Thanks to an increase in the number of high quality Lambruscos being imported of late, the demand for this classic frizzante wine has risen substantially. Since we have several outstanding dry versions in stock, we added this delightful off-dry one to our cellar. It's fairly concentrated with sweet blackberry and black cherry flavors and a pleasant effervescence that livens the palate. This is especially good with spicier and saltier dishes or simply on its own.

The arrival of the spring months means, among other things, picnics and cookouts with generous platters of cold cuts, barbecued chicken, grilled vegetables, and a host of other marvels. What to drink with it all? Lambrusco! This one is one of my personal favorite. The purple froth on this is really amazing to watch rise in your glass. The intense perfume on the nose and the palate has lots cinnamon and clove spice. Black cherries, red currants and a hint of dustiness add to its complexity on the palate, give it a light chill and pour yourself a big glass.

A wonderfully expressive nose of dark fruits and hints of clove; on the palate this wine isn't sweet at all but just a little broader and richer than other "dry" Lambrusco; the bubbles make it feel drier. THE perfect accompaniment to your pizza or barbecue chicken.
Drink from 2018 to 2019

Modern Italy, which didn't actually exist as a country until the 1870s, once produced mainly simple, everyday wine. It wasn't until the 1970s that Italy began the change toward quality. The 1980s showed incredible efforts and a lot of experimentation. The 1990s marked the real jump in consistent quality, including excellence in many Region that had been indistinct for ages.
