance that impress most. There is plenty of promise here. (AG)" (01/2014)

94 points Wine Spectator: "Graphite and sanguine aromas give way to cherry and raspberry flavors in this intense red. Firm, with the oak matched to the fleshy texture. A bit rustic and closed in the end now, but shows fine potential. Best from 2018 through 2030." (04/2015)

94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Raspberry and mineral aromas show hints of very ripe fruit. Dense, lush and sweet, conveying a wonderfully smooth grain to the red berry, spice and graphite flavors. The wine's firm tannins are almost hidden today by its velvety texture. Very long and vibrant on the aftertaste. (ST)" (03/2015)

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A moderately oaked nose still displays a discreet but not invisible menthol character on the aromas of earth, underbrush and humus that add breadth to the fresh and ripe red and dark currant aromas. The mouth feel of the mid-palate is unusually supple and relatively forward as the substantially scaled flavors display plenty of minerality on the gorgeously long finish that turns austere, serious and firmly structured and that presently displays just a hint of bitterness that I suspect is attributable to the wood treatment. My sense is that it won't last because the supporting material is first-rate though do note that this is going to require plenty of cellar time to resolve the supporting tannins." (04/2015)

Jancis Robinson: "Heady, rich and sweet with lots of ripe fruit and seduction. Gorgeous! Maybe not for the very long term but gather ye rosebuds while ye may. Such charm! Long. (18/20 points)" (11/2013)

2012 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs" (1.5L) (Pre-Arrival) ($625.00)

95 points Vinous: "(production here was just 9.5 hectoliters per hectare, according to Duvivier): Healthy dark red. Deep, soil-driven aromas of black cherry, mocha, coffee and truffley underbrush are lifted by a subtle floral topnote. Intensely flavored and creamy, but with a firm spine of minerality giving the wine grip and keeping it light on its feet. This wonderfully sweet Volnay has buns of steel. Finishes with uncanny length and lift. This potentially great wine was bottled mostly in numbered magnums and should be a real collector's item, not to mention very long-lived." (03/2015)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Ducs offers possibly the most intriguing bouquet this year. It certainly has the most complexity with nuanced dark cherry, cranberry leaf, raspberry and cold stone scents that initially seem a little austere but open nicely with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins. The oak is a little more conspicuous at this moment, although that will be subsumed with time. The finish is composed and contains an attractive white pepper, almost white fennel-like note that is sustained throughout the aftertaste. Very fine. Drink 2016-2030. (NM)" (06/2014)

Jancis Robinson: "Lustrous ruby. Very shaded colour and very rich ripe aroma. Absolutely attention-grabbing Guillaume dAngerville thinks unrepresentative of Clos des Ducs with fine tannins just pushing in under a comfort blanket of richness and super-ripe bitter-cherry fruit. Very glamorous and gorgeous. Super-clean on the finish with just a little hint of asperity. Firm and upright. 18.5/20 points. (JR)" (04/2019)

2012 Domaine Robert Groffier Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 12-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($5,400.00)

95 points Vinous: "Dark, bright red. Knockout nose combines sappy red and darker berries, mocha and underbrush, complemented by sexy sweet oak and lifted by a rose petal perfume. Pure crunchy cranberry and pomegranate fruit flavors convey an almost painful urgency, thanks to the energy provided by the whole-cluster fermentation. Chewy, deep and very backward wine, finishing with a distinctly savory character and a peppery quality from the stems. Exciting potential here. (ST) 95+" (03/2015)

2012 Domaine Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Sentiers" 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($975.00)

91 points Vinous: "(50% vendange entier): Good deep red. Ripe aromas of small wild red fruits, mocha and brown spices, plus a note of menthol; deeper-pitched than the Haut-Doix. Then big, ripe and rich but fine-grained, with savory red fruit flavors complicated by spices and torrefaction. Finishes youthful, broad and long. Nicolas Groffier noted that his family used to vinify Sentiers for power, "like our Amoureuses," but that he has cut back on extraction. Still, this is a strong wine in 2012. 91+ (ST)" (03/2015)

2012 Domaine Tortochot Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 12-Pack (Pre-Arrival) - 0 available ($1,250.00)

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A pretty and more expressive nose features elegant aromas of assorted red berries, newly turned earth and a lovely floral note, all of which is trimmed in a whisper of oak. There is excellent volume and plenty of punch to the mouth coating and intense medium weight plus flavors that possess plenty of dry extract that coats the palate and imparts a seductive, even silky texture to the balanced, complex and lingering finish. A Charmes of refinement but should drink well both young and old." (01/2015)

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru comes from 41-year-old vines. It has an attractive, open-knit bouquet that veers toward a more terroir-driven profile than a more typical fruit-driven one: tart cherries rapidly given way to woodland, autumnal scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and poise. While it does not quite possess the persistency of the Mazis-Chambertin, it is nicely focused and poised. If seeking a more understated Charmes-Chambertin and you are unable to forage one from Denis Bachelet (join the club), then do consider this as an alternative. Drink 2015-2025+ (NM)" (02/2014)

2012 Domanie Michel Magnien Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) - 0 available ($1,000.00)

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A beautifully well-layered nose offers notes of red currant, rose petal, smoked meat and spice nuances. There is a highly seductive texture to the broad-shouldered flavors that possess excellent volume and plenty of mouth coating extract that buffers well the moderately firm tannic spine on the powerful and lingering finish. At present there is very good but not truly elite depth though more will undoubtedly develop." (01/2014)

92 points Vinous: "Healthy medium red. Soil-driven aromas of mocha, brown spices, rose petal, fresh herbs and mint. Distinctly less fruity in the early going than the Charmes, displaying serious medicinal reserve and strong saline minerality. Finishes minty and tight, with little in the way of easy sweetness. This was much more tangy from barrel in November of 2013 and will require extended aging. 92+ (ST)" (03/2015)

2012 Domaine Louis Jadot Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($1,295.00)

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Don't miss!* Generous if not dominant wood serve as a not-so-subtle backdrop to the intensely sauvage and spicy red currant, cassis, plum and pungently earth aromas. The attractively textured and mouth coating large-scaled flavors enjoy copious amounts of palate coating and tannin-buffering dry extract along with plenty of minerality that adds lift to the imposingly structured finish. This massive effort is very definitely old school and there will be no point in opening this before at least a decade of aging has occurred." (04/2014)

2012 Domaine Louis Jadot Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($1,150.00)

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A pungently earthy nose also offers supporting aromas of gentle wood, spice and both red and dark fruit components. There is excellent richness and body to the large-scaled, mineral-inflected and openly powerful flavors that possess plenty of tannin-buffering dry extract before terminating in a striking long finish. This is a robust and very serious effort that possesses excellent cellaring potential and note well that it will need it as this is presently a bruiser." (04/2015)

93 points Vinous: "Moderately saturated medium red. Highly aromatic nose combines raspberry, strawberry, clove oil, dried flowers, smoked meat and pungent minerality. Silky, dense and fine-grained, with a high percentage of whole-cluster fermentation energizing the middle palate and giving this very complex Clos de la Roche lovely perfume and early sex appeal. But this is built for a graceful evolution in bottle. (ST)" (03/2015)

2012 Lucien Le Moine Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (1.5L) 3-Pack (Pre-Arrival) - 0 available ($1,350.00)

93-95 points Vinous: "The 2012 Clos de Vougeot is superb and sensual, its contours softened by the rich, naturally low-yielding vintage, which gives a level of pliancy and suppleness that is highly unusual for this wine. Sweet red berries, crushed rocks and high-toned floral nuances meld together beautifully. The expressive, layered finish is simply striking. Proprietor Mounir Saouma blends three barrels from different sources within the Clos for this wine. (AG)" (01/2014)

92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "In much the same vein as the Clos de la Roche I would describe this as relatively elegant as well with its exceptionally pretty and lightly spiced nose of various red berry fruit aromas that enjoy added breadth from the presence of floral, spice and earth scents. There is enough wood influence to notice on the comparatively supple and rounded medium-bodied flavors that tighten up quickly on the firm, balanced, complex and attractively textured finish." (04/2014)

92-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(Saouma has three barrels, from three sources and three altitudes within the cru): Medium red. Musky aromas of warm brown spices, game and earth. Sweet, saline and soil-driven, with a distinctly musky quality to the redcurrant and animal flavors. Finishes with fine-grained, building tannins and noteworthy finesse. Like the Malconsorts, this is more about earth tones than primary fruit; perhaps a bit less deep than that wine but sweeter in the early going." (01/2014)

2012 Maison Roche de Bellene Chambertin Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($1,850.00)

94-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Chambertin Grand Cru is noticeably deep in color. The nose is very perfumed and floral with dark cherries, bergamot, violets and a touch of incense. The oak is very well integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied with a candied entry: succulent, almost effervescent red fruit with touches of blood orange on the long finish. Superb. (NM)" (12/2013)

92-95 points Vinous: "(two suppliers, two barrels; 50% vendange entier): Bright red-ruby. Cooler and much more reticent on the nose than the Clos de Beze, showing a peppery topnote to the aromas of black cherry, licorice, minerals and violet. Tightly wound and vibrant, with terrific energy and cut but little early sweetness to the peppery dark fruit flavors. This youthfully imploded wine finishes with firm tannic spine and echoing peppery persistence. The stem element is a bit dominant today. (ST)" (01/2014)

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A pungent nose of menthol and oak influence presently dominate the otherwise cool red currant, plum and floral scents. There is outstanding concentration and intensity to the more mineral-inflected, bigger and more muscular flavors that possess a velvety mouth feel on the beautifully long and well-structured finish. This is very Chambertin and while there is more size and weight compared to the Bèze, the palate impression is less fine. A qualitative choice." (04/2014)

2012 Marchand-Tawse Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Perrieres" 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($375.00)

90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A cool and restrained nose offers up notes of ultra-pure red currant and wet stone nuances where the latter element also characterizes the delicious and refined middle weight flavors that possess a lush mouth feel, all wrapped in a wonderfully complex, balanced and long finish. This is really lovely juice." (01/2014)

89-92 points Vinous: "(vinified with less than 10% whole clusters): Good medium red. Redcurrant, red cherry, rust and crushed stone on the nose. Fresh and youthfully imploded, showing very good definition to its red fruit and mineral flavors. Finishes with noteworthy energy and echoing length. Clearly picked earlier than many of the other 2012s here. (ST)" (01/2014)

2012 Roche de Bellene Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($725.00)

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A cool and restrained nose offers up notes of red currant, pungent earth and sauvage hints where there are background touches of dried flowers. In the same fashion as the Bonnes Mares this possesses excellent size, weight and punch with a subtle minerality that continues on to the firm, austere and lingering finish. This is a big Chapelle that will need plenty of time to resolve the tannins." (04/2014)

2012 Taupenot-Merme Morey-St-Denis 1er Cru "La Riotte" 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) ($575.00)

92 points John Gilman: "The Taupenot parcel in the premier cru of la Riotte is also not young vines, as these are now more than fifty-five years of age. This is very transparent and refined in 2012, delivering a superb nose of red and black cherries, espresso, woodsmoke, gamebirds, a touch of chicory, dark soil tones and a touch of cedary oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and tightly-knit, with a fine core of fruit, firm, ripe tannins and a long, primary and focused finish that closes with a bit of youthful herbacité today. This will be lovely wine, but give it some time to blossom. (Drink between 2020-2055)" (06/2014)

92 points Vinous: "The 2012 Morey-Saint-Denis La Riotte 1er Cru has tasted well in the past. This felt a little closed on the nose and Roman Taupenot himself suggested that it might be amidst a closed phase. The palate is sweet and ripe and certainly more open for business: vibrant raspberry and cranberry fruit, black pepper, clove and cedar towards a nicely structured finish. Give this another year in bottle because it just needs time to flower. Tasted at Flint Wines Taupenot-Merme retrospective. (NM)" (03/2019)

92 points Wine Spectator: "Succulent acidity makes this red enticing and heightens the cherry, strawberry, spice and mint flavors. Shows intensity, despite its elegance, with a chalky, stony feel on the finish, but needs time. Best after 2019. (BS, Web Only-2015)"

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Morey Saint Denis 1er Cru Les Riottes is a little introverted on the nose after bottling, but the palate certainly reaffirms the potential that it showed in barrel with superb structure and a bold finish that fans out across the mouth. With good persistency, I can see this aging wonderfully over the next decade. Drink 2015-2022+. (NM)" (06/2014)

90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the expressive nose is a bit more deeply pitched as it offers up a pretty mix of blue and black pinot fruit, earth and a hint of underbrush. On the palate this is also quite lush and very round with equally good volume and concentration, all wrapped in a dusty, mouth coating and balanced finish. This should also be approachable and enjoyable young yet reward up to a decade of cellar time." (01/2015)

Jancis Robinson: "Deep bright crimson. Fascinating nose wth sumptous fruit and lovely balance. Red fruit flavours and great confidence. 17/20 points. (JR)" (12/2013)
